I called and got an appointment for the same day. They have a dressing room, iron for clothes and really good lighting. Price was $175 for 6 untouched images in 72 dpi (website quality). Since I'm a graphic artist, I retouched it myself. Price is different if you need photoshop, airbrush, skin touch up. The whole experience has been a disaster. It's been such a disaster that I don't even want any of the photos because it would only remind us of the terrible experience. And that's fine that I don't want the pictures because the owner Alan wants to keep them ransom anyways. Alan charges for literally anything and everything. The cost to just sit in the studio and have your picture taken is $275. Just to be there. And it goes up from there. Here's the additional pricing that we received after having spent the time to get our portrait taken. My 104 yr old grandfather's wish is to take a family portrait (all his kids and grandkids etc...) before he passes. I think he's pretty healthy but he likes to debate with me. Anyhow onto the family portrait! The stars aligned this past Christmas 2017 and the entire family happen to be in town. However everyone was scheduled to leave right after Christmas. On Christmas Eve, I called 5 studios but not a photographer was stirring, no even my (laptop) mouse. I noticed the "My Alhambra Card" and decided to check if there were any studio recommendations. I found Toyo Miyatake Studio and anxious to fulfill grandpa's wishes, I emailed them. Alan was quick to reply and very pleasant. His prices seemed high (compared to the online ads I saw who were not willing to accommodate 49 people) so I was desperate. We talked about the price and what I would get (10 poses, 1 photograph, some digitals). But oh boy trying to get 49 people in on time for a portrait was exciting. We arrived for our appointment. It was beautiful chaos. My family members took more poses than Alan and I agreed on but he didn't charge us extra. Some even went to change their clothes and he was accommodating. Our 2 hour session quickly became 4, but Alan remained in high spirits and everybody was genuinely smiling. Alan continued to give us discounts from the sitting fee, to printing, and also for the digital photos. In the end we got more than we bargained for and everyone was so happy. The photos are of very high quality and the framing is just perfect. My grandfather even said this was the happiest moment of his life! Note: I do believe some of the poses could have been better aligned but I also understand the crazy chaos of the day; especially when he had other appointments backed up because we went way over time. read more

A few months before the wedding, we consulted with him for over an hour and got the feeling that he had a firm understanding of what kind of photos we wanted. I ordered pre school pictures back in March from My child's school. I paid for package D which gives three different poses this also comes with a class photo. Weeks later I received the photos, which had the incorrect class year 2019-2020. In-addition, I received one standard pose and not the three different pose that comes with package D. I reached out to Toyo Miyatake Studio to rectify the matter. I was informed there were a total of three orders on file, a package A and 2x package D. I explained that one of those orders were overcharged and should be canceled. I explained that I had attempted to use the promo code, provided by the school, which did not work. I elaborated that I had paid cash for the original order then paid again due to the fact that the promo code did not work. I requested Mr. Allan cancel one of the orders and make a refund being this was a clear mistake. The manager Mr. Allan states, "I don't understand your logic. Give me your name and number and give me until tomorrow to come up with a solution." To which I responded the solution seems clear in this matter; Mr. Allan simply cancel one of the orders and refund the money. There are so many reasons to be upset here; one Toyo Miyatake used the wrong class year, they also failed to deliver on the correct package, lastly, I was charged twice. This was a simple mishap to fix, but instead the owner Mr. Allan argued with me stating he did not see my point when it was clear as day. When something is wrong or incorrect just fix the problem. In this case, refunding one of the orders is the right thing to do. To add insult to injury I tried to cancel out the orders completely, however, Mr. Allen said, "I will cancel out the orders but I will not refund your money, " to which he laughed. This will be reported to the Better Business Bureau, my credit card company for services not delivered and to the school for a resolute. No parent should have to go through this amount of trouble for their child's preschool pictures. read more
