Unbelievably great tasting crunchy sandwich handmade by two funny chefs. Very popular spot with…read morelines. We went on a nice rainy day - walked about a mile from the train station.. wow! that was worth it! We are a group of 10 people! We got mostly the Bobby Flay special, with nice pizza crust as the sandwich, pesto sauce , porchetta and stachiatella cheese .. I had a full sandwich and my niece also gave me half of hers with prosciutto and swiss ( she likes plain) and wow! I was savoring this ... and now it's imprinted in my palate. Also they had Bobby flay Picture on the wall. When we ordered they say " Thank You Bobby Flay!" and we laughed because they are very funny ! I have no pictures but will save money to go to Rome and visit them again!!!

Absolutely worth the hype. This was one of my favorite sandwiches ever! Second and third generation…read moreowners Claudio and Luca run this tiny storefront near Piazza del Popolo. When I arrived there was no line, so maybe I got lucky, just one couple in front of me already inside the shop. Take a number and wait your turn. It's worth it. Sandwiches are made on pizza bianca, a crisp and chewy flatbread native to Rome. They will fill your sandwich with whatever you like, and then weigh the sandwich to price it out. I got mortadella, stracciatella, pesto and sun-dried tomatoes. The sandwich was phenomenal, so delicious and memorable that I recreated it when I got home to the US, bread and all. The sandwiches may seem simple but the ingredients are the best around which really takes things to the next level. Don't miss it if you're in Rome.

My wife and I went to her first soccer game in Rome, and the offerings at the stadium food-wise…read moreare...not great. Combined with the insane crowds trying to get on buses and we decided to instead walk to a nearby neighborhood and catch a quick dinner there first. We found this location of the popular Italian chain here and decided to give it a try. There was a small line from people at the game but it moved quickly. Also noteworthy is there is no seating inside this location, but there are enough tables and stuff outside. Trapizzino is known mainly for bread pockets filled with various fillings. You need to pay attention because when they run out of one flavor, they'll replace it with an entirely different flavor. Same goes for their suppli (fried rice ball) varieties. All the varieties sounded delicious, but we went with their cacio e pepe suppli, chicken cacciatore trapizzini, and burrata/anchovy trapizzini. They're a bit tricky to eat since they aren't shy with filling up the bread and forks are nowhere to be found. But man, what a great concept. The food is fairly cheap but the flavors are so varied and such high quality that you forget you're basically eating chain street food. I wish I had more room for food so I could try things like their Ethiopian stew or meatball or whatever else could come out of that kitchen. My chicken one was juicy, herbal, and the right amount of saucy. My wife's burrata was rich, but not too much, and the salty punches of the anchovies helped cut through it. Whether this location or one of the others scattered around Rome, Trapizzino is a great place to refuel after all the walking you'd be doing.

Checked this place out bc one of my friends recommended it…read more All in all I thought it was ok. Pretty much Roman sandwiches stuffed with stuff and it's pretty flavorful. Also tried their fried rice balls. It was good but personally not amazingly good. A lot of locals go here so it's not bad food... I think it's a good place to grab a quick bite to eat. There's only like 3 small table/stools inside and most people just eat it on the go. I think my review might be a little biased Bc my friends and I walked 30-40min to eat here. And we struggled and got lost along the way as well. So when we finally found this place and got to eat here it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I don't think I'll ever go out of my way to come eat here again. If you're in the area and want to grab something quick to eat that's pretty good this place is your place. But I don't recommend coming here out of your way....

This place inside looks amazing and you can tell right away your sandwich will be worth your time!!! I got the BADA COME LA FUMA which had Porchetta, smoked provola, roasted potato cream, and spicy eggplant. What an amazing sandwich not to mention the bread perfect and fresh. My wife got the LA CHIANINA which had Marinated Chianina beef, stracciatella cheese, yellow and red tomatoes, and arugula Both sandwiches were definitely worth the hype and if I ever go back to Rome I'm definitely coming back here for sure!

Rome Day 5: A must-try Italian street food experience…read more.. While exploring Rome, we had to stop at All'Antico Vinaio for one of their famous schiacciata sandwiches. The bread, the flavors, the fresh ingredients, and the whole experience made this more than just lunch -- it was a taste of Italian food culture. Fun fact: All'Antico Vinaio started as a small family business in Florence in 1989 and became famous for its traditional Tuscan schiacciata sandwiches. Over time, it grew into an internationally recognized brand, with locations including Rome. What I loved most was being able to experience something that began as a local Italian tradition and has now become a place people travel to try. Another delicious memory added to our Rome adventure.
