Husband took a battery in to exchange as it will not start the truck or hold a charge according to the battery charger we have. The salesgirl, who admitted she knows nothing about batteries or vehicles, would not remove a core charge because she said the tester showed it was good. After shopping at this store 10/17/22, I am very concerned for the health and well being of the rabbits at this Rural King location. I am an experienced rabbit mom. Rabbits need access to Timothy hay at all times to maintain property dietary health. These Rabbits had none. Rabbits should never be kept in a wire bottom cage. However, if they are, they need a rubber mat or bedding under their feet to avoid sore feet developing. These Rabbits had no bedding or mats. Rabbits need access to food. These Rabbits had no food. I contacted Rural King corporate customer service regarding the conditions of the rabbit cages in this store. They informed me that they are looking into it and will address it with management. I may never go back. The store is messy and dirty, even for a farm store. I had to ask two people to get directed to horse bedding. Then at the register I waited and waited because they couldn't find it in the computer. The guys behind me begged for them to give me the bedding. Repeated requests for help by the cashiers were ignored. I was asked over and over what I was using it for? We use it for cat litter. But I'm not sure why they needed to know. Finally someone went for the number. Where are managers Rural King? It was all very young cashiers. And no one knew much. I'm disappointed. read more

After years of driving by Rural King thinking they had nothing for me, I stopped in last summer and found out they had far more than I ever expected and have came back again, again, and again. This place has a little bit of everything and they offer shoppers free and fresh popped popcorn. Rural King carries a little bit of everything and I mean everything. I have purchased ammunition here, dog toys, Carharts, fishing equipment, Wolverine boots, rain gear, painting supplies, Yetis, snacks, a marine battery, a fish cleaning station, and more. I have found the employees are friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. The store is generally pretty well clean, organized, and well stocked. Their regular prices are pretty good in general and they have some pretty good sales so keep an eye out for their flyers. They are also a dog friendly store that allows you to bring your canine companions shopping with you. I have no problem recommending Rural King to anyone in Angola, Fremont, and surrounding communities or this chain to anyone. Did I mention their free popcorn that is really good? read more

I have been going to the Angola store since it opened. Over the years their idea of customer service has declined terribly. This store really makes you feel like you are a burden. So there we were, off to go camping, but we forgot the bug spray and chunk charcoal! We headed into town looking for a hardware store that might have what we need. As soon I saw Rural King, I thought it looked promising. Now, I am from the suburbs, and had never been in a farm supply store, so I was amazed at the selection that met my eyes! They had all sorts of (to me) exotic items. Things like live baby turkeys, bee-keeping stuff, an entire aisle of canning supplies and equipment, tack and farrier's tools, rabbit hutches, and pool equipment. They had an impressive selection of cast-iron cookware, unusual flavors of soda, hot sauce and old fashioned candies. We found our bug spray, but they were sold out of chunk charcoal. We got small blocks of hickory instead, which I'd never seen before. Since there was a sale on sandwich irons (you put sandwiches in them and cook over the camp fire) we got some of those too, as well as a galvanized washtub (for doing dishes), some clothes, a six-pack of birch beer and topped it off with a fishing license and some bait.
