They do a great job, are reasonably priced, and do their best to accommodate your needs (in my case working with my situation versus replacing completely). I have gotten work down from them twice and have referred family members here as well. The first time I had work done here 5+ years ago after getting into an accident. I discovered Toyo Cars by word of mouth and was not disappointed. They were cheaper than the Penske collision center (now ProCare Automotive and Collision) and their work of higher quality. Toyo cars even retouched paint on scratches located elsewhere on my car free of charge. Recently, a mail box took out the actual mirror portion (in one piece, no cracks) of my side mirror, but everything else was left in tact. I taped my mirror into place as best as I could and immediately went to Honda nearby hoping they could just reattach it. They took maybe 30 seconds (didn't remove tape to get a better look) before stating they could "fix it" by replacing the entire side mirror ($$$), but they did not have part in stock and would need to order it. Because I am back in town for the holidays, this was not the most appealing option. At that moment, I decided to go to Toyo Cars because I trusted that he would at least TRY to see if my mirror could be attached back without replacing the whole unit and I was right. There was no wait time, he went straight into problem-solving mode and was able to reattach my mirror within 20 min. He was very forthcoming and clear that while he was able to adhere it, due to the original damage, I could not move mirror up or down with buttons anymore (though I can still do so manually). Once I have more time and want to fully replace my side mirror unit, I definitely plan to get it done at Toyo Cars. I am very pleased and would definitely recommend coming here! read more

My car was sick. It need some TLC, a brake job, and something to cure its check-engine-light ills. I took it first to a general auto repair place that a friend suggested. They seemed fair and honest, but I think they had trouble diagnosing the problem. Their quote: $1800. Egad! Then I took it to Toyocars for a second opinion. A budget conscious friend of mine used to take her older Toyotas there all the time when her cars started acting up. Their cost for repair was $850. I am so happy to have found this place! After trying Meineke, Brake Check, and the other local fluid change shops, none could do the closed transmission fluid change on my FJ Cruiser. I found Toyocars who informed me it could be done at their shop in just a few hours. The owner asked me if I wanted a quote on body work from a wreck I had been in several months ago. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, he had kindly buffed out the scrape down the side of my car for free! Also, Mr. Amir was very knowledgeable and made sure all my concerns were explained and taken care of. My 2009 Corolla is my baby and it was nice to drive off knowing all was handled. Worst place EVER!! I wouldn't go back even if the service was free for the life of my car. They couldn't even do a simple timing belt change. They first gave my car back with a 2000rpm idle...COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE...I took it back. Second time, they gave it back with a 1500rpm idle and shaking worst than an off balance washing machine...COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE...I took it back again. The third time, with five or six guys under the hood trying to figure out how to fix it (AFTER they call me to pick it up because it was ready), I decided to take my car home before they completely destroyed my engine. I am presently letting Mazda fix what these guys destroyed. What a horrible $850 nightmare! read more

I took my Toyota corolla on march 18 2019 there. they told me it would take 2 hours to find the problem they never call me for the rest of the day I had to call the next morning just to find out the car was exactly the way I left it. Mr S amir I was told was praying when I got there just to tell me what I already new low compression on cylinder one. That was nothing new off course I new that I had been working on that car for a month all kind of test were already done but had hopes that they would be honest and professional and not lying to me right after praying that he did a smoke test for vacuum leak worth $125 and a compression test $60 for working almost a day and half and charge me $95. It was all a lie they never did anything to it he ask a bunch of questions in advance just to use it in his favor or against me. I told them from the beginning the car had code P0301 on it . When I first took my Prius in for an estimate there was an older woman who had been bringing her cars for over 40 years. That kind of loyalty comes from trust. I found her trust to be well-founded. Toyocars is tucked away off the South Loop, so you have to hear about it word of mouth as I did. The many years that I have now been Amir's customer testify to my satisfaction with the service I have received. He and his guys kept my Honda hybrid going for 10 years, and when it was time to trade cars, he helped me by checking out each used Prius that I was considering until we found a good one. Most places have a fee for that service, but Amir did it free of charge. But actually, what impresses me the most about Amir, beyond the skill and knowledge of his crew, is his caring and considerate treatment of the customer. Over the years, I have come to respect him as a person, and I hear the same from other customers I encounter there. This place is awesome. I was checking out a car I was planning to purchase, and called the first highly rated mechanic on Yelp to ask about a pre-purchase inspection (BAR). The guy told me he didn't know much about Nissans, but I should give Toyo Cars a call. They offered to get me right in if I could get over there quickly, so I headed over. First of all, the guy at the front desk (he struck me as an owner type, but IDK), was hilarious. Super dry sense of humor, quick-witted, but also really nice and willing to answer my many questions. He knew what he was talking about, and wasn't shy about telling me the deal. I felt really well taken care of, and like this was someone I could trust. He gave me an easily understood, plain English rundown of the car and told me to come back if I need anything. It may be a while b/c he's an hour from my house, but I imagine if my car (I did end up buying it!) needs any major repairs, I'll be heading to him. read more
