An excellent local gem! The restaurant has a solid historic AK vibe with cool memorabilia on the walls and super friendly staff and customers. I got the spicy meatballs appetizer and an 18" specialty pizza. I was truly impressed with the scratch made taste, quality and portion sizes, and the pizza could easily contend with an East Coast NY-Style pizza (I grew up in Jersey and lived off of that stuff). I also met the owner, Rick - a really good dude - so it makes sense that you can taste the love in the food. Hands down the best place to get food in Valdez, in the winter. Pizzas are inventive, hot, and fresh. Prices are not insane. Seems like a low bar huh? You don't know what it's like to try to eat in Valdez in the winter, my sweet, summer child. The Fat Mermaid is the main local winter food business open in the winter and, while good, it is hideously overpriced. We got a pizza for pickup and ate it at the hotel. They have a semi-secret bar you can drink at while you wait for you pizza...expect that review in a few days ;) read more

Food's amazing, from there pizza to there salad. They got plenty of drinks to choose from, and a better beer selection. The service was a little slow it was a little packed but everyone can use family time. The place is well designed for the theme, I think the only thing that's missing is not being open on Tuesday through Wednesday. read more

The Gyro is excellent. The sauce is made in house and it is amazing. The pizza is great, the nachos are large and tasty. I haven't had anything I didn't like. It's a small location with quite a few beers on tap. Fun atmosphere. read more

Don't ever make the mistake of calling this hole a restaurant. There's one table (for two) and a bar for maybe six. We sat down at the bar and were asked to move twice in two minutes because someone couldn't make their pool shot. Maybe you can call in a pizza. We left in less than 5 minutes. read more

I picked up a pizza here and had never tried the restaurant out. It is somewhat misleading when you walk it but I also wonder if they are working on a remodel of some sort? This is the best place for a after sporting event party! Great food, plenty of room, and owners very supportive of all youth sports! Those that ordered individual pizzas faired better than those getting the one slice with salad and a beverage. The single slice folks got cold pizza. Service was good. The pizzas were hot and tasty except as noted. Beverages came in cans or bottles. There is a second floor with added tables. Our server had to cover both floors. Stopped by The Stampmill tonight with a group of friends and was not disappointed! We ordered 3 of the pizzas, the Classico and a 1/2 Imperial, 1/2 Sunshine (Hawaiian) along with an order of breadsticks. I also ordered the Glacier Brewhouse Hefeweizen on tap which paired perfectly with the pizzas (and yes, I did unabashedly sample a slice of each!). The pizzas were delivered hot and had just enough toppings on them to be delicious and feel satisfied that you were getting your money's worth, but not too many that the pizza sagged and you were unable to eat a slice without some external support. The pizzas came standard with a thin crust which I highly recommend. I also ordered a side of the homemade ranch dressing and it had that rich, classic pizza house flavor that I'd hoped for to dip my slices in. Although the restaurant had only been open for two days, the service was great, everyone was greeted with a small and the typical minor hiccups that accompany a new opening were all taken in stride by the staff. The place was bustling and outdoor seating on the second story deck was definitely the best seat in the house. We elected to sit inside due to the weather looking less than pleasant when we arrived, but by the time we left, the sun was out and we were a little jealous of those that took the risk! :) While we were dining, two of the Owner's came by and personally welcomed us and made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. One was working the floor with all of the servers and the other was in the kitchen taking care of the back of the house. Will definitely be back to sample the other items on the menu and excited to see that this place has delivered on the buzz that has been around town for the last couple weeks! I came here because their pictures made it look like they had pizza and beer. They have no beer.

From the dirty environment and flies flying around the restaurant (and food), the service was the worst I have EVER had!!! We went here because it's somewhere we hadn't tried, big mistake. We were seated and before we could even read the menu our waiter came over and asked if we were ready to order. I looked at my husband to see if he was ready because I was just going to pick something so I didn't hold the waiter up, my husband wasn't ready either. I guess this annoyed the waiter because he walked off. When he returned to our table he said nothing and took our menus and walked back to the kitchen. Seriously what the heck!! I worked as a waitress for years and would have never treated a customer so rude. No do you need another minute or are you ready to order, just swiped our menus away and leaves! My husband and I were so confused that we sat there a minute waiting for him to return (which he did not) eventually we decided to leave. Rudest service ever! The evening did end well because we ended up going to our favorite place Mike's Palace! Awesome food and great service every time! read more

Nice pizza. We got a medium, half pepperoni and half Italian sausage. They do not overdo the mozzarella sauce which is nice. In fact, the Italian sausage half had more white cheese than the pepperoni half. Pizza came out nice and hot. Thin crust was OK. Service was fine. read more

Our first take out order I have to mention, but a really great first impression! Really satisfied with the quality of the pizzas (pepperoni for the kids and Cajun chicken bacon minus tomato). I also got my husband a chicken bacon ranch sandwich, which he says he enjoyed. The ranch..... I hope it's homemade because I'll feel silly saying it's the best I've ever had. Worst pizza ever!! They don't even offer green bell peppers as a topping. How can you offer a Supreme pizza with no green peppers as an option? I got charged over $30. for what basically was a 12" soggy, flour tortilla with way too much bland red sauce, gamey reindeer sausage instead of the flavorful country style, and almost no cheese. I won't be recommending this place to the many tourists who ask me where the good food in town is. read more

I was disappointed with the Stampmill. Let me say the food WAS good. I had been so excited for it to open because I thought it would be different from the other restaurants. I thought it would have charm and an unique atmosphere. Unfortunately the owners did nothing to create a fun dining experience.
