My Jimmy Choo Nightmare -- A Cautionary Tale I splurged over…read more$700 on a pair of Jimmy Choo sandals. Seven hundred dollars. For that kind of money, you'd expect exceptional quality, right? Wrong. I wore them exactly ONE time, and the sole was already worn down. One wear. Let that sink in. So I called their customer service, and that's where the real nightmare began. For two months -- TWO MONTHS -- they gave me the runaround. They refused to replace the shoes. They refused a refund. Eventually, after endless calls and emails, they graciously agreed to repair them for free -- even though at first they wanted to charge me for the repair of their own defective product. Then they handed the shoes off to UPS... and UPS lost them. For a month. After yet another month of back and forth, the shoes were finally repaired and returned. And the cherry on top? Their idea of compensation for this entire ordeal was -- wait for it -- a whopping 10% discount on my next purchase. My next purchase?! There will be no next purchase. Ever. Let me be clear: I paid luxury prices and received dollar-store customer service. Months of my time wasted, zero accountability, and an insultingly small discount as a "sorry." Shame on you, Jimmy Choo. Your customer service is an absolute disgrace. If this is how you treat the people who spend hundreds of dollars on your brand, you don't deserve a single one of them. In all of these years, I've heard about the Newburgh Mall but never stepped my foot in until…read morerecently. Why not check out a mall when you have never been to one and see all the changes and what to offer. There's plenty of parking space in the front and back of the mall and was not hard to find, and a lot of empty ones. The lines need to be repainted as it's desperately needed. Stepping inside was no joke, a dead mall. Most or not many of the stores are closed even with big brand names such as FYE, The Bon Ton, Old Navy, and Kay Jewelers to name a few. I don't see in the future of new stores making their debut to open, if so, maybe some entertainment places. I'd say within a couple or more years it will be fully dead. No issues with the bathrooms and housing keeping in the main hallway, just a sad place to be with many closed stores.

The food court has a nice variety. Check out their directory for a more updated and detailed list of food options. There is an AMC Theatre, Target, and Gold's Gym inside as well. We enjoyed walking around the mall and were even more excited to be able to visit Middletown, NY!

I really want to support local Sullivan County businesses, even the chains, to help keep money…read morelocal. But they have to make an effort. This Walmart doesn't. First, appearance. Other nearby Walmart locations, including the smaller one in Napanoch, have clean, refreshed displays. This store got a few brand new black cardboard signs, but most of the store still looks like it's held toghether by duct tape and bubble gum. They've slowly removed things like vending machines in the entrances, so now there's more places for the homeless to congregate, and the store does next to nothing about that. The spot for a restaurant has been vacant for about a decade now; they've made no effort to replace it. Over the years they lost a McDonald's and a bank, and they've only just replaced the bank, nearly a decade later, with a cell phone accessory store that would usually be a kiosk in the mall. This Walmart is not the one-stop destination that others, like Middletown, is. They routinely have the majority of their self-service registers closed, even though they require minimal staffing, so there is always a line. On my most recent visit, only 3 of the 16 were open, all on the opposite side of the building from where I entered. The register I used had a broken barcode scan wand, which I needed for an oversized item, and the chip reader for credit cards was also broken. Does this mean the other 13 registers have worse equipment? When I order items from the website, they sometimes decide to fulfill my orders from this location rather than a warehouse. When that happens, items are usually shipped two days AFTER the guaranteed delivery date. Based on the stickers on the packages, they were packed on time and then left on the side, forgotten. As more and more stores open nearby, they are going to lose a few dollars here and there until we lose them for good. We need this Walmart here; I remember the days when we had to go down to Middletown for basic needs. We need this store here, but they shouldn't take us for granted -- they need to give a darn about us, also.

I called and waited online forever after finally getting through the robots they actually had the nerve to tell me that I have to connect our savings account to their corporation in order to order anything. I immediately said that's a crazy policy. I'm not ordering anything from you again I will never do that. You have no right to have access to my bank account. You know the usual logical saying answer to such a stupid, Corporate response. Another question I had was why do you still have our credit card on file when we never gave you permission to have that They don't know. What do they know? Serves us right for ordering from this wretched store. They treat their workers horribly no health insurance all part-time I could go on and on, but you can look it up for yourself. We're waiting to contact our bank because both of us might have heart attacks about being so angry that any corporation would ask for direct access to our personal banking account. Every corporation knows everything about you is got nothing to do with national security as we keep telling you. They figure we're a little bit older, maybe we're nuts. Maybe we have dementia maybe they can clean out our bank account and nothing will happen to them. There will be no consequences. Yeah, we're not very happy with this and you should be either. The girl working there asked if we needed any assistance and when I told her we were looking for low-protein food, she literally checked every single type of food on their shelves to find the one with the lowest protein content. Not only that, but she explained everything about the few types she suggested and clearly knew what she was talking about. We walked out pretty amazed by the service here and our dog has been doing wonderfully on the diet she helped us choose. Bonus points for the adorably friendly cat there!
