I'm in love with this village. So it's perfect when I have a hour to kill before my car is ready. The small businesses here are great to visit. Most, if not all, are family-owned and run. The Cookery is a great farm to table establishment. They have an awesome menu that changes with the season. Harper's Bar and Restaurant is another really good place to eat. They offer dining specials like half-price wine bottles. Cedar Street Grill is so good. I love their happy hour with discounts on their food and drinks but even without the money off their food is really good. After my run and sometimes even after I finish at the gym in Yonkers I take the drive to Raw Juice. Their juices hit the spot! They have super fresh ingredients and they serve up your order quickly. It pays to grab a shot also. Their Wheat Grass shot tastes sooo good. It's sweet. Sweet! New York Bagel Authority serves up some sexy sandwiches, made to order. My go-to is an Everything w/Lox and CC, Onion and Capers. Yaaas. The Dawg House dishes up some interesting gourmet hot dogs. The loyalty card is you friend there so pick one up with your order. Another good visit is Sushi Mike's. Very fresh seafood and awesome specials. The price is definitely suited for Dobbs Ferry but the food is unmistakably good and staff is very attentive. We've visited Cedar Smoke which is a nice smoke shop with every vape that you would want. There are a few boutiques with unique fashion options. I really love this sleepy village. It's so quiet yet fulfilling. Sounds stupid but you really want for nothing when you stop by.

Love this village. Beautiful view of the Hudson. Friendly, small town vibe. Its on my short list…read moreof towns to live.

Hubs and I had heard from my auntie-in-law about her not-so-positive experience years ago- so it…read morewasn't like we were eager to come here for dinner then. But since we wrapped up with errands in the area, Scaramella's was it. Located in a mini strip mall in Dobbs Ferry, Scaramella's is very old-school- but with a splash of class and then some. Once you pass the foyer, their bar area greets you followed by their large dining room. At about 5pm on a Saturday, you can be seated with no issues. Any time after that, folks start piling up. Our server Anne Marie was no bull-shitter; got to the chase when she gave me a hush-hush tip on a Pear Salad I was eyeing. She's my girl alright. Our appetizers, were plentiful and tasty. Forget our main plates- because if you think you'll be getting a polite portion of pasta or any meal at that- think again. I honestly don't know if hub's spinach pasta was homemade- but that sucker was good. My $40 Swordfish+fresh carrots with an unexpected corn+ spinach medley, was tasty and abundant. Actually, I had leftovers. Can I also mention that these folks don't play around with their pours because my Lemon Drop was potent! Listen, I don't care that Scaramella's is located in strip mall or that my auntie-in-law didn't enjoy her meal years ago. From the looks of it, this place is happy-loud and has character. And no, it's not totally easy to park outside. That aside, our meals were satisfying, well-priced and the happy chaos, is all part of Scaramella's local charm.

It's a mom and pop restaurant, the pasta made fresh , wry delicious!, service was quick and fast for lunch, the locals , hang out there. They have a lunch menu& dinner menu, while eating , you listen to Italian songs, the decorations puts you in a scene of old Italy. We ordered the fried calamari/ fried meatballs, bolognese & tortellini nonna . We loved the meal, made , prepared , just right, , not bad for lunch , not crowed , we ate peacefully , cause most people are at work, dinner can be hectic as per our waiter. Til next time,

Chicken pounded out and crispy. Good dish Bread pudding was terrific as was the cheesecake. Only gripe was the chair. Rustic, cute, but I felt like I could break it and fall through. Probably an indictment on me and not the chair. Service was warm and convivial like Artie buoco

I'd give this a 3.5 stars overall. But I couldn't get myself to round up. We tried the smoked…read morericotta, the crispy cauliflower, fettuccini nero, and pappardelle with asparagus and lemon. The atmosphere was cozy, casual, and somewhat romantic. Service was quick and staff were friendly. But, I don't think staff were as knowledgeable about the menu. I asked for some recommendations and favorites re: the pasta dishes and they pretty much said everything was good. That's fine. Was just hoping for some sort of follow up (4 out of 5). Overall, had mixed feelings about the food: The smoked ricotta honey with grilled bread was okay. The grilled bread came with black char, which didn't work for me. Ricotta and honey are subtle flavors and the char quickly overpowered them. The bread was good, but I think it would've been better toasted, not charred/burnt. That way the nutty flavors from a toasted bread can complement the honey/ricotta better. For the price tag (18) on a simple starter, it was disappointing. (2 out of 5 stars) Crispy cauliflower. I will say the name of this dish was intriguing. Was it lightly battered and fried? When the dish came out, I was disappointed. There's no crisp. It had the texture of roasted cauliflower. The aioli had good flavor, but overall, this was something I've tried before for less than 16 dollars. Can't call something crispy when it's not. (2.5 out of 5 stars) Pastas made the night better. Tried the fettuccini nero (seafood) and one of the pasta celebration dishes, pappardelle with asparagus, lemon, Parmesan. Fettuccini nero was squid ink pasta with seafood. Had good, deep flavor. A bit too salty after the first few bites--the saltiness kind of lingered in your mouth. Wish there was a more seafood. Clams didn't come in their shells. Expected more visible lumps of crab meat and calamari. Other than the shrimp, the seafood bits were much smaller and reminded me of frozen mixed seafood packaging. (3 out of 5) I thought the pappardelle was very good. Good, balanced flavor. Not too salty. Good acid. Good crisp and change in texture from the breadcrumbs that came with the dish. It lacked the depth of flavor that the fettuccini nero had. I was told this was a white sauce dish, which made me think it was going to be more of a creamy dish, but it wasn't. Definitely more of a butter/oil based dish. Some creaminess from the Parmesan I guess. Anyways, I had a delicious first few bites. (4 out of 5)
