Here's the guarantee folks. 5 days in, we're canceling the order.

Lowe's website states if you buy a hot water heater from them before 12:00 noon on any day, they guarantee delivery & installation within 24 hours. If you buy a hot water heater after 12:00 noon, they guarantee installation within 48 hours. We went into Lowe's and ordered a hot water heater on a Wednesday evening. The next morning we received a phone call from a scheduler to schedule delivery and installation for the following day, between 12:00-3:00 pm. So far so good, yes? Well, we waited. With our house guest. No one showed up. No one called. We called the scheduler at 3:30, who had no idea what we were talking about. 25 minutes & 3 people in, we finally got a person who found our order and schedule number. Noah said they had tried to reach us several times during the day (false), then he said there was an issue because they did not deliver & install in our area (?!?!?!?!). Why schedule a delivery & installation in our area if you don't deliver & install in our area?!?!?! We then went in person to Lowe's. A first THEY did not know what we were talking about. We provided the relevant information and finally got a Lowe's manager, who said she'd check & get back to us. We went to an early dinner. The manager called and said she spoke to the delivery/installer people and they would call us within the hour to schedule an expedited delivery and installation. What a Surprise! No call from any scheduler. We went back to Lowe's that night. The Manager was at dinner & would be back in 1/2 hour. An hour later, we were still waiting. We finally went home. From home we called and finally got the Lowe's manager who promised to leave our information for the next days' Manager. This was a big runaround and we were in day 3 of no hot water. With a houseguest. It is now nighttime on day #4, manager #2 was no help, night and we're still waiting. Lowe's took our order but NO ONE SEEMS to be able to honor the "delivered and installed in 24 hours" guarantee. In fact, we can't even get the hot water heater delivered 5 days later!!! What kind of guarantee is this?!? We have a house guest and we can't take a shower! We've been Lowe's customers for 25 years. We've spent tens of thousands in their stores. WE ARE NOT HAPPY. The non-customer service is not due to the pandemic. The failure to honor Lowe's guarantee is not due to the pandemic. Lowe's managers' not making sure the job gets done is not due to the pandemic. The water heaters are stocked in the store. WE ARE NOT HAPPY.

Decent store. It was ransacked. A number of obvious, common items sold out. Clerk needs to check…read moreshelves. Review: 4

I was thrilled, years ago, when they expanded into a bigger, new location opposite the fairgrounds. Product selection expanded, the store was large, well organized, and brightly lit; parking was easier, and hours of operation extended. Plus they had dogs in the store, which is always a bonus! They also had a full-service paint department so I decided to buy my paint supplies there. Shop local, you know? Unfortunately, their pricing was about 25% higher than I was paying elsewhere. When I mentioned this the owner, Frank, became irritated. I showed him my invoices. He then became angry, not understanding how I was purchasing less for retail than he was paying the franchise, or something along those lines. It was weird. So, I stopped purchasing paints there but did continue buy other supplies. Later, they moved to their present location which continues to have ample parking and easy access, as well as a decent selection of hardware and sundries, to my recall. As a bonus, they carry not only chainsaws, but chainsaw parts and supplies. At the time, the fellow who ran that department, Andy, was great- helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. One day, I needed a couple saw parts which he had in stock; it was his suggestion that I take all that he had, 4 or 5 pieces, and return those I did not need as it would allow his system to automatically re-order. So I did that... Unfortunately, returning the parts was just an awful experience. The cashier at the time, a lady with white/grey hair, could not have been more rude or angry, acting as though I were taking food out of her mouth or committing some sort of fraud by returning the parts as I had been advised to do the previous day. I recall her interrupting a conversation I was having with another customer, an acquaintance of mine, as she began to berate me and demand not only the receipt, which I provided, but also my drivers license to process the return- a purchase of less than $25. I have no idea what makes people think it's acceptable to behave in the manner she did. It truly was a distasteful experience. As a result, I have not entered the store or spent one thin dime there since- though I do purchase thousands of dollars of hardware and supplies, etc. annually. Instead, I chose to patronize another local business which appreciates customers spending their money with them, though it is less convenient for me to do so. Reading through the various reviews here, evidently I am not alone in my experiences.
