I was at Fox Hill Gardens from 10 to 11 am this morning. They are a local (not big box) gardening center that appears to specialize in native plants. Excellent service. Excellent masking. Excellent social distancing. And btw, the plants arre wonderful. We just filled our porch planters with a variety og grasses, ferns, green perennials, and flowering pkants. My wife and I have always enjoyed walking through FOX HILL GARDENS when looking to enhance our landscaping. The setting in the GARDENS is spectacular and the variety and obvious health of their plants, trees and shrubs for sale keeps bringing us back. For several years we have struggled to find a perfect plant choice for a rather large area in our back yard. We also had several beds that needed some bushes. This year we reached out to FOX HILLS GARDENS for an on-site consultation. Holly was the person who came up to hear our concerns and make suggestions. After she assessed the area and took measurements we were quite happy with her ideas and she invited us to stop by the GARDENS to look at the plants she suggested. We loved what we saw and signed the contract. Jesse and Hannah were the team that came to install the plants. We could not believe their preparation of the planting sites before even one plant was dug in. It was so clear that our new plants were going to have a happy time adjusting to their new home. Our next pleasant surprise was how meticulously each plant or bush was positioned and planted. What an extraordinary team and done with such care and attention to detail! We are so grateful to have met these plant professionals who have made our property so much more beautiful. We will definitely be return customers to FOX HILL GARDENS over the coming years. read more

We love white flowers, looked all over the area nurseries for white rhododendrons, and bought several labelled white Catawbiense Albas here. Brought them home, treated the soil, dug holes, planted them. Two weeks later they start to bloom -- two are a sickly bubblegum pink and one is lavender. Fox Hill admitted it was their error and that they sold ALL their rhododendrons mislabeled, but told us we would have to dig them up, pack them up (we didn't keep the plastic buckets so now we have to buy some?) and drive over and bring them back ("in good condition" we were instructed!) in order to get a refund. AND they won't even replace them with the white ones we wanted and bought. What? Very unimpressed with Fox Hill's customer service. I would recommend you buy elsewhere. read more

What makes Fox Hill so charming is that they have their selections nestled within their own gardens. It's gorgeous! There was a family there that was so enamored by the scenery, they started taking family photos! I'm not a novice gardener, but I learned a lot there today, between all of the helpful signage and the conversations with the staff. Each of the plants is well marked with notes on how to plant them, how large they will grow, and when they'll bloom (and even the color of the blooms).Another thing I really appreciate is that they have signs telling you which plants are native to the area, and which are pollinators - even the seasons they pollinate. They also clearly mark if they attract butterflies or birds. The prices are more than reasonable for the area, the staff members are friendly and helpful, and they know a lot about their plants. They focus on perennials. It's not full of flat packs of annuals, so if that's what you're looking for, there are other greenhouses in the area filled with those. Regardless of your preferences, check them out. It's worth the trip just for the ambiance. You won't be disappointed! read more
