I could go on and on and write a novella about how exceptional Dr. Wayman and his staff are. Here are the bottom line points you should know: 1) I have seen a number of great dentists over my lifetime, and had a good amount of work done, and Dr. Wayman is without question the BEST dentist I have (or likely will ever) see. I am a physician myself and have high standards. When I leave Seattle, I know I won't be able to find a clone. 2) His technical expertise is outstanding. He is a perfectionist, which is a highly desirable quality in any medical professional I see! 3) He will not break the bank. His charges are reasonable and he will attempt to do his work in a cost-effective (but excellent) manner. 4) He is obsessive. My first visit was an hour an a half, and most of the time was spent with him inspecting my teeth in detail (see #2) 5) Staff are all incredibly personable, helpful, and competent. Most of them have worked with him for many years, which is also telling. 6) His hygienist, Deb, is equally thorough, compulsive, and personable. You will never have a dental cleaning that is as deep and extensive, which is wonderful because it optimally prevents gum and tooth disease. He is an excellent dentist!!! Funny, gentle as he can be, great with people/children and very low key. His office team is helpful, caring and full of warm welcomes. Tracy Wayman and his superb staff -- Deb, Brenda, Karyn and Glenda -- have taken excellent care of my family for the past decade. When you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly,warm, and efficient. You can feel that the team enjoys one another's company. They move fast so that everyone's appointments run on time, which I appreciate, but I never feel rushed. When I transferred from another dentist a decade ago, Tracy immediately recommended quite a bit of work that the other dentist had not identified. All of it was structural and necessary: gum surgeries, repairing eroding enamel, and switching the type of toothbrushes and floss that I used so that I stopped wearing down my enamel and damaging my gums. At age three, my son began seeing Tracy and his team. Now Ben is thirteen and towers over all of us. It is to the team's credit that Ben enjoys going to the dentist -- no fear, no trepidation -- just visiting with a group of nice grown-ups who express genuine interest in him. (Plus, there is a wonderful treasure chest full of toys, and after his check-ups, Ben could pick out a toy to take home. Ben LOVED that, and spent a very long time choosing just the right toy each visit.) Finally, Tracy is low-key about his volunteer work, but he (and Deb) have done significant pro bono work over the years. I am happy to support a business with such high integrity. read more

This dentist is brusque, hyper (on 10 cups of coffee?) and recommended what turned out to be un-needed treatment (deep cleaning for 1200) The filling he did do failed in less then a few months resulting in a crown while on vacation. He does seem to have great technique so if you can put up with his personality and cost it might be okay. The last thing you want is a lecture with metal implements on your chest and in your mouth with no way to respond other then futile hand signals and eventually tears. His assistant seemed to be brand new and friends have told me there is a lot of turnover and it didn't help to hear disparaging remarks about her before she worked on my teeth. Notice how there is an inordinate amount of "positive reviews" posted after the latest negative reviews -- reviews which focus on the negative reviews and dramatically exclaim surprise at the negative reviews. These "positive reviews" appear to been requested or canned for the following reasons: In many cases, these reviews focus more on trying to market the dentist's office and sway others towards disbelieving the legitimacy of negative reviews rather than attesting to tangible experience. Nearly all of them take a defensive tone which aims to prove that Dr. Wayman's work and demeanor is not what the negative reviewers say. It is a simple and unfortunate fact that Dr. Wayman was investigated by the insurance company following his shoddy work, as mentioned in a negative review, and, that he was found guilty of shoddy work per the insurance company. This not opinion or conjecture, this is simply a fact -- one important to inform others of. 3. You may wish to disregard the review by the employee who tried to discredit other reviews just because a full name was not used. This further proof of the office's myopia when it comes to hearing feedback it doesn't want to deal with. After having experienced this office's lack of accountability (zero admitting and correcting damage to teeth that the dentist caused), it is of no surprise to me that former patients would want to shield themselves from this office with anonymity. 3a. The review by the employee also asserts that negative reviews are by patients who have not directly addressed concerns with the office, which is presumptive. Reading the negative reviews, it is evident that patients' voices have fallen on deaf ears and these are real people, with real, tangible, and as the employee review stated, graphic examples of evidence. The employee in fact demonstrated on numerous occasions signs of fear and hesitation at speaking up to her own boss, the dentist, about issues when asked to do so by me as a patient. This is sad for her & sad for former patients who have earnestly tried to get through to Dr. Wayman. And, this is precisely why truthful, negative reviews are necessary. Buyer beware. read more

Tracy is fantastic! I have had some pretty bad dental experiences in the past, in fact some of the problems Tracy has fixed were from the previous work I had. I don't have dental insurance and Tracy has been great about prioritizing the work that I need done to make sure I am comfortable physically and financially. I recently had a crown put on and it's a million times better then the crown I had done a few years back from another dentist. I didn't even realize how terrible the work was before until being able to compare it to the work Tracy did. The staff is also very friendly and quick to respond back to phone calls as well as emails. I highly recommend coming here if you are in need of a new dentist. read more

I'm not sure about the comments below. But I've been going to Wayman since I was at least three years old. My whole immediate family has been getting our teeth cleaned and worked on by his office for the last 25 years! My teeth are my best asset and living in Southern California I even make it up here for cleanings and general wear and tear of your teeth over the years. He is the only one I trust and the couple times I went somewhere else they messed up my teeth! I know allot of people don't like going to to the dentist and I'm sorry if you didn't like all the "things" he had to do to your teeth. But it you brushed and flossed twice a day like your supposed to, maybe you wouldn't have to get all these "unnecessary" things done. I don't have dental as well and yes it's expensive but so is not having medical. (Try $800 for antibiotics) By the way, that little machine they use, that beeps.... checks to see if you have cavities that are NOT on the surface of your tooth and are not able to be seen by the naked eye, thus missing if you did a glance over. Tracy, Deborah and the whole staff are incredible. I wouldn't have to make an appointment 6 months in advanced if people didnt love going there! It just the pits that the 6 people are the ones who wrote a bad review and not the HUNDREDS of people that LOVE going here. He's been there for a couple decades! I don't think someone that's bad would be there that long. I love him and the fact that I feel relaxed and like family when I walk through the door. If you can't pay a bill or only want to spend a certain amount he's always been able to make me comfortable and helps me figure something out for the best. He's energetic, fun, so good with children. He's been doing this for years and it shows he really loves his job. I'm a patient for 25 years and will be bringing my children in here like my mom brought me all those years ago. read more

Dr. Wayman is an "old school - but knows about new products too" personalized dentist that has a fabulous staff. I left my current dentists as my "old-school" dentist who really helped me understand the real reasons for proper teeth cleaning and care retired. All the new dentist wanted to do was put in teeth implants to replace a perfectly good bridge that I had after an accident in 1975? I have always heard of dentists who recommend unnecessary procedures and high-fee work but had never experienced it, until I visited this office! I'm so relieved I thought to get a second opinion. When I moved too far from my old dentist, I tried Tracy's office. Initially the office was so friendly and fun, I thought things would be great but not after the exam. You've never seen so many unnecessary bells and whistles. New X-rays though my files I provided showed I'd had them done at my old office 6 months ago ("Oh, we like to have our own") and an in-mouth video camera and a machine that beeps if you might have a cavity (you know what else tells you that? A dental exam). Now, I know I have good teeth and gums -- never had a cavity -- but Tracy's initial hyper friendliness ("I'm putting my son through college!") suddenly turned to a lot of doom and gloom my old dentist never mentioned and he said I needed to come in for 4 more separate deep cleanings at separate costs. Oh, and I have recent protective bonding on some teeth that have deep pits. He wanted to replace all of that bonding for no good reason. Then they sent me to the financial person who laid out all these incredible charges and after all that I find out they aren't in the Delta Dental Network (only the largest network that all major NW corporations' plans are in) and couldn't take my insurance. "Oh, didn't you hear? They raised their network fees so a lot of dentists are dropping out! But Tracy is so good, you should pay the extra to stay here!" Fortunately that got me to seek a new dentist on a recommendation. A wonderful dentist, in-network (as were all the dentists I looked into -- no epidemic of "dropping out"). Nice check-up, no unnecessary X-rays, confirmation of my dental health, and very surprised when I told her what Tracy wanted to do. No need to replace bonding or do extra cleanings. You guys, don't go here. Seek a less greedy, reputable dentist, and get second opinions! read more

I'm surprised by the negative reviews and wonder at their credibility. Tracy has virtually no turnover of staff. I've been going there for almost 20 years and have seen the same faces for years. Some people do find him a bit brusque, but it's never bothered me, especially since he's such a good dentist. I've been to a few bad dentists, so I know one when I see one. Tracy is skilled with his hands, up-to-date with his knowledge and his equipment and generous with his time. He does volunteer dental work in So. America each year. read more

Great dentist, great staff, superb care. Options are always explained clearly, and the dentist's guidance is consistently clear. He is absolutely current with changes in dental technology and techniques. The staff is always friendly, and responsive to urgent situations. Hygienists are friendly and offer up to date evidence based care and recommendations. Insurance is handled with expertise, and I've never had a problem in 10+ years. Tracy Wayman is the worst dentist I've ever met in my entire life. He is a pervert and only thinks about his own pocket. After my initial visit, he told me that I needed to have 3 fillings on my upper right and 4 fillings on my upper left. He did all my upper right fillings and scheduled me for another appointment to do my upper left. During my second visit, surprisingly, he started working and drilling my upper right!!!!!! I was shocked and stopped him and said that he already did those!!!!! He did not take proper notes about procedure he did on my teeth during last visit!!!! What an idiot. He also recommended me to have 3 crowns!!!! I got a second opinion and there was no need having crowns!!! He encourages people to get crowns only for the sake of his own pocket. Tracy and my sister-in-law, Deb McGlynn, who is a dental hygienist that works for Tracy, are the best dentist and dental hygienist and Karen and Glenda the best customer service providers I have ever experienced at a dental office. They are professional, smart, friendly, attentive and compassionate to my sensitivities as a dental patient who has gone through several, previous, traumatic experiences from teeth being pulled as a young child, to braces, car accidents, gum surgery, etc....Before I was introduced to Tracy Wayman's dental practice by my wife (Michelle Fleming) 27 years ago, I was so afraid of going to the dentist from my previous childhood, teenager, and early adulthood experiences, that I didn't go to the dentist for over 10 years (probably longer).
