Mike has the eye of a designer and the hands of a carpenter. Our home has never looked better! All I can say is book your job early! My husband and I bought a 125 year old fixer-upper 2 years ago with a small and severely neglected backyard. The before pictures don't show truly how horrifying it was. The yard was uneven, completely overgrown with weeds, broken and mismatched pavers; there was a 4-foot drop-off 6-feet from the back fence with a collapsing retaining wall that only went partially across the property. The drainage on the house was not properly routed which caused water damage in the basement and must have damaged the yard because the previous owners put down a 7x10 foot turf rug in its place. Visually, the yard was an embarrassment. The backyard neighbors even planted pine trees to block their view of our yard before we bought it. More importantly, it was incredibly unsafe. I nearly twisted my ankle just walking out there when we were first looking at the house. I wouldn't even let our dogs go out there, let alone our children. When Jose came for our consultation, he completely understood our vision for the space and talked us through exactly how he would make that a reality. The team just finished the job yesterday and it is even better than we imagined! Our yard is now a beautifully manicured oasis. They did such an incredible job that it looks like it was always well cared for. Looking at the final product, you would never know how much work they put in; truly a flawless job! The team built a beautiful and sturdy retaining wall, backfilled the drop-off, leveled and graded the yard, reinforced the posts and put the fence back up, installed a proper drainage system that routes away from the house, removed several metal chain-link fence posts, laid sod and designed a gorgeous Cambridge paving stone patio. We could not be more thrilled with the job they did. We will eventually updated the front yard and redo the driveway and we greatly look forward to working with Backyard Bros again. After 1 year of decent work, the customer service began to go down the drain quickly. I finally…read morefired them after asking to see if they could provide a lawn clean-up within a specific timeframe - e.g. "Can you come before Monday?". When the owner didn't really answer my question and responded he couldn't come Monday, I asked for a clarifying answer - did he mean he couldn't come on Monday, or anytime before Monday? Instead of just politely giving me an answer or saying "sorry, we're not available", the owner said no, and then took it upon himself to berate me with a curt "should've contacted me sooner." I didn't realize he was doing ME a favor in this business arrangement. At the last lawn mowing the previous year, I also found a large pile of grass clippings and various leaves debris piled up against one side of my fence, hidden behind my hydrangea bush which could have led to rot and mildew against my fence. When I brought it up, the owner said because we didn't pay him for official removal of the leaves, he felt it was fair for his team to leave the debris in my yard - instead of notifying me or calling me to ask me (when they were there) what we can do about it. It also didn't make sense because the debris pile consisted mostly of new grass clippings and not the mulched leaves. Another time, they came when I was home and the gate to the backyard was closed since it was about an hour earlier than when I usually expect them. Instead of ringing the doorbell or trying to call me, they decided to mow the front lawn and leave within 10 minutes. I had to text back noting that I saw the back lawn wasn't done before the team came back to do the job. One or two mishaps I'm ok with - even an increase in prices, which happened this year - but the attitude was the straw that broke the camel's back. Maybe they have more business now and don't need mine. They won't miss me, and I won't miss them and can no longer recommend them in good faith to anyone.

He said he would be here the next week and he showed up as promised. He tackled three jobs. First, we had some paver stones that settled below the cement causing a trip hazard. Pete made all the stones level. Second, we had some sidewalk slabs that were sticking up due to tree roots. Pete took care of the tree roots and put down nice new level cement slabs. Third, we had two cement sidewalk slabs that were tilting from ground settling. Pete took care of raising the slabs to level again. Overall, great job by a professional, friendly mason. I will definitely call Pete again when I have another job for him.
