Hell to the No, would I ever recommend this business! I took a call from someone who said that he could help with my website placement on google search and have a greater chance to be found (locally),if someone were to search for a personal trainer. After the first call , I guess to screen me and build my business profile and send me to a sales counselor. First contact person was pleasant to speak to.m; but couldn't, or wouldn't explain the whats and how's of the service. The next day a get the phone call and the reps Name is Joseph.Vachon@townsquaremedia.com; whom I was the person that was supposed to give me a presentation. He asked me to try it for a month, and he explained that the fee quoted (approximately $400.00) was a month to month charge , cancel anytime, but he requested that I try for at least 3 month to get to a certain rank level (like being mentioned in the top 10 on page one of google search; and if it didn't make it , he'll work for free, for another 3months until it appears in the top ten. I asked him for a guarantee, he sent me an email, stating that he would work on my site for free if I weren't satisfied after the first month. I said ok , singed a docusign contract. And in the contract it mainly said that I agree to work with them online and that I agree to receive information from them via email documents... To make a long story short: I changed my mind about working with them, called Joseph Vachon to cancel and request a refund the next day and the guy said ok after failing to convince me to try his company's service. 3 montjs latet i still haven't received my refund, so i called Joseph tp follow up on my refund, and he basically told me no and that he didnt have to refund me the money, and that I should just be a man and honor my agreement to try his company's service. I suggested that he be a man of his word and provided better customer service. He got personal and bold with me over the phone. After the weird phone call with Mr Vachon was finished, i visited the company's website with hope To file a complaint on how this BOZO the Clown (aka Joseph Vachon), provided poor customer service, unfriendly, repugnant and very disrespectful and told me that I couldn't speak to his supervisor. Id give this company a "0" no stars or negative -10 for customer service. ---------------------------------------------------- 7/25/21 - i see a Towne Square Interactive reply to mt Yelp response and they said per there terms "which failed to mention that ONCE YOU AUTHORIZE THEM TO CHARGE YOU, EVEN IF YOU DONT RECEIVE SERVICE, 'NO REFUND PER THERE TERMS.'" This was never disclosed! And I suggest that no one do business with these unscrupulous people. Can you imagine how much money they make a year for doing nothing but tricking people out of their money. Don't use THEM. They are poor customer service providers. Ive tried contacting them aniut my refund since April, anf since i got mo tesponse but a negative and insulting conversation with the sales person who first contacted me and talked about the service. They ignored mt calls and Emails up until i posted this YELP "NEGATIVE REVIEW ". And there response just said , "No REFUND PER THEIR TERMS" well they never revid there terms. Warning. Scammer! They make you fall into a money spending hole in return for nothing! They take hostage of your business name and domain, then they will transfer the Google search result to other people who will pay them if you cancel their service. I figured them out! Don't not let them fool you. I signed up with them by their nice promises. I'm a Handy and Home improvement business, they promised me that I would receive at least 200-unlimited leads for jobs that I offer. They outsource sales department to a very good third party company that has very good sales technique, they convinced me to stop buying leads from Thumbtack and Angie who are able to get me some business. Townsquare Interactive probably is jealous the money I have been spending on these lead generating companies. They offer me $199 month to start a month-month contract with them for building a website and making sure I would be on the Google top page. So I signed up with them to try. It took them 15 days to build a single page website that has no functionality when I can hire someone on Fiverr or Upwork do an excellent 5 pages for $80. After they charges my money, no one is following up my account, no one ever give me any update, no one ever told me how my business search result is, I can NOT get a hold with anyone what's the progress so customers can find me on Google. Nothing happen until I told my credit card company they scammed me, they called me! Haha, they told me I have an outstanding balance, asking for payment. They did NOTHING but making an ugly single page site with a domain they control, they probably hired someone from Pakistan to do it for $40. So, that's the first month of the service, they charged me $199. I can't Google my own business with the site they built, I can't find any track of exist on Google for my business, they did not do any SEO or anything to rank up my business search result. I figure out that they are playing "keep spending till it comes" game, they lure you to spend little by little, month to month, then you would continue to spend because you have spent so much before. Just like the dating site scam module, "pay for your membership, yo I will meet the girls you want". In stead of promising you girls, Townsquare promises you will be top of Google result, it's same scamming module. The search result they promised won't happen until you find out being scammed, sorry, it's too late to get your previous money back. So I canceled them within 30 days and disputed my credit card. These scammers need to dig a grave in order to get that $199. I hope other business owners can see this before signing up with them. Scam!! read more

I decided to partner with Town Square Media on March 13th, enticed by the impressive website they had created for my mother and the enticing promises they made. After reaching out to Jakob Loeb, who had set up my mother's website, I was promptly assisted and we discussed my requirements. Encouraged by the positive conversation, I signed up with them and was introduced to Sara Kaskey, who assured me of meeting my needs. Following their advice, I spent the weekend trying to set up the website portal, only to find it didn't function as promised. Frustrated, I contacted them the next business day to address the discrepancies. To my dismay, I discovered that the features I was promised, such as setting up Zelle and importing templates, were not actually included in their services. Outraged by this deception, I demanded a full refund. Despite being transferred to Shawn, who attempted to persuade me to stay, I remained resolute in my decision. Eventually, Shawn agreed to discuss a refund with management, but advised me to contact Jakob Loeb in the meantime. After a week of fruitless attempts to reach Jakob, I expressed my dissatisfaction to Ashley, prompting a response from Jakob. However, he informed me that obtaining a refund would take a month. When the allotted time passed without a refund, I contacted Jakob again, only to learn that my cancellation hadn't been processed until April 15th. He then informed me of a further three-week wait period. Disheartened by the delays, I reached out to Holly Barrett, who provided much-needed honesty and support. After several discussions, Holly informed me that a refund had never been processed and requested proof of the promise made to me. With her assistance, the refund was expedited, but even then, it took longer than expected. I finally received it on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024. In conclusion, my experience with Town Square Media and its employees has been extremely disappointing. Their deceptive practices and lack of professionalism have left me with no trust in their services. I would caution anyone against engaging with this firm. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the services provided by your company. Despite generally avoiding negative reviews, I feel compelled to share my experience due to the significant issues encountered. When I reached out to the "resolutions team" with a straightforward request for proof of work completed, I was met with a disappointing lack of respect and transparency. We have been paying for services that we did not receive and simply sought reassurance through evidence of the work performed. Instead, we were only directed to review our invoice, which did not address our concerns. The team exhibited a lack of knowledge about our account and falsely claimed they check our Google account monthly, despite our account being inactive for over a month. Our decision to partner with TownSquare Interactive was based on the expectation of professional expertise and seamless management of our online presence. Unfortunately, we have experienced the opposite, with our website ranking significantly lower than promised and being unverified on Google, which critically impacts our business visibility. After enduring over a year and a half of inadequate service, I contacted the company to address these issues. Rather than resolving the matter, I was informed that our partnership was not a good fit and that the cancellation department would be in touch. I only discovered the lack of service when I noticed backend code errors on our website, which reflected a poor quality of work. Despite assurances of maintaining a top ranking website, our site ranked on page nine for most queries. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, leading us to seek services from a more professional company. Upon cancellation, our email system, which was originally managed through Google, was disabled due abruptly. I specifically inquired if there were any other changes required aside from the website, and they assured me that the only task was to transfer the domain to the new website. This is the absolute worst experience EVER!!!! Don't do it!!! Don't believe the sales reps. Very, very misleading. I specifically asked the sale rep: If I am not happy with the results and I leave Townsquare, will I be able to transition easily back to my previous hosting company and transition right where I left off with the original website I built on WordPress. He said,"yes." Well, guess what....90+ days out, over $900 later, not one lead (other than 2 ppl who I personally knew who emailed me through the website- which doesn't count), and a nightmare trying to gain control of my domain name once again (lengthy process)...I NOW have to rebuild our website at BlueHost b/c all of our information is gone...so to the sales rep who lied to me...thank you very much...hope it was worth your commission and I hope you can sleep at night knowing that you out and out lie to people. I should get my $900 back because my time is worth something. I have spent time on phone calls and emails now with GoDaddy (who didn't want anything to do with the situation and were rude) and then Townsquare Interactive and then BlueHost. Townsquare promised I'd be on the 1st page on Google, but it takes about 90 days or so...guess what...made it to maybe the 3rd or 4th page at that point. DON'T DO IT...You will regret it. What a nightmare and headache for us. They should really have a class action lawsuit against them for misleading the public and for fraud. Where is NJ Consumer Affairs when situations like this happen? If I ran my business like this, NJ Consumer Affairs would be all over it and I'd be getting sued by customers. I have used Townsquare for 72 days. In this 72 days they have designed and made all corrections I asked for to our company website they built. They have modified our logo and rendered three different formats of it which I have been able to use to "brand" my company. I have had an increase in my leads by 73.7% and have increased my closed proposals by 61.7%. That translates to better quality leads than Yodel was giving our company, literally for a few dollars more a month. All the way through my experience with Townsquare, it has been very comfortable, painless and a joy working together. My website is not a "adversite", but a very professional looking website. My logo they designed is very professional. I have moved from page three in the 18th position to the first page in the third or fourth position and organically NUMBER ONE on Google. This is only day 72, optimization still has 30- l45 days to go. I've had to hire a payroll company and put workers comp into place and hired, not on but two employees 2/3 of the way to optimization. The customer service, from Mitchell in sales to Amy in tech and my personal account rep, Aaron has been a step above all other in customer service. I came to Townsquare looking to grow my local two year old company and they have surpassed all my expectations in every facet of my industry and has had a higher ROI than any other marketing and advertising company I've used. Worked with them since 2014. Their service was always slow, but I stayed with them because I didn't want the headache. I found another company to do my website. Trying to get the information I needed to transfer was awful. FYI if you transfer your site you can't because they have "special ways of doing it" so nobody else can read their programming. So you will have to build a new website if you want to leave them. They did tell me I would be able to keep the domain name. However when I asked for the EPP code (code needed to transfer the domain so you can use it) they told me the fastest way to do it was open a godaddy account and they would transfer it there then I could transfer to my new web company. So I did it. One little problem they forgot to tell me. Once your domain is transferred you have to wait 60 days before you can transfer it again. No matter what company you use there is a 60 day wait. The best thing is to transfer directly to your new web company with a EPP code. Thankfully my new web company BlueHost was able to help me find a temporary solution. If Town Square Interactive had their way the website my customers have used for years would have been unusable for 60 days. Do not use Townsquare! They also have excuses. There are much better companies out there! read more

They keep on fooling me, I need to wait months in order to get my site on top of the Google page, probably 3-4 months. I actually thought I had a pretty good website until I saw what Scott Johnson and his design team at Townsquare built for me. I also thought my on line presence was decent until the SEO team at Townsquare hooked me up. It has been absolutely awesome and keeps getting better ! One of the greatest things about Townsquare is, even though they know I am satisfied with their service and product, they continue to call me with new ideas on how to make things better. They will even offer me marketing advice on things that aren't directly making them money. My on line presence has increased tremendously thanks to them. I've been in business for 30 years, before internet marketing so, when I started to spend funds for on line marketing I knew very little and spent very much. I've tried a lot of different products, pay per click, Angies List, Yodle etc. etc. Some worked okay and some were absolute rubbish. Less than impressed with TSI. First, their sales tactics were aggressive and demeaning. However, I was looking for help in this area so I decided to give them a shot. First off, they tell you that you don't pay for your first month until you have approved your new site. I spent a week working with them to get my website built and they went ahead and approved it themselves and had it live! My website was a mess and it was live on the internet. I was so mortified about the way my website was worded. If anyone who knew about the industry I worked in saw it, they would have laughed. It sounded ignorant. After months of using them and being frustrated I called it quits. Currently I am fighting them on $175 they say I owe them, though I do not. This has been an awful, expensive mess. I could have done it myself and spent a fraction of the money. Not impressed and not happy. At the onset of our website development the experience was pretty stressful to be honest. I believe it was in part due to the account rep we had. At one point I literally made the decision to throw in the towel because it was way too stressful; and then GLORY BE! a different rep took over our account and things began looking UP! I manage a business domain and website for a family member of mine who is not super tech savvy. He almost fell into this snake den of offering up his businesses domain & website access. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! There are many complaints online of people who are fighting to get their websites back. Any business operating on the premise of "Cheating Google" as their primary sales pitch with (35 - 40 hours worked on your website a week) for $220 a month re-occurring charges is in my opinion operating in a semi-legal operation at best. You DO NOT TRANSFER DOMAIN registrars and hold companies websites hostage as a business model. Very weird yours salesmen email says "TownSquare Media" but the sales pitches say "TownSquare Interactive" almost as if a shell company is doing the semi-legal bidding of the bigger media company. Major customer service issues. Sales practice issues are from blatent lying to promising work that they never will do. I have been juggled through 6 different Townsquare staff that all point blame to each other as to why our account was handled so poorly. Communication from reps as a whole are poor. They did not fulfill advertising contract, never could fully explain what it is they were doing for me. after cancelling service in writing, they still continued to bill me for months. When you show clear proof as to why a refund is deserved, they have nothing to say but "I'm sorry for your frustration". Sometimes they'll even say they sent you stuff but can show no proof when you ask for a screen shot or for them to re-forward the original email. Unfortunately, Kenzie Kimrey & Ahmad Nafisa explicitly told me that there is no need to work with YELP THUMBTACK HOME ADVISOR ETC. That was a big lie!!! I have got no jobs from them and I lost a lot in my small business and already paid $800 for 2 months. When you request to talk with them looks like they are evaporated. Every time you talk with them, they just use the empty words such as GREAT/FANTASTIC/HUGE etc.. Their monthly file report is Just a bunch of statistics (----empty) that everyone can get them easily from www.rankingcoach.com. for free. You have No access to your account/campaign, except a meaningless PDF file as "report". Right now after discontinuing with them even I cannot retrieve my old domain.
