tl;dr - Dodson Builders was the best experience I've ever had with a contractor…read more My wife and I decided to have the patio off our master bedroom enclosed as a nursery/playroom/office space we could easily access. We wanted it done right, and we weren't about to attempt it ourselves, so we shopped around, talked to a few guys, and after meeting Peter, decided to hire Dodson Builders. We ended up waiting 2 years to do the work, changing the scope of the job rather dramatically, but the folks at Dodson got things in motion as soon as we were ready. By the end of things, they'd given the entire rear side of our house a fresh look, too. Peter, the owner, is professional, engaging, and rightfully takes a great deal of pride in the quality of their work. Lisa, our project manager, was in constant contact with us throughout so that we were never more than a quick text or call away from having our questions answered. She is an absolute joy to work with. Mike is personable, adaptive, and skilled, maintaining an open dialogue throughout the work and a high level of cleanliness on the site. Luis was likewise open and friendly as we got things started. They choose and manage their subcontractors very well too, addressing problems if they came up and making sure everything turned out as promised. Here's the funny thing. Less than a year later, we're selling our house. We're crazy, I know, but that's beside the point. This place sold incredibly fast, ending in a three-way bidding war that went above what we ever thought possible, and I have no doubt that Peter's crew had a lot to do with that. They helped us turn an ordinary tract home into something unique and made the process as smooth as possible.

Extremely disappointed with this company. What a waste of my time and money to get nothing for what…read moreI paid for! They knew my budget upfront was a $100k and they said they could complete the job with the targeted budget. After I paid 7k for their so call design fees, they gave me a construction price of $321k. Their design team gave me no innovative ways to lower the cost other than shrinking the size of the addition from a large bedroom to a tiny office. They knew we were expanding our home to accommodate our special needs child and I felt that they led us on with false promises, when they clearly did not want to complete the job. Our main goal, was to expand home to accommodate our special needs child so he could have his own space. Their design team did not think outside the box when I asked to give me different ideas we could accomplish this within our budget. It was very disappointing that they gave me back my same designs I originally gave them. DODSON BUILDERS CONSTRUCTION miss lead their customers by saying "yes, we can complete your remodel within your budget but you have to pay a non-refundable 7k" when DODSON Builders knew they were going to over charge their customers. Please think twice before going with them.

I had asked him to look at an old house for a series of fixes it needed with floors, bathroom walls, exterior paint, and a bunch of other minor fixes; to get pricing and he was able to walk through and give us a lot of advice and options for what we could do along with price points that would work for us. Very professional, fast, and patient. I would seek him out again for any work.

The shower backs to my hall wood floor....within a short time I noticed bumbles appearing in my wood floor and I contacted the floor person.....bumbles in the wood is water damage!! By means of attempting several solutions to no avail, we have to totally tear down and redo after only 3 1/2 yrs. We realized the leaking has to be an issue under the floor......The pan was put in wrong, so it drained out around it in one of the corners! The Cloud Nine owner, Gilbert, refused to assist when I wanted to find out who installed the glass doors as we were trying to attempt to have more reap holes drilled thinking that might help drainage! His response, was, it's no longer under warranty! You don't care about warranty when your trying to fix a leaking problem damaging your floor. The attitude of the owner was uncooperative. Their Installation was not done correctly and has had cost & headaches to try to fix! No stars from my experience with Cloud Nine Construction!

He took on the project and was able to finish in the timeline that I requested in the bid. We lived two hours away during the construction and I was EXTREMELY satisfied with the level of communication and trustworthiness with working primarily unsupervised. I have had issues in the past with other contractors having that much freedom but Godo was sending me videos and picture updates as well as updates on his instagram. He made good on all of his promises and did the best tile job I've ever seen on a home in person. I could not recommend this company enough. They also painted my entire house and it came out great but the craftsmanship of the tile work is second to none. In summary if you're looking for someone with INTEGRITY and CRAFSTMANSHIP, look no further.

5/5 -- Incredible Experience with Bill at BLC Homes…read more We recently completed a home remodel with Bill at BLC Homes, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Bill is one of those rare contractors who combines top-tier craftsmanship with clear communication, professionalism, and genuine care for the final product. From our very first meeting, Bill took the time to understand our vision and offered thoughtful recommendations that made the project even better than we originally planned. He provided a detailed timeline and budget, and he stuck to both--no surprises, no headaches. Throughout the remodel, Bill and his team showed up on time, kept the space tidy, and worked with incredible attention to detail. Every finish, every line, every piece of the project reflects true quality. He handled a full kitchen gut, raised ceilings, new concrete, a complete electrical overhaul, bathrooms, flooring, structural changes, and the transformation is stunning. Our home has never looked better, and we've received so many compliments already. What impressed me most was Bill's communication. He kept us updated at every stage, checked in frequently, and made sure we were completely comfortable with each decision. Working with him was stress-free, smooth, and honestly enjoyable. If you're looking for a trustworthy contractor who delivers exceptional work and stands behind everything he does, Bill at BLC Homes is the one you want. We will absolutely be calling him for any future projects.

Leaving a review to help others considering working with Hire-A-Hubby…read more I needed to replace a 'gas cylinder' for a Herman Miller chair that I own and I set up a date for these guys to come out and try to remove the 'stuck' cylinder. The morning of the work, David told me his guys where sick and couldn't make it, so I reached out to another contractor who I told I would contact if 'H-A-H' didn't show up, cancelled, etc. Then 10 minutes later there is two guys at my door from 'Hire-A-Hubby'. I told them what David said, they where confused, so I just let them do the work. I called off the other contractor, apologized for the inconvenience, about 15 minutes later the guys got the cylinder out! I then asked how to pay, they told me David would invoice me. I then reached out to David and he wanted me to Zelle him. I then asked for an invoice and today, about a week later, I got an invoice and was able to pay through the Quickbooks they invoiced from. -- So, in a nutshell, do they do the job IF they show up? YES! Is their communication the best? NO -- If you're in an emergency like I was, this is my work chair, I need it as I'm on the computer ALL DAY so fixing this was needed, then maybe give them a shot. From other reviews it seems like they are just Handy Men, so if you need a specialist, electrician, etc. I'd maybe look elsewhere BUT if you need some good ol' grunt work, something moved, removed, taken down, put up AND you don't mind some miscommunication that 'might' occur, then H-A-H isn't a bad choice! Thanks David for the help, just leaving a honest review for everyone, I think an assistant could help their team a lot and clear up the loose ends.

He's followed through, shown up, and finished everything on time and exactly as promised. Very rare in this day and age. The first project was replacing a door and door frame on the side of my garage, and the second was a larger stucco project replacing a section of soffit that had sagged after separating from the rafters. On that second project, he even revised his estimate $600 lower after talking with his "stucco guy." I had been visibly relieved at his initial estimate, he could've just pocketed that difference, which makes me wonder if Gary is the most honest contractor in the world? Anyway, after these awesome experiences, he'll be my first choice for any project large or small, and I will recommend him to everyone, like I'm doing right now. Beyond just a great professional/work ethic, he has a warm, positive personality and is genuinely a pleasure to work with and talk with. Very highly recommended!!
