I have to admit--I was trepidatious about walking in. Aesthetically, this is not a hip, upscale eatery--but once you walk in, you'll notice that while things are worn, they're clean. It's not fancy. It's not trendy. It's a tiny hole in the wall spot. And the breakfasts are GOOD. Fluffiest scrambled eggs I've had in a long time. The sausage gravy for our meals was tasty. Home fries were on point. I've read reviews on the service being below expectations; our waitress was working front of the house completely solo. Did she stick around to chat and discuss the weather? Nope. But so pleasant and efficient, was attentive to our needs, jokes around with us. I would definitely go there again. This is a hole in the wall little breakfast/lunch diner in Valdez. The diner closes at 2 so be aware when you are looking for food options; they are not open for dinner!! There was a 30-40 minute wait to be seated so we went to grab a coffee and came back. We were seated and placed our orders pretty quickly. This is where we had our only issue which I can't entirely fault the diner on? They apparently only had one cook working on the day we visited. We are here on a pretty busy holiday weekend so I'm not sure if this is normal but we waited nearly 1.45 hours for our food. No greetings as we walked in, just hand gestured us to a table which is better than anyone after us got lol watched one couple not get acknowledged and they left, another came in, turned around. 1/2 the carpet is missing and the floor is sticky and grimy. There's no ventilation so smoke just rises to the ceiling lol. The lady with blue hair clearly had better things to do, I hated having her at our table with that attitude, nonetheless bumping into my chair as she walks past. The blonde gal working today 9/2/24 was probably the worst waitress I've ever had. Didn't asked if we wanted anything to drink. I had to go up to her. When I was ordering I added some stuff to my Benedict. She said "You mean the Florentine." I said yeah kind of except add egg, Avacado and ham... like girl write it down however you'd like I didn't miss speak. What I said still made sense. Every interaction with her was short like she didn't care at all. There was not a single customer service bone in this gals body today. It's one thing if this was an off day, but from what I read this gal must have a lot of "off-days". The portions are good sized though so I'll give them that. My eggs weren't runny on my Benedict though, and the hollandaise was definitely chunky. Definitely would be an awesome spot if they did a little quality control on their employees & food. read more

There weren't to many choices open on a Sunday morning, so we gave this place a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic. The server, Tracy, was attentive and accommodating. The portion sizes were large. Coffee was hot and had a good flavor. It's a typical small town diner. The decor is plain but clean. We will eat here again. read more

Well I thought I'd give this place a shot. I was seated fairly quickly (for 1) . I got my orange juice very quickly but then she forgot to take my order for 15 minutes. So here I am 45 minutes later for a 2 egg, bacon, pancake breakfast still waiting on it. Two parties with 3 or more that sat after me received their food first and are done eating. 9/1/24- this place is a small diner. Walked in and the smoke was so thick from the kitchen made me cough. This place is a dump but I'm sure a handful of regulars enjoy it. The food matched the energy of the diner, they ran out of this and that but that's to be expected of a small town diner. I've been here twice, since it's April and not much else is available at this time. I went to the totes and realized it was rebuilt since I've been here last and didn't realize it burned down. Totem doesn't serve breakfast anymore which is a super shame, it was the best in town! So, came here and ordered a mushroom, sausage, pepper skillet with eggs over easy the first time. The second time it was the 2X2. Both times the food was good, but took a very long time. There weren't many people here, but the cook acts as the waiter and cook, and it makes for a long wait for breakfast. It's fine if you're not on a schedule, but if you are make sure you give yourself at least 45 minutes for breakfast. read more

If you have a couple hours to waste for cold food this is the spot for you! Service is definitely geared towards locals so if you're adventuring to Valdez I would recommend going somewhere else. Owner was gladly taking phone orders over serving the people in his restaurant. The food was great, which is the only reason I'm even giving one star. The service was horrible. The only time the waitress spoke to us was to take our order. No eye contact, no smile, no personality. My husband was given the wrong order. No apology, no explanation. By the time she brought the "correct" order out I had nearly finished my meal. She placed it on the table and walked away without comment. A few minutes later she placed our bill on the table without comment, seemingly telling us she was done with us. Again, no comment from her. My husband's meal still wasn't correct. He asked the waitress to speak with the cook. The cook didn't offer an apology until my husband told him we knew the owner. My husband was still speaking when the cook walked away. It's sad customer service is nonexistent in this restaurant. It was my first time eating here. He came out and checked on my food and made sure everything was going well. If not for him I probably would have given a lesser rating. The servers were not super friendly or communicative. Went to TraDa'a in august. There was only us and another couple there. We were sorted and asked for drink orders right away. Meal order was taken soon after. The owner came out to talk to both of us in the dinning room, he was very friendly. Food only took what seemed like 10 mins. I order the hot cakes and got three large hot cakes. Husband ordered oatmeal with raisins it was a very large bowl. Meal sizes for the money was right on point. Would recommend for a quick breakfast. read more

TraDas is still new to Valdez but has many problems. Have eaten here twice. Opening day and a month later. The first day the restaurant was slightly full and I ordered a chicken fried steak that took an hour to get to me after I placed the order. The steak was not tenderized and the fat was not trimmed off so the batter did not stick to the meat thus it was a thick fried piece of steak that was tough and chewy. 3 weeks later they advertised a breakfast burrito for $5 And I wanted to try it, it would give a good idea to see if the restaurant hammered out some issues, sadly I was let down. Food took an hour to get out again and my wife and i ordered a small meal. The burrito was fine and all but my wife ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was hard and bland and the gravy was yellow in color and had no flavor. We left very disappointed. I plan on giving TraDas a 3rd try but I'm going to do it in the summer, if they survive that long. I understand that they are a new restaurants and they have a lot they need to work on, but they need to improve faster than they currently are. There's not many choices for a b'fast restaurant in Valdez, and I will say that TraDa's is not a bad choice. I've eaten here three times during the summer and will say that their learning curve is over. They have put out respectable meals every time. My Mexican omelet was delicious today. It's a small place with only a two person staff so they can become overwhelmed in a rush situation. But I suggest you try it because they do a good job. read more

After ordering and picking up our food which wasn't very good. The portion for the chicken fried steak was small, the fat was still on it and definitely overpriced for what you get. When calling about our problem the employee was very rude about what we had to say and suggested we eat at another restaurant instead of eating there.
