The store is designed for supply, not for shopping. What I mean is that this store is set up for a guy like me. When I go to any large department store, or God forbid, to the mall - I do the surgical strike. In and out. Quick. Just here for this specific item at this specific store. Mentally, I might even map out the shortest shopping distance for multiple items as is possible. With this shop, there is a garage door at each end. It is literally a drive through operation. They can crank it out and keep folks moving. If you are "shopping" here, you already know what you want and how much you want and you get great service and then they "run another on," as Andy Griffith would say. The person staffing this Saturday was knowledgeable about the product we wanted. We came specifically for a certain fertilizer mix, and he was helpful in directing application instructions and timing and other such information, so it is not as if they provide no customer service. It is as if they are set up for a quick stop for supplies on the way to the next yard job.

Everything is bigger and better than any Tractor Supply I've ever visited. There's tons of sacks of animal feeds. This is one incredible store. I certainly recommend a visit! I was told that this is strictly a North Carolina chain store. The Spartanburg, S.C. location is their first venture out of state.

I understand requiring a driver's license to verify that the person picking up an order is the person listed on it. However, the employee also wrote down my full driver's license number on the paperwork I signed. I don't understand why recording the entire license number is necessary when my physical ID already provides my name and photograph, which can be matched to the order. I also had the order barcode on my phone as an additional means of verifying the pickup. I contacted customer service about this and was told the manager confirmed that recording the license number is company procedure. While I understand that it may be company policy, I question whether collecting and retaining such sensitive personal information is necessary for a routine order pickup. I would encourage the Spartanburg Rural King to reconsider this procedure and use a less intrusive method of verifying customers.
