I made a spontaneous decision to reach out to Jim for pre-wedding photos after seeing the sweet, natural, and artistic photos that he took for my friend. It was proven to be great decision! We're very satisfied with our photos, and Jim is easy to work with and is creative. He has a special set of eyes where he'd find beautiful angles in places that you'd not expect. Highly recommend Jim for great photography. read more

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Jim for both our pre-wedding shoot and our wedding day, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, he was professional, thoughtful, and so talented at capturing genuine moments. Our pre-wedding shoot felt completely effortless -- Jim gave us just the right amount of direction to bring out our natural selves (and even included our dog in such a sweet way), so the photos feel authentic rather than posed. On the wedding day, he somehow managed to capture every meaningful detail and emotion while blending seamlessly into the background. The photos are everything we hoped for and more, and we know we'll treasure them forever. We couldn't recommend Jim more highly to anyone looking for a photographer who brings both artistry and genuine care to his work. read more

Jim Lee Vision - Event Photography Near Me

As soon as I saw Jim Lee's portfolio, I knew I wanted to choose him as our prewedding photographer. We really loved his style and the candid shots he captured for other couples. His style is unique and he's able to capture the perfect shot from various angles while effectively telling a story. Jim is a dedicated photographer that would go to great lengths to accomplish his goal. Jim traveled with us to upstate Hudson Valley and hiked the Kaaterskills Fall with us to capture the most amazing shots. He worked diligently the entire day with no complaints either. Jim has a distinctive vision to capture everyone's love story. Jim truly takes passion in his photography work and puts it above all. Jim is easy to get along with and easy to talk to. He gave us great outfit suggestions for our shoot that worked very well with our locations. Jim is an artist and his photos are breathtakingly beautiful. Everyone LOVES our photos. Surely, you know you love your photos when you can't narrow it down to 30 final pics or only choosing just 5 photos to display!! read more

Jim and his team managed to capture the essence of our wedding. They have great eyes for details and creatively using space and items within the space to create stories. There is energy in a lot of their photos and my now wife was particularly pleased with the lens angles that they used. Other pluses: Punctual and were generally on time, we had a 200+ people wedding and so Jim brought a 2nd assistant at no extra charge (really helpful), non-intrusive picture taking, very accommodating to multi-cultural needs (they capture Catholic ceremony and Chinese Banquet well and accommodated parents dictating massive family pictures). read more

We first came across Jim's work while researching wedding photographers. His work simply stood out from the rest. His work just pops and tells a story. We signed up for his pre-wedding services with high expectations and we were not disappointed. Throughout the 6 hours of photography, he walked us through every scene and every pose. The results show the care and effort he puts into every single shot. Could not recommend him enough! read more

Jim is the best photographer we have ever met! He is particularly specialized in wedding /pre-wedding photo shoot. What we love most of is his skills in doing portraits, capturing those trivial moments and emotions of us interacting which can present the unique chemistry between us in the pictures. Not every photographers pay such attention to details as Jim. The professionalism starts in the way how he tried to understand our stories, our needs and our preferred style. We both loved the nature and he brought us to many pretty places including the forrest, national park, lake side, farmland and the vineyard. I remember we started early in the morning and ended in the late evening. We really appreciate his patience and enthusiasm. Regardless of the cold weather and long shooting hours (and the hunger as we didn't had enough food on the road ) he made sure we can have all the sceneries from the morning clear sky to the stunning sunset by down. The dinner after that night was so rewarding and fulfilling as we all know we have had a lot of great photos despite the long day! We even did some indoor casual shootings which are so funny and definitely a bonus to our wedding album! So hard to pick as there are too many favorites, but here are some to share our happinesses :) It was such a wonderful trip and amazing experience shooting with Jim. We are so glad to have Jim and are actually planning to hire Jim again for another set of photos! read more

When we were introduced to Jim, his work immediately caught our attention. It was apparent that his style was unique, but what stood out to us the most was his ability to tell a story and capture authentic feelings through his lens. We hired him to be our engagement and wedding photographer, and it was one of the best decisions we made. We had high expectations to begin with, but Jim still blew them away after we saw just how special the photos turned out to be. We will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives. Working with Jim was an absolute pleasure. He was professional, communicative, and accommodating to our changing needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a trustworthy photographer to capture once-in-a-lifetime events, like weddings. Thank you, Jim! read more

Jim helped us with our engagement photoshoot in Joshua tree. He responded quickly every time I wechat him, from choosing a location to picking out outfits, Jim provided feedbacks with professional point of view. I was worrying that we didn't know how to pose nor working with professional camera, but it turns out there's nothing to worry about because Jim is a kind of photographer who can not only take amazing photos but also guide you how to pose. Location wise, you don't need to concern if you've picked a location you've never been. Jim will do his research before hand, and also, he could be very spontaneous when he saw a epic background, he would just go and start taking photos randomly. Which was very fun and full of surprises when you saw the pictures and you realized : "Now I know why he chose this spot". Jim insists the best for the photos, that's why I followed his instructions and never had a doubt. The pictures turned out Amazing! Everyone complimented our photos. We knew we've picked the right photographer. Jim speaks English, Chinese Mandarin and also Cantonese. Highly recommend to the couples who are considering hiring a photographer, Jim is the best! read more

We had our wedding on 7/6/19 and couldn't been any happier for picking Jim as our photographer. I spent months looking for a photographer as I just couldn't find the right one. My coworkers at work had hired Jim for their engagement photos, and I fell in love with his work! The touch of journalism that captures each moment realistically with a dreamy feels, is exactly what I was looking for on my wedding day! With Jims creative angles and flexibility, along with his documentary style intertwined with romance and a vintage look, he gave me wedding photos beyond my expectations. During our wedding day, Jim was early and prepared with his team, adjusting to our schedule and the hectic-ness. He was alway calming and told us that the best photo would be our natural self and being relaxed. While at the park, despite the heat and time constrain, Jim help captured the most perfect creative formals for us, as well as grooms and bridal party photos. His attention to details and his ability to utilize natural photo props comes naturally for him! Another must of having Jim as our photographer was the ability of him to capture the joy of the guest enjoying the party, which was essential to me as part of my wedding photo collection. After the wedding, Jim was quick in his turnaround time and sneak peaks so that we didnt have to wait anxiously for these beautiful photos. He was also patient in working on different filters and picking photos that best captured the moment. We had so many photos and we couldn't be happier with Jim's work! We loved how every photo reminds us of exactly how that moment felt.  If you are looking for a reliable and talented photographer then look no furthre! Really looking forward to working with Jim again for future photo needs. read more

Jim is the best photographer! We found him through Instagram, chatted with him a couple times, and met in person to discuss our requirement before hiring him for our pre-wedding photo shoot. Jim Lee is amazing. We hired him for our wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. He and his team did an incredible job. Starting with booking the vendors, I knew what I liked and what I didn't like, and immediately seeing Jim Lee's website and works, I knew that he had to be the one to do my wedding. Fortunately, he is a steal. Less than $3000, which is way more affordable compared to a lot of other photographers. And for that price, you get 8-9 hours of shooting, 2 photographers, and 600-900 digital photos without watermark. Now, that is an incredible value, especially after you see how well crafted, detailed and gorgeous his photos are. Communicating with Jim Lee was a breeze. We didn't really want to meet or even had time to meet with many vendors prior to our wedding, so Jim Lee was flexible, and let us just facetime him. Very flexible in letting me dictate what I wanted specifically when we were doing the contract (ie, which shoots I wanted, etc.). Fast forward to the day of, him and his team showed up early! Wonderful as it allowed more shooting time. He didn't even charge us for the extra hours of work. Another wonderful surprise is that not only did he have his second photographer, but also an assistant. So Jim Lee did his thing at our wedding, unintrusively yet still managing to capture everything. We got our photos roughly 1.5 months later, and they are beautiful. I can't stop looking at them. He shared over 100 on facebook, which saved me the trouble of selecting the best ones (I can't, they're all too good, haha!). Then I got a mailed DVD (3 DVDs with our faces printed on them, a nice touch.) There were over 1300 photos. Thank you Jim Lee for capturing my wedding. Everyone raves about our photos. My maid of honor even considered flying him to California for her wedding! read more

We booked Jim for our engagement and wedding for fall 2020. Due to covid, our wedding plans for 2020 were pretty much out the window. Jim was super understanding when we had to reschedule our engagement shoot several times due to the pandemic. After months of delay, we were finally able to take our long awaited engagement pictures that we are now calling elopement pictures. My husband and I were super nervous about the shoot for several reasons. We've never had a photo shoot before so we were really worried about us looking natural and just being able to have nice photos. We were also nervous about taking pictures outdoors in a public area. Rest assured, Jim made us super comfortable and even had his own tricks up his sleeve that made our pictures turn out beautiful! He was prepared and carried extra hand sanitizers and masks. He had his mask on the whole time and we put ours on when we were around others. At the end of the shoot, Jim gave us an ETA of the turn around time. We were in no rush as our wedding has been postponed to over a year from our original date. However to our surprise, he had our pictures ready in a week and even provided the retouched pictures within a week as well. This was all done ahead of the time he had provided and a lot earlier than we were expecting. We can't wait to work with Jim again on our wedding reception day with our family and friends. I look forward to the memories he will be able to capture with our close loved ones. Don't hesitate to reach out to him if you're looking for a photographer for your special day. He truly captured our our emotions and love for each other. Amazing work! read more

Time has flown by since our engagement session - my husband and I got married and Jim and his team were thankfully there to capture the day! There is nothing more than I can say other than that Jim and his team were perfect. He brought two assistants with him - Yangzi and Itten - who were also amazing photographers so it was really nice to have photos in different styles. Him and his team were so friendly, efficient and unobtrusive and made such a hard job look so effortless. Everyone was praising him and his team all night about how hardworking and patient they were. I knew Jim was amazing because we did our engagement session with him, but I was a little bit nervous because my bare parents' house and a Chinese restaurant are not the best environment to capture wedding photos. However, Jim and his team worked their magic and the pictures were absolutely phenomenal. We were absolutely blown away!! They capture the day perfectly and tell such a happy story. read more

Jim is so talented, so friendly, so patient and so professional as a photographer! At my first introduction to Jim's art work, I was actually a little hesitant - I was not so confident at myself and my husband for taking such candid photos. We are not great at posing nor understand anything about angles, but I have to say, Jim made everything go so effortlessly! We scheduled with Jim in March for our pre-wedding photos in June. He gave advices and recommendations about location, outfit and flowers. He also tried to get to know our stories and our hobbies so we can arrange for settings to best tell our story. Unfortunately we landed on a day with clouds and thunderstorm in the forecast. I was really worried until Jim said "we can get even more saturation with photos during this weather". During the day of the shooting, everything went so nicely, everyone was laughing and joking despite the gloomy weather, and we took pictures until everyone felt satisfied that we got something great before we called it a finish (although there is a time limit, we did not feel rushed at all). Lastly, I would choose Jim again for future events just because I know I can trust him for quality and candid photos!!! read more

Jim is a great photographer and artist. I had Jim for my engagement photo and wedding photo. He is not just taking the perfect pictures, but also in the pictures he took, he told our story. He made sure to give us honest advice on what is best for the photoshoot in terms of shooting time, outfits, makeup... etc. I think this is the best purchase of my whole wedding planning. My husband and I had a winter wedding on 12/7/18 in DUMBO, Brooklyn at 26 Bridge. We researched a lot of photographers beforehand and once we saw Jim's photos we knew he was our guy. He is not your typical wedding photographer, his photos are artistic and unique. He has an eye for special locations, beautiful moments, and the beauty in people/relationships. We did a first look and he found the coolest location at the top of Saint Anne's warehouse with bridge views, then we went on a walk to the venue and on the way, stopped and took epic photos in other various places. When we got our photos back, we were BLOWN AWAY. They are incredible and I am forever grateful to Jim for his hard work and passion. He also got the photos back to us only 2 weeks after the wedding. Literally, every one of the 800 something photos were so good. His English is not perfect, but do not let this be a reason for not hiring him. It didn't matter at all. He was perfect over email leading up and on the day of it wasn't an issue. He directed us perfectly. He is one of the most talented wedding photographers in my opinion. The second photographer that Jim brought, Chen, was also great. If you are looking for an artist and a true talent (not just your typical cheesey wedding photographer), hire Jim! read more

The albums on Jim's website and Facebook caught my eye and I decided to have him as my photographer for my pre-wedding. He was very responsive and gave us advice on the venue and our outfit before the pre-wedding day. We shared our thoughts and he also gave us suggestions which were very helpful. The weather forecast on our scheduled day was terrible and he suggested to move to one day before which turned out to be a perfect sunny day. Everyone was perfect on the day. We went to many places in the city and he could find decent spots that I have never thought of. He could capture our beautiful and natural moments during the day. You can tell he is more than a photographer. He is an artist and he not only fulfils our requests but also make sure the quality is up to his professional standard. Jim Lee is professional and a visionary. While searching for a photographer for our wedding, it was important for us to find someone who was more than just a person snapping shots. We wanted someone with an eye for photography, a true artist. After seeing some of Jim Lee's work, we were instantly sold. We booked him for our wedding in April 2017 and also decided to do an Engagement Photo Shoot this past July. Jim made us feel very comfortable and natural. He gave great direction while preserving the genuine moments between the two of us. He is creative and definitely knows what he is doing. We recently got the photos back and I am in complete awe. Usually I'm lucky to find a few photos taken that I actually like. In this case, when we were asked to pick a few of our favorites, it was just about the hardest thing we had to do! Jim Lee Vision - Event Photography Near Me

We had picked Jim lee to be our photographer during our wedding and pre-wedding photoshoot. To be honest it was a very impulse decision since our wedding was a bit rush. However, my wife and I loved the style that Jim posted on his Facebook and decided to let him to be our photographer along the way. Even though it is a very impulse decision but his work is phenomenal and everyone in our family loved the photos that he took for us. Also his professionalism, his dedication on taking a good photo made us understand how hard is to be a model and take an awesome picture. All his edits and his photo taking skills are wonderful and if today anyone asked me to recommend him a great photographer, I believe Jim would be the first one come up on my mind. To be honest, Jim made our Wedding party better and captured alot of great moments for us. My wife and I both believed that going through this experience, we earned a friend more than just knowing a new photographer. 10/10 Recommended. read more

Jim is a phenomenal photographer and handily took care of my wife and me through our special day. He is highly responsive (we get replies within a day), accountable (gave an estimate when pictures will be ready and meets that deadline), and professional (understood what we wanted through emails and accommodated our style through the day). He took us through Brooklyn Heights to Dumbo and covered multiple angles without staging us, so we were extremely comfortable letting him snap away. His pace is pleasant, we didn't feel rushed, and he listened to some of our ideas along our stroll through his spots. Jim's editing is delightful, we limited ourselves to 10 pictures out of the large set of gorgeous pictures he sent to us. In addition, we needed a picture for our banquet and Jim accommodated our urgency by getting the pictures to us in record fashion. We thoroughly recommend Jim as he is professional, courteous, and understanding about his clients. Many thanks Jim! read more

Since we would not spend too much time in New York, I did lots of research about New York photographers. I am so impressed by Jim's photographing style, because I can tell a story from his photos. After we worked with him, I do feel Jim is really different from other photographers. He did not ask us to hold any pose. He just catches every beautiful moment naturally and makes us so comfortable. I don't think we are very photogenic, but have pictures taken by Jim, it's more like someone recording our trip invisible. Especially, we have a 5 yrs old naughty boy, Jim was so patient to play with him and meanwhile captured each vivid image of my family. Jim's work is more like an artist than a photographer. If I could come up another chance to have family trip shooting, I would never hesitate to invite Jim again. read more

Jim was an amazing photographer! We hired Jim for our engagement photos, and we are so happy with the quality of the photos we got - they are outstanding. I often joke with my friends that I wish I could pay Jim to follow me around photographing my life because he infuses every photo with this beautiful, romantic, whimsical, better-than-life quality. We were initially a little awkward about posing, but Jim worked with us and helped make the process feel natural. He also does a lot of non-posed shots or ones with movement that result in candid appearing beautiful photos. He is very professional and clearly seasoned in the industry, so he also had a lot of good advice about other aspects of wedding planning - makeup, florists, etc. He was in touch with me early on before the shoot to hash out details about my clothes, bouquet/props, hair/makeup, and he is very clearly invested in producing good photos. Even if you don't have a clear vision for your photos, he will guide you and make sure you take the steps during the prep process to have beautiful photos. The day of he actually went overtime with us because he wanted to hit all of the planned locations. He made sure to include locations we wanted to shoot at, and also suggested some amazing spots including this one cafe in Brooklyn where my favorite photos are from. Jim is so professional! He took prewedding and wedding pictures for us. The service is excellent, and all the photos are awesome!

My fiance and I had the pleasure of working with Jim for our pre-wedding photo shoot. Jim is so nice and so responsive to our needs. We had an emergency situation where we needed a photographer asap because we ran out of time waiting on quotes from other photographers. Luckily his pictures on yelp caught my eye and I immediately contacted him. Within the hour, he had responded, gave us a quote and remained just as responsive throughout our time working with each other. He answered all of our questions patiently and went above and beyond to help us with our time sensitive situation. We are super thankful for all his efforts. His photos are amazing even before editing and his framing is spot on. Even though we had less than ideal weather conditions for our shoot, he didn't let any opportunities slip by. In fact, he brought out the best of us in every step of the way and was always looking for the next best shot. Overall, we highly recommend him and definitely want to work with him again in the future. Thank you Jim. You're the best! read more

Jim Lee and his team are true professionals. I was referred to him through my florist Shus Flowers. I immediately loved the feel of his work that I saw on his website. Lots of creativity and fun! Our scheduling worked out and he was able to do my wedding date. Jim recommending my makeup artist Coco whom he works with often. I showed Jim who I wanted to use for makeup but said Coco might be a better fit for a more soft, natural wedding glow. The original makeup artist I had in mind was more for high fashion so might come off more harsh. So Jim and his team really consider all the details. So less than 6 weeks after my wedding our pictures were ready. Originally, I was given a slightly longer lead time, but it's always better to be pleasantly surprised. My husband and I and all our family and friends love how the pictures turned out. It was really important that the pictures captured the emotions of everyone there. Jim and his team did exactly that perfectly. Also, I'm not the skinniest bride but I feel like I look beautiful in the pictures. :) My brother is getting married 2 months after my wedding, so now we are literally a few weeks out from my brother's wedding. My future sister in law loved our pictures by Jim so much she booked her wedding photos with Jim and cancelled her original photographer -- basically last minute. Jim thanked me for the referral but I just said his work speaks for itself. I can't think of a bigger compliment as a professional artist than someone changing their major wedding vendor last minute just to get the best! read more

The reviews here speak for themselves! My wife and I are extremely pleased with the services Jim offered during our pre-wedding photo shoot at Palm Springs (our first time there) in spring 2019. Prior the trip, Jim communicated frequently about every detail, for instance, the logistics, the color of flowers, and texture/color of clothes. His responsiveness took a lot of the stress of our shoulders, especially we were traveling from Seattle. Jim was very polite and kind throughout the full day of shoot. I admire his professional attitude and persistence. Because of his unique artistic sense and efficiency, we were able to cover four themes (JT, Salvation Mt., Bombay beach, and Pioneer town) within a day!!
