I go way,way back to when this was Trawinski's. It's always convenient to have a full service…read morehardware store nearby. I was thrilled, years ago, when they expanded into a bigger, new location opposite the fairgrounds. Product selection expanded, the store was large, well organized, and brightly lit; parking was easier, and hours of operation extended. Plus they had dogs in the store, which is always a bonus! They also had a full-service paint department so I decided to buy my paint supplies there. Shop local, you know? Unfortunately, their pricing was about 25% higher than I was paying elsewhere. When I mentioned this the owner, Frank, became irritated. I showed him my invoices. He then became angry, not understanding how I was purchasing less for retail than he was paying the franchise, or something along those lines. It was weird. So, I stopped purchasing paints there but did continue buy other supplies. Later, they moved to their present location which continues to have ample parking and easy access, as well as a decent selection of hardware and sundries, to my recall. As a bonus, they carry not only chainsaws, but chainsaw parts and supplies. At the time, the fellow who ran that department, Andy, was great- helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. One day, I needed a couple saw parts which he had in stock; it was his suggestion that I take all that he had, 4 or 5 pieces, and return those I did not need as it would allow his system to automatically re-order. So I did that... Unfortunately, returning the parts was just an awful experience. The cashier at the time, a lady with white/grey hair, could not have been more rude or angry, acting as though I were taking food out of her mouth or committing some sort of fraud by returning the parts as I had been advised to do the previous day. I recall her interrupting a conversation I was having with another customer, an acquaintance of mine, as she began to berate me and demand not only the receipt, which I provided, but also my drivers license to process the return- a purchase of less than $25. I have no idea what makes people think it's acceptable to behave in the manner she did. It truly was a distasteful experience. As a result, I have not entered the store or spent one thin dime there since- though I do purchase thousands of dollars of hardware and supplies, etc. annually. Instead, I chose to patronize another local business which appreciates customers spending their money with them, though it is less convenient for me to do so. Reading through the various reviews here, evidently I am not alone in my experiences.

The 1st floor has locks for doors, bathroom items, tools, painter's tape, light bulbs, as well as pest control products, even paint swatches and so many other items. The second floor also sticks more hardware items but, you'll also find storage bins, kitchen and bathroom items including liquid hand soap. I just named a few items- but again, Woodstock Hardware will seriously help you if you're in a jam. As for prices, well.....we paid for convenience. Not complaining. The young gentleman who helped tremendously the day we visited was very pleasant and offered excellent advice when we needed it. Plus hubs and I were impressed by how this hardware store is practically a one stop-shop for almost any home situation.

They were able to help me with polyethylene tubing that big box stores weren't able to - they cut me off a piece of tubing so I didn't have to buy 100' when I needed 10'. Friendly service, they took their time. At checkout there were a couple of old head customers to chat with who were also friendly. Reasonable prices. For being as small as the location is they have a LOT of selection.

When we first walked in, my thoughts were, 'they're not going to have plumbing parts...' I was totally wrong. This hardware store has it all - everything you expect in a local hardware store and then some. The entry to the store is filled with unique items for your home, trinkets, and gifts. It's a visual delight. Then you get into the heart of the store and there you'll find housewares and small appliances, landscape supplies, light bulbs...the list goes on. They even offer refills of cleaning supplies for environmentally conscious shoppers. Don't forget about upstairs which houses the plumbing supplies amongst other things. I…read morehad tried several other companies, - including my long-time maintenance company, who are regional distributors for my equipment - with poor results. Mark came quickly, knew the product line (although he was not specifically family with my equipment) and was experienced and knowledgeable enough to be able to quickly diagnose and fix my problems, based on what he knew about other equipment from the same manufacturer. He was quick - because of his diagnostic skills and his knowledge of how to repair - and affordable, and his repairs have held up over time. He is old-school, someone who cares about his customers and his job and takes the trouble to do it well. I called him because of a problem (that eventually self-repaired) and he called back the same day, even though he was on vacation in another state, to give me what help and support he could over the phone, and to arrange to come and fix things as soon as he got back. That's the kind of work that gives me confidence and peace of mind. I recommend him most highly.

About 45 minutes to an hour were spent browsing through the incredible old/new - new/old stock (however it's referred to) and we had the pleasure of talking with Dennis, who answered whatever questions I had while gently rebuffing my attempts to buy things that were not for sale. I did however purchase a nice old file in new condition as well as an old, ornate drill bit holder which will proudly be displayed in my home shop. This store has a hazy, relaxed, out-of-time feel to it and is as relaxing and comfortable as any familiar place where one wants to get lost for a while and forget the loud, impersonal modern world in which we find ourselves immersed far too often.

went into Lowe's in Manor, two men to help me find a shower door. I was with a friend they…read morecouldn't find the box there was two in stock so we waited and we waited. They came back and said oh we didn't know you wanted it they just left us sitting there and then they walked away again so I guess they didn't want the sale. and I ended up going online and ordering it through Home Depot. Very poor customer service I even asked for help from someone they didn't go out of their way. Terrible, terrible terrible terrible you couldn't even go to a customer service desk. There's nowhere to have anybody on the have to check out yourself. Those two men were useless. I don't even understand how they have a job.
