I followed the link from kibble company's page and was surprised that the Feed Bag has such an amazing selection of kibble. When I called to check prices I was pleasantly surprised that the Feed Bag beat the online vendors by nearly $8 per bag. We have been to the Feed Bag four times over the past year to purchase two types of Victor for our Aussies and each time we have been met with the same exceptionally friendly employees and super happy store cat and dogs. The selection of products is always interesting and of course we always walk away with a special vegetable based chew or bag of organic treats for our girls. Last time we were there I noticed they have bird seed, so my goal this weekend is to pay attention to their suet prices. The Feed Bag is in Richland, which does require a drive about seven minutes out past Kalamazoo, but it's well worth it for the money saved. We usually stock up and buy three or four large bags of kibble at once. The employees always help my husband carry the kibble to the car and I get to say hello to the owners dogs. Everyone wins.

Rabbits need access to Timothy hay at all times to maintain property dietary health. These Rabbits had none. Rabbits should never be kept in a wire bottom cage. However, if they are, they need a rubber mat or bedding under their feet to avoid sore feet developing. These Rabbits had no bedding or mats. Rabbits need access to food. These Rabbits had no food. I contacted Rural King corporate customer service regarding the conditions of the rabbit cages in this store. They informed me that they are looking into it and will address it with management. This situation is cruel and it's animal neglect. Shame on Rural King of Angola, Indiana!!!!

The manager pointed out the most expensive freshwater small (for now) fish, an electric blue jack Dempsy ($35) and said it was a great starter fish, that it's fine in a 20-gallon tall tank, and would be great partners with a school of glo-tetras. Well as expected they killed him not a day later. Turns out this fish is aggressive and gets up to 8 inches which needs a MUCH bigger tank. Returning fish is sketchy at best here. You need to bring in water and the dead fish, which I understand. They then take it back behind the tanks to run the tests, so who knows what is being said in regards to how your water is testing. I wouldn't trust if the blonde guy would do it because he's said such untrue info on fish to me before. If you try to contest or argue that you want to see it they say they cant bring it out. This has happened several times, to the point where I'm done. Which is a shame. They have a decent collection of fish there, and the GM Doug is super nice. Sadly I'm pretty sure he is one of two nice people there. The rest just don't seem to care.

Don't go here to buy worm or any other type of reptile food. I went in today and bought a 50 count…read moreof wax worms. It cost me over $8 after tax and I get home to see there is only 26 worms in the container. Not only is there 26 when I payed for 50 but three are dead. So out of a 50 count I got 23 worms my lizards will be able to eat. Very upset to see this.

They have all the usual stuff like horse feed, tools and clothes. They even had a silo in the middle of the store! How cool is this. They also sell power equipment along with parts. I couldn't even take it all in. I was here because I need 6 foot garden stakes and I didn't really like the selection they had. They only had two bundles of stakes and they were somewhat warped, and I passed on them. No other 6 foot garden stakes available. Overall, place is cool, and staffs super nice. I noticed they were setting up an outdoor garden center, but I didn't have the time or energy to go and look.

We headed over to Chow Hound because it was the closest place we found (about 25 min away) that had a self dog wash station. Upon arriving we saw a note on the door that said the dog wash station was closed (just our luck!). We decided to go in anyway to see if they could suggest somewhere else to go to get our dogs washed because they obviously would be much more familiar with the area than we were since we were just traveling through. We explained to the young man at the register that we were on an extended trip and we had driven all the way to their store to wash our dogs and asked him if he knew of another place nearby where we could go since their wash station was closed. To which he replied that no he didn't in a very disinterested and unhelpful manner. We went to the back of the store to try to find a treat for our dogs to reward them for being such good puppers when a woman, who seemed to be the manager, emerged from the back. She promptly asked us if she could help us and we explained as we had to the previous employee why we had come to the store and asked her if she could recommend somewhere else to go to wash our dogs. She seemed to genuinely empathize with our situation and told us the station was closed because they didn't have sufficient stock of clean towels but she thought she might have enough to at least accommodate us. Within a couple of minutes she reappeared with four clean towels and she escorted us to their dog wash room. The room was clean and extremely well stocked with brushes, cleaning supplies and several shampoos to choose from. The only thing that it seemed to be lacking was a whitening shampoo (a must since one of our dogs is a Westie and just loooves to roll around in the grass). The situation was easily resolved though as I was able to run out into the store and grab a bottle of whitening shampoo to buy. After washing our dogs we perused the store and picked out some treats for our fur babies. While we shopped two other employees checked in with us to see if we needed anything. We didn't but it was very kind of them to ask. The prices seemed reasonable for the treats. However other items like grooming tools were a little pricey. Overall, this was a nice little pet store. All of the employees we interacted with were great with the exception of the young man we first spoke with and we really appreciated the employee/manager who made such an effort to help us out.
