Was trying to purchase a flowering crabapple and have it installed. The person at the check-out…read moretold me that she was really only helping out and really didn't know much about anything except for taking people's money. The person to whom I was passed onto for help was no better. The computer pricing system was malfunctioning. (Every time I have been there in the last 2 years Wheatfield's computer system has had some malfunction issues.) After repeated attempts to figure out the pricing, another "staff" person told my "helper" that the scanning "book" where the prices were supposed to be was wrong! That "staff" person then advised that my "helper" had to somehow manually figure out what to charge by typing in various similar products to determine costs. Then the "staff" person simply walked away. After a period of time, my "helper" somehow arrived at a price that was totally outlandish and not at all reasonable. It was obvious that my "helper" must have simply guessed or interpolated incorrectly. In any event, his lack of knowledge and inability to help me plus the fact that the vanished "staff" person acknowledged that the prices were not to be relied upon plus the fact that the person at the check-out admitted a lack of skill, lead me to conclude definitively that I was never, never, never going to deal with Wheatfield Nursery again! A total mess! I have had similar experiences at this place, but always gave them a "second" chance. Well, today simply confirmed that Wheatfield Nursery's business issues are not merely sporadic or coincidental to certain past experiences. Instead, it's mismanagement seems systemic. I was writing so much of it down, since they were such a wealth. I've never seen so many plants, and it was reasonably priced. I honestly may make this my go to plant nursery each year.
