Was up visiting from Tampa & longing for a good Italian sangwheech so after reading some reviews I…read moredecided to this joint a try. Boy, I gotta say I was not disappointed as soon as I walked in, I got a sense that I was definitely in the right spot. The look , feel & smell of it immediately brought me back to my cherished Jersey City roots. Everything on display looked fresh & inviting. The guy behind the counter (damn I don't recall his name) was super friendly & helpful in assisting me with my choices. Ordered the Godfather Sammy, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes & pulpo salad. Everything was delicious ! I travel will be back to NJ several times a year but I think I found my new "Go to spot" ! Just writing this review & thinking about my next trip up (in 3 days) has me salivating for another trip to this place. I will follow up this review with another very shortly to ensure that this wasn't just catching them on a good day but I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed. Stay tuned & I promise to include the counter guys name as he was Aces !

When I was in there, I saw the stuffed bread. After a bit of a conversation about what was in them I opted to get two of them one with broccoli Rabe And one with mixed vegetable vegetables. Boy were we both unhappy with what we got. My boyfriend's father found his braciole and sauce to be so salty it was inedible. He likes food and he is rarely disappointed in an Italian meal. But he said it was so bad that he couldn't even eat it. He ended up throwing it away. I was equally disappointed. Maybe more so. There was no way that vegetable roll was made that day let alone any sooner than two days before. It was so stale. It was hard as a rock. And I hadn't even heated it up. I cut into it right after I brought it home. It also tasted stale. I ended up throwing it away too. Broccoli Rabe roll was a tad better. It wasn't hard as a rock. But it wasn't fresh either. It tasted meh. The only thing I was happy with are the prepackaged taralli. They were imported and were lovely. Go there for the prepackaged imported food products. Don't waste your money on the dicey homemade food experience.

No hats allowed so do your hair :) Had the occobucco and wife tried the branzino. BYOB so bring your favorite bottle. Service is attentive and welcoming. Had a great experience and meal. My friend got the chicken Parm which looked like your typical classic. Everything was delicious and not too crazy expensive which I appreciated.

The menu isn't massive, but they cover every category with extreme precision and do it really well. Seafood, pasta, veal, chicken, and all the classic appetizers you can think of from stuffed artichokes, zucchini blossoms, and house-made burrata. The ambiance is old-school Italian in the best way: timeless, romantic, and cozy. It works just as well for an intimate date night as it does for a small group dinner. Bonus points for being BYOB. We ordered the veal marsala and the seafood pomodoro. The veal was pounded to perfection and swimming in a ridiculously addictive sauce. The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh shrimp, clams, and mussels and you can taste the quality and care put in the food. Meals are served with a salad to start, and you can expect to spend around $35 per entrée, which feels more than fair for the quality. We were genuinely impressed and were treated with a lot of attention throughout the meal. The concept of the restaurant being run by two italian twins was honestly so sweet. Highly recommend if you're looking for classic Italian done right without trekking into the city.

The decorations are all themed to the movie and overall adds a nice touch. It's comfortable atmosphere - family friendly. Valet parking and coat check are an added bonus. Wait staff was friendly. Our waitress was literally on her second day so we were patient with her but it did distract from the overall experience for me personally. She was attentive for the most part so no real complaints. The bus staff was a little abrupt. They took plates and silverware without really checking as we were enjoying appetizers. It was a bit odd. The menu had a good selection of different meats and fish and pasta dishes. They also offered specials which several of our party tried. I had the 'Veal Romantico' which was veal cutlets layered with slices of eggplant, mozzarella and tomato. Penne pasta with peas was the side. And everything was dressed in a sherry brown sauce. Overall the presentation was very nice. The food was cooked well, but it lacked flavor and I felt needed more salt and pepper at the very least. Other colleagues had similar comments that overall the food was well prepared but lacked anything really memorable. The real shining star of the evening was the dessert! The carrot cake was absolutely delicious! I'd go back just for that! It was moist and flavorful, chock full of raisins, carrots and nuts. Topped with creamy, not too sweet, cream cheese icing and finished with toasted coconut. Absolutely delightful! For what it was we had a nice evening.
