The staff is so friendly and helpful (I left my glasses and notebook behind at a meeting and they had everything waiting for me to pickup the next day). The programming is top notch - I wanted to move here to just to take some of the classes! And the artwork! I'm obsessed with public art and this Center delivers. I kept finding little hidden gems sprinkled across the grounds and the building. The patio is lit with fairy lights and actually comfortable seating options. You can rent out any of the spaces for meetings or events. This is everything a community center should be. A model for other towns.

There's a back parking lot for the senior center. Easy to access. They seem to be lots of community engagement events and activities here. Love that! Then I asked Is this a senior center? ? He refused to answer these two basic questions with courtesy his response was (as he looked at his co-worker).... , "you'll have to go down the hall and ask them, at our gym. I said Is this a senior center ? He said " you'll have to go down the hall to ask the gym staff . ". !! WOW. How RUDE WAS THIS MAN there was no one else in the lobby except myself . He turned away ti glance at his coworker with a bizarre attitude that I asked a couple questions. I exited and walked away, still not knowing if this place was a Senior Center- because he refused to answer that question - I presented it 3 times to him. I just turned 65 a few days ago and I was excited to look around . He was by far the rudest associate out of two associates there at the front desk in an empty lobby. The other one turning her face away... I strolled to the gym and. Met an EXTREMELY NICE GAL ( short haircut Brunette) who welcomed me and she immediately answered my same question @ is this a senior center. She says YES ! She was a fabulous person that enjoyed her position there Now was that so hard - I say dump that guy - he doesn't know the first thing about customer service not now not ever , he was rude and unwilling to answer a couple of easy questions . They have a nice water dispenser, fresh popcorn, television, just a relaxing atmosphere to rest and meet others, and have pleasant conversations, It was 90° that day, and we just wanted to keep out of the sun and rest up, and use the restroom facilities. Under the impression that if there's any bad weather, this is a safe place to be. Plenty of handicap parking outside as well. The bulletin boards listed plenty of activities, written in large print, and there were volunteers, to assist. Just a nice place that should be noted.

Woo, rockin' the Senior Center! A coworker of mine took up line dancing a few years ago and she…read morelooked like she was having so much fun I wanted to try it out. She mentioned that she got her start taking a Lakewood Parks & Rec class at this place so I signed up. $40 for 8 weekly 45-minute sessions. So far I've attended three classes and I'm really enjoying it. The instructor, Janet, is really nice and fun and the 45 minutes just fly by, learning dances like Waltz Across Texas, Cowboy Hustle, and the El Paso Cha Cha. If you're looking for a Zumba-like workout this isn't it, but I do break a sweat and I figure any hobby that gets you moving is a good one! For the record, I am not a country music fan, but I don't mind it for this type of dancing. The Center itself is very nice, located in a quiet residential area near the corner of Lakewood and Candlewood. There is plenty of parking and we have our class in the spacious Activity Room. The best part has been feeling like a young whippersnapper (even though I'm 40) because most of my classmates are quite a bit older than me, hee hee!

Lake Forest Clubhouse is the senior center of City of Lake Forest. Many people come to play bingo,…read morecards, or table tennis, attend classes, or to use its computer lab. You will find free coffee in the kitchen side of the multi-purpose room. Community luncheon is only once a month, usually on the last Thursday of the month. My only complaint is its limited hours, only from 10am to 3pm, Mondays through Thursdays.
