My grandkids were amazed. This place is so well stocked with so many little different beautiful things. This is the store for Christmas shopping, birthday shopping and more than anything for stockings, I wished I saw this "real toy utopia" before last Christmas. But hey! I will be here at any excuse on 2025, making happier the children around me.

ET - phone home! Elliott!!!

Compared to most of the people I hang out with, I am an epic nerd, however, compared to many of the…read morepeople who will get giddy about Nerdities, I am simply a casual geek-culture observer. With that in mind, this is definitely a venue aimed at a particular group, but it certainly shouldn't make others feel shy about visiting. There is fun to be had for all. I first visited Nerdities at a Yelp Elite event during the gallery opening but have since visited on my own. I don't know if Nerdities is truly a different business than Mythical Mountain Comics but they are connected and appear to be just a different arm of the same business. Nerdities in a nut-shell is an "art gallery" of geek-culture inspired art and decor. When I went the first time I expected it to feel a bit more like an art gallery and less like a pop-culture store but definitely doesn't exactly fit the feel of a traditional art gallery. There are some very cool prints and sculptures to be had and everything is at very reasonable prices but I have to admit that I missed some of the high-end art that I expected. The few artists represented here have some neat stuff but very few items were limited editions or original pieces. If I am going to buy art I tend to prefer something that has a limited run or is an original work. I would have liked to see some well-known artists represented here that do stuff in the nerd world like Greg Guillemin, Olly Moss, Butcher Billy, or Mike Mitchell. There are also a ton of local artists that do some really geeky high-end stuff that could be represented as well. I do love the fact that once you are done on the artsy side you can just head over to Mythical Mountain and get your fill of comic stuff and toys. This place is definitely worth a visit.

It pains me to write this review because I genuinely wanted this partnership to succeed…read more In January 2026, I partnered with Maria at Coastal Elements to host Mahjong lessons. The classes were successful, bringing customers into the store and creating a fun community event. I was excited to support another woman-owned business. I received one payment in February 2026 for approximately four weeks of lessons. After that, I continued teaching throughout March, April, and May. Despite repeated requests for payment, I was given various reasons for the delay and assured that payment was coming. I even offered to accept installment payments if that would help. Unfortunately, payment never arrived. For months, I attempted to resolve this matter privately through texts, phone calls, in-person conversations, and follow-up requests. I ultimately sent a certified demand letter, which was received, yet I am still awaiting payment for services that were provided months ago. I take responsibility for not having a more detailed written agreement in place. However, I firmly believe that when work is completed as agreed, payment should be made in a timely manner. I do not write this out of anger. I simply want to be paid for the work I performed. My hope is that Coastal Elements will honor its commitment and resolve this matter without further action.

If you love comics and pop culture in general, you really need to stop by this store. We try to stop in whenever we're over in Mandarin. While I've never been big into comic books, I've always loved pop culture collectibles. I know they can't carry everything in store but every time we're in there I'm amazed by how much they do have on hand. Sure, there are huge online stores that you can order tons of things from but like always, I'd rather support a local Jacksonville business if at all possible. Especially if it's a place I've received great customer service from before and that's the case with Mythical Mountain. We've called ahead before when we were looking for gifts and had them remember the call hours later when we got to the store and helped us find the perfect gift. I took a few pics to share but I still don't think it gives you a good idea of how much stuff they have in the store. I didn't find anything I wanted to pick up today but my wife found a Mick Foley action figure that she bought for herself, so that's a win for America. If you needed any further proof of the level of customer service and care they provide, you don't really need to look further than the most recent post I made about them in the the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group. I posted a recap of our most recent visit in the group and mentioned the part you just read about how I didn't find anything then I mentioned that I need to call them some time to see if they can get their hands on one of the Michael Jackson figures made by Blitzway because they seem like the type of store that might be able to get that type of thing. Then I went on to say that even if they can't get it, I'd still rather try if I can go through a local place first before somewhere online. Within minutes, the store owner left a comment asking me to send her a DM with information on what I'm looking for to see if she can help. See what I mean? You can't get that kind of customer service from any online store, no matter how big and bad they are... If you like stuff like this, stop in at Mythical Mountain in Mandarin some time. Even if collectables or comics aren't your thing, I bet you could find a gift for someone you know at this store with ease. As I mentioned, a version of this post originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group.

I typically love this store! I can find anything from work out stuff, makeup, shampoos/ hair…read moreproducts, and they always have the best kitchen and specialty aisle! The clothes are nice and good priced. But can be a hit or miss in quality. I have bought some bras that I thought fit well. And after I got home they really didn't work. And then fell apart really fast. Nothing like a wire popping out and stabbing you. Also I used to go here for good quality hands free phone holders.. the last few have broke on me. The backs on them have gone down hill. The cashiers are typically fast, even though they are good at what they do, and put you through a maze of looking through stuff, while you wait for a cashier, so you buy extra that you didn't come in for. I bought some cute nail stickers here, that lasted longer then the color stay, and was only 4.99. I received so many compliments. Glad to see the fitting rooms back up and running. I never understood the whole fitting rooms closing so long during covid. Sorry you can't try our clothes on in the store, but you can buy them and return them if they don't fit. Your still trying the clothes on. Did you think someone was going to lick the walls, or doors or something?

Writing this review for the terrible customer service in this location…read more Yesenia, one of the cashier was very rude and definitely hated her job. I went there to return 2 items that I had purchased online. Labels attached and receipt on hand. She took a deep breath and made me feel like I was committing some sort of fraud. Meanwhile I was purchasing at least $250 worth of items and returning just 2 pieces of clothing. I asked to speak with a supervisor but never showed up. I will take this matter further, because I love Tjmaxx and don't want to stop shopping because of this location.
