Small appliances including fans and portable air conditioners, cookware and mattress sets. Dishware, cutlery, glassware, kitchenware and cookware. Food items including canned vegetables, sauces, pasta and candy. Patio furniture. Area rugs and runners. A huge display of bargain books. She said she comes here to get wild bird feed for her feeders on her property. We parked and right away I knew I would like this place by seeing the yard tools and plants displayed at the front of the store. You could probably compare it to a Tractor Supply store in California. We walked in and I was amazed how large the store was. We came in on a Thursday during the late afternoon. It wasn't too busy. Plenty of parking available. This store has clothing, some food, plenty of snacks, live chicks, rabbits, garden tools, car needs, they have a little bit of everything! Even canned fruits! I heard the canned peaches were delicious. I would have loved to take some home, but I'm always hesitant packing glass on check-in luggage. Get this, they have a popcorn machine that you can serve yourself, for free! The store is very clean and organized. The floor wasn't flood with customers so we felt we were checked in every now and then by the store staff. I purchased a few cute t-shirts. I would definitely visit this store again and bring a jar of some canned peaches to try at my friend's home next time.

We saw one chair we liked. It would fit our needs, was the acceptable color, material and size...a la my wife's seeking standards. Did we buy it? Of course not. Hickory is loaded with furniture outlets, so off we went a exploring. A couple of more locations and them the big kaboom: the Hickory Furniture Mart. Another review coming on this enormous, four level block-filling edifice containing just about any manufacturer and style of furniture one could imagine. We did not find anything that was better than the one at The Hickory Tree, so after some coffee and lunch at the Olde Hickory Station (see that review), we returned to the Hickory Tree. Since this was a consignment store, all items had a sales price tag with the prices listed over time. What I mean is that a price of $175 was scheduled to cost $150 on the first of the next month, then it would cost $135 the next month, and so on. This being the middle of the month, and not wanting to risk the desire chair being sold while we waited, we bought it...right then. They accepted credit cards. With the help of a young man we loaded this chair into our SUV and were off for home. An excellent, but exhausting furniture shopping experience that I survived. Before you blow your mind out looking for furniture all over, start here at the Hickory Tree. Prices reasonable and mark-downs abound. And nice people.

There were still many people walking around inside and more in line checking out. I explained that I needed another lock to match one I had purchased recently, and that I knew right where they were. I could get it and be in line to check out in seconds. He lied and told me that they had already shut all the registers down, even though both were checking out customers. I sat out front for 15 minutes while customers continued to exit the store with their purchases. I have done a lot of business with this store but will not waste my time making the trip ever again. I suggest you reconsider doing business with a store that doesn't care about your time, or their integrity.

I had a great experience purchasing my John Deere from Hickory Home & Garden. I was originally looking to buy at one of the big box hardware stores, but I would rather support a local business and also they have the machines in stock where I could physically go and see them. I was helped pretty much as soon as I came in. They had the model I was looking for in the back as it had just come in and they let me go back there and take a look. After browsing a bit and comparing models I went ahead with the purchase. They scheduled a delivery for like the next day and the delivery went great. The machine show up clean, prepped and ready to go! Nothing but a good experience so far with Hickory Home & Garden Center and I hope it continues when I eventually come in for service.

She told me how to replace my current mower battery and then explained, in detail, the other options I had. Not only the options but how the batteries were interchangeable with other tools by the same company and how useful that could be. She went on to tell me about safe battery care and how batteries were affected by hot and cold temperatures. On the way one can tipped forward and the lid popped out and the entire gallon ran all over the car. I returned to Lowe's and they had just closed the Manager Angel came out and stated' the other 4 cans have the lid in place so obviously my employee tightened it how do I know you did not manipulate the lid. There is nothing I am going to do for you. ' Not even a paper towel was given to me. And I am a handicapped senior it's pretty ingenious to manipulate a lid past third row of seats while driving. I called corporate office and was told the stores individually handle complaints. I spend 2 hours struggling to clean the vehicle and it's still not clean. I also lost 53$ gallon of paint and was insulted by a manager that obviously requires customer service training.

They don't have the same brand as Joannes and Michael's and there were some slightly different color selections but definitely not as much variety. In addition, they only offer the 140% off coupon as opposed to Joannes and Michael's that have more coupons available. I also thought the clearance section was larger than it was but soon realized that it was mainly leftover Christmas items and not much more. I guess you just have to catch it at the right time.
