The same refill online through sodastream is $16.99 with free shipping for purchases of $65 or more ($18.05 a bottle including tax). Meanwhile, at this very moment in the heart of SF, you can purchase the same refill at my former hardware store Cliff's Variety for $18.46 including tax. Why was I being charged nearly 6 dollars more per refill by Carr Hardware? I was shocked when I looked at my receipt when I got home. What gives? I called the store and questioned the manager, Patty and explained the price discrepancies I had been finding. She was dismissive at first citing "price increases" as her justification. I told her I would complain about my experience online and then she said "corporate sets the prices and she would check and get back to me." I have yet to receive a return call. It's upsetting that post-covid so many businesses, local independents and large corporations alike, are willing to gouge their customers and their community. After some online research, my experience with Carr Hardware's refill pricing is comparable to complaints I had read about online by Walmart customers. I will be reporting my experience to the Better Business Bureau and caution you to be vigilant at the checkout counter if you shop at Carr Hardware. They've lost my trust and my business. I called ahead and they had everything I needed. I called back and asked to add soma few things to my order. The woman on the phone rudely said, "it's already packed." I was so stunned that I just hung up. Why not ask if I would like to start a second order? When walked in and told the woman behind the counter that I had an order, it immediately became clear from her voice that it was The same woman I spoke with on the phone. But she acted like I was someone new to her. I told her I had an order, and she acted as if it was the most preposterous thing anyone has ever said. She screwed her face up and said, lwhat are you talking about, for what?" I won't type out the whole in exchange, but she happily walked me out pointed at a few things and said, "they're right here! Where it says curbside pick up!" Meanwhile, my order was blocking the sign that said curbside pick up. She just really could've been a nicer human being. The entrance to the park is right at the store's parking lot, which makes it especially convenient. The map shows the different trails throughout the park, and I would choose one and enjoy a leisurely hike. A nice lady warmly greeted me when I walked in. I browsed around the store for a while but didn't end up purchasing anything this time. I did notice their wonderful selection of hiking shoes displayed along the back wall, which caught my attention. Over the years, I've purchased quite a few items from this store, so it was nice to return and browse once again. It was wonderful to revisit a place that brought back such pleasant memories of those hikes, as well as some enjoyable shopping experiences over the years.

We were sold a product with a missing part and were told multiple times that the part would be supplied, but it never was and we had to continually chase them. The missing part that was never even supplied, actually damaged the brand new appliance. We were sold an appliance that never worked properly and it was admitted to us finally that it was a manufacturer's defect, but no compensation of any sort was ever even offered. So there's two appliances that we purchased at full price, that ended up being not being as functional as they were supposed to be. Most recently, we were encouraged to spend over $750 dollars on fixing an old appliance only to have it break once and for all 2 months later. We had specifically asked if it was worth spending all that money on this unit or whether we should just buy a new one and we were Definitively recommended to do the repair. Now I have had to buy a new replacement appliance at the cost of what I spent on the repair plus $100 - a mere $1665 out of my pocket that I didn't really have to flush down the proverbial toilet. Their response to learning that the repaired appliance died? 'We (conveniently) have a sale coming up next week. Nope. No more. Hello big box store. And in discussing this recent terrible experience with friends and neighbors, come to find out that they have also had very similar experiences. I had Hunter Douglas blinds installed a few years ago from Caligari's. I was impressed with the…read moresales person who helped me pick out the blind that fit my particular needs. When the blinds arrive Ryan came to install them and he couldn't have been more friendly and professional. The blinds look gorgeous! My grandchildren were visiting this pasted weekend and, unfortunately, broke one of the blinds. I call Caligari's thinking I would have to purchase a new blind but they informed me that it might be able to be repaired. I scheduled a service call and it was Ryan who came again; I was so glad. He was able to fix the blind right away! For just the cost of a service call the blind is working again! He let me know that he isn't always able to fix blinds on site sometime they need to be sent out for repair, but if he can fix them, he does. So nice! The blinds are pricy but, in my option, worth every penny. Beth P.

What was worse, he refused to put on a mask, claiming he had asthma and couldn't breathe in one. Only when I phoned the store, did he put one on and even then he was rude about it. I spoke to someone at the store who said that only Kaitlyn could deal with this and they would contact her right away. But no one called me back. Atrocious customer service, and you're paying top dollar for the carpeting to boot.
