Toy & Comic Heaven is a combination retro/collectable toy and long box comic book shop, with some video game and trading card options. It almost borders the Willow Grove Park Mall, so depending on what direction you're coming from, traffic can be an issue. They have a decent amount of parking that's shared with several of the building's tenants, and the shop has two entrances. Retro toys are the shops primary specialty and they are located everywhere, but have good organization. Higher value items are located behind glass and the staff are helpful if you want to view something. Comics are in well-organized long boxes with most being older books, and they have a wall book selection. They don't carry new pull comics. Some value long boxes were available. They also carry a selection of video games and trading cards. Toy & Comic Heaven is arguably underrated for the organization and value in its selection. It's absolutely worth visiting. read more

This is my favorite store in the entire world and it's owned by a wonderful guy named James! I'm very sad to hear that he's closing for good soon so get yourself there ASAP! His prices are unbeatable, he's closed on Mondays and will only be in Tuesday on Thanksgiving week. Before that one of a kind toy you got for Christmas as a kid, favorite comic book, or any original Star Wars figure from the original movies are gone I recommend you either give him a call or drop by before you are forced to buy his incredibly priced toys online plus shipping and sometimes not even getting what you paid for get there ASAP! I have surgery on Tuesday, but I am going there directly after and buying a couple hundred dollars worth of his merchandise that's actually worth at least double that! He has a bin full of Star Wars figures and I mean original good shape for $11 each and I've been picking up at least two or three every single time and every time I've sold them to friends for at least $20 and then one case I bought a beautiful Luke Skywalker for a great price and someone at my brothers garage offered me $100 for it! I sold the action figure I went back and got that one again and two more! God bless and good luck James , you've always been a very cool dude! read more

Place is an absolute joke. Drove 45 minutes to their "store" (I use the term loosely based upon the horrendous, unkempt layout) only to be told that they do not offer CGC grading services on weekends. This is not something stated on their website. I will not be returning. read more

3 months later and the owner decides to just now respond to my review by lying and insulting a customer. Perfectly illustrates my point. Your employee was most definitely not eating. He was standing behind the register looking at some stuff that had just come in and was actively pricing them. He also only seemed to be "eating" when I was looking away. also recall yo guys talking about getting something for lunch so yeah ... don't insult my intelligence I'm far from stupid. Second the tub of broken transformer toys had not been priced yet bc they just came in and according to YOU, you had nothing to do with them. He pulled the $10.00 price out of his butt on the spot bc he felt 'pressured' bc you essentially threw him under the bus by deflecting back to him so he was pressured. He didn't even look at them for more than a couple seconds. In terms of the dim lighting either you didn't have all the lights turned on or the place is so craptastic that the depressing atmosphere and bad attitudes of the employees and owners makes the place seem even less hospitable. After leaving your shop we went to Brave New Worlds down the block and the store was generously lit, friendly staff, and everything they had out was properly marked with a reasonable and fair price. Also you may claim to be a 'collectable' shop but your stuff is all jumbled and in complete disarray. I can't see any reasonably serious collector going in there to find anything unless they specifically wanted something that has dings and dents. I would know because I AM a collector so I am quite familiar with these kinds of shops. If you want to see a really nice shop Emerald City in Clearwater, Florida is an excellent example of new and used collectables. Priced fairly and employees keep their cussing for out of the ears of minor children. They assist customers before and after they ask for help, they are brightly lit, organized, treat their customers with common decency, etc I could go on but basically they are everything you are not. I guess I'll hear from you in another 3 months but just know. I'm not interested in anything that has to come out of your condescending mouth. read more

I hit up the shop when I'm down that way and thier open, so once every few month. It'd been a while since I had the chance. Today I inquired about some accessories in the case. The employee said it wasn't priced. And began to put it back, saying it probably went with something. Even though there were none of the figures for the accessories were present. I asked if there was a way to find out. He said nah, they may have went with something that was sold and they forgot to give them with it...that screams poor customer service. He proceeded to toss them back in the case and close it up. Talk about money walking out the door. Don't have the time for customers, and have no interest in helping them. I did buy a fair priced item I wanted but gladly would have added to the purchase. read more

The owner is rude and the prices are higher than what's on Ebay. I do not recommend this store. read more

Very extensive toy and retro video game collection. Some of the Star Wars toys are crazy. I've been shopping here fortifying my retro collection since July. Everything is priced fairly. I'm not interested in collecting every retro game ever made. I want the best of the best of the best! Heavy hitters only! None of the weak stuff. There's also a few bags of Superman pretzels on sale from the 80s I've been meaning to buy. read more

Excellent Service The first time I walked in there I greeted immediately, and had the whole store explained to me. This is exactly how a niche retail store should greet newcomers, I was very happy. I was surprised by some of the retro items, toys, games, etc. I ended up spending 3 times more than I intended because of what they had for N64, and because I like dealing with people who have enthusiasm when talking about what they can offer you. Will always shop there for retro items I'm look for. read more

Super rude staff, very unprofessional and try to overcharge you . Not a welcoming environment and store is messy.

Have been there twice, the young guy working there in glasses makes the experience so uncomfortable. Does not acknowledge you when you walk in, no other customers are in the store, when you ask to see items, he does not speak, but sighs like you are an inconvenience, disrupting him from doing nothing. The first visit, i was so turned off that i did not buy anything, so lost sale for horrid customer service. Decided to go again months later (yesterday) on a Saturday hoping there would be different staff and it was just the same awkward guy. I decided to try this again and asked to look at some highly priced vintage starwars figures. Same non acknowledgement and dead silent interaction, or lack thereof. Looked at 5 figures over the course of 5 minutes, and it felt like an eternity. I bought three for $100, would have purchased so much more if i didn't feel like i was putting this guy out of his way for actually doing his job, which he barely did. How do you have an empty store on two occasions and ignore the customers and make them feel like they are a bother for walking in. After dropping over $100, all he said was the amount i had to pay, not a thank you and every friendly comment i made, or attempt at the slightest conversation was entirely dismissed. Not sure how this place stays in business running it like this. Please address this as you really need to improve customer interaction and avoid lost sales. read more

This place has a great collection. Prices aren't cheap but it's a retail shop, ya know? Excellent original Star Wars stuff, GI Joes, etc, etc. Amazing shop! read more

I went in a month or two ago to pick up some old comics, and I was pleasantly surprised with the large collection they had! The store had a great variety of toys and video games as well. While it was a little all over the place in some corners, overall, it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you're around the area! read more

A good friend of mine told me to check this place and I've been putting it off for the longest time. So the other day i finally stop by to check it out. I felt like I actually walked into heaven! Every childhood memory came rushing back. All my fandoms in one spot I could believe the collection. I was quite impressed and definitely will be back. read more

Cool place, but doesn't have prices on most of the stuff. Went in the other day and grabbed a bunch of stuff and some didn't have prices. He gave a me a price and it seemed reasonable. As he was ringing me out he looks up everything I have on ebay and then raises all the prices. That's not how you run a business. Don't give out fake prices, and then scalp me. Walked out with nothing. Won't return. read more

Really great selection of back issues here, lots of wall books. The TPB/graphic novels section is a bit cluttered and disorganized, but that's not a big deal. This place really shines with their selection of collectibles and toys. If you love Star Wars, you're in for a real treat. And if you don't, they have a lot of other toys and collectibles from other franchises as well. They also have a ton of used video games and old gaming systems, which is really great. I'm only taking off one star because there were/are two semi-minor issues when I come here. One is that they have SO many things, that sometimes the front counters and displays are blocked by boxes or other things, so you can't really see everything they have, and you might have missed something you'd have liked to add to your own collection. The second issue is that some of the comics don't have prices on them, and then the staff will go online to eBay to decide how much to charge you for a specific book. You should have prices on all your comics. This practice comes off as a tad greedy, and it is time consuming waiting at the counter for a price on a book, especially when there are multiple people waiting in line. One specific instance I was in the store, at the register, waiting for a price on a book but otherwise ready to checkout, and the owner was on the phone having a long conversation with what sounded like his dad about winning eBay auctions, while multiple people were waiting in line. The cashier mentioned to him that people were waiting, and he gruffly brushed it off with a, "I see them." That rubbed me the wrong way, but maybe that was a one time occurrence. In any case, it hasn't prevented me from going back and spending a ton of money there, because as I said, this place, despite its smaller size, has a huge selection of awesome stuff that makes it worth checking out. read more

Looks to have an amazing inventory but the place is a mess and the guys behind the counter just argued the entire time about nonsense. Their prices were high as well and I was willing to give them my hard earned cash but the refused to sell me parts I've been looking for. That is a weird way to run a business. read more
