Before we tried Townsend, we had another pest control service, but we were still, at night, finding (with UV "Blacklight" Flashlights) deadly bark scorpions, alive and well! But, now... thanks to the great work Doug and Lyle have done for us, I am now finding and carefully removing them... Extinguished! Please check for dead ones ASAP. Find them dead and Get Rid of them, before your pets can encounter them! I highly recomend this to keep your pets safe from any harm. Do not touch with your Self, anything that touches the scorpions, as their venom still exists, even more so that when they are dead. Be responsible and please dispose of every single glowing piece, and all of the materials used for their elimination (very carefully). I called Lyle Townsend,when I found these HUGE roaches in my kitchen, that came in through my back balcony door. Lyle came same day as promised, he examined the dead roach, (turned out to be a Turkistan Roach) , he checked outside including checked all the irrigation boxes the door frames, and windows. He treated ALL of the indoor baseboards and treated the yard as well as the foundation and walls. He was very, very thorough, very pleasant , very affordable. So pleased with the quality of the assessment of the situation (scorpions: 10 in a month!!) and the treatment. They called before they came, as I'd asked. My dad and his neighbors having been battling with scorpions for some time now. For about a year we were using a franchise pest exterminator. I specifically mentioned we were having problems with the Arizona desert scorpions. They sprayed the inside and outside of the house and we signed up for them to "service" the house every 2 months. I would see 1 or 2 scorpions every few months especially during the summer. I would read other pest control websites about scorpions and they all mentioned how "difficult" it is to rid of scorpions. So I figured the company I was using was doing a good job. My dad's neighbor would complain of scorpions all the time. He finally hired a pest control to come out and help with the infestation. His pest company came out at dusk, sprayed this awful gasoline-like smelling chemical all over the outside of the house and was using black light to catch any running scorpions with a sticky rodent pad. During this visit they found the scorpions running into our backyard. Of course I asked him to come and spray my dad's backyard. The exterminator ended up finding a nest within a stone wall retainer around the garden. Of course I was upset at how ineffective our pest control company "techniques" are. (...months later) I thought I posted this review months ago! Might as well give a brief update. I found one dead scorpion a couple months after Townsend initial treatment. I'm happy to say the house has been scorpion free and my dad's neighbor hasn't been complaining either. We use Townsend at my dad's house monthly. Moved to Vegas about 20 months ago. Realized there was a scorpion issue at my place. Hired a different provider and would see 5-6 scorpions insides the house each week during the summer and would kill 2-3 each night outside using black light. This year decided to hire Lyle after referral from my co-worker. My co-worker had a much worse scorpion issue that Lyle was able to solve. Since I started using Lyle earlier this year, i have not seen a single scorpion inside my house. The first couple months of service I saw a total of 3-4 dead scorpions outside in the drive way. Since they were dead or close to dead, i knew Lyle's solution was working. I have 2 little kids and scorpions inside the house can be dangerous. Thanks to Lyle, now i have not even taken my black light to hunt outside in 6 months. And we can sleep peacefully. I referred Lyle to a friend in the neighbourhood this summer who was having similar issues and within couple months his scorpion problem has been solved. Before I hired Lyle i was doubtful anyone who fully solve scorpion issue based on what i was hearing from various people. But Lyle did the magic. He may not be the cheapest but with other providers you are paying for no real protection (atleast i was paying to my previous provider and was still seeing scorpions all the time). We discovered evidence of a very active rat in our garage a few says ago and were very anxious to make sure he was removed. We also wanted to make sure there would be no repeat visits so we wanted to pest proof our house as thoroughly as possible. I called Townsend Pest Control at 8am sharp next morning and the phone was answered very courteously and helpfully the boss himself, Mr. Lyle Townsend. He knew it was an urgent matter for us and he was able to come at 10am the same morning with one of his assistants, Aaron. Both gentlemen were a pleasure to deal with. Lyle explained that they could get the rat with 24 hours and pest proof the house so that it would be very unlikely for a rat to be able to get in again. The next morning we discovered the rat in one of the traps that had been set, as promised. Over the next few days, Lyle and Aaron worked meticulously to seal all possible entry ways into the house for rats. They also promised to react very quickly in the future if a problem occurred. Lyle had invented an attractive "rodent rock" rat poison station that looks like a big rock, and six of those have been placed around our property. We could not be more pleased with the service and rates provided by Townsend Pest Control. They've been in business for over 50 years and their knowledge and expertise really shows. I live on a large lot out here in Las Vegas, I called Townsend Pest Control because of an ongoing issue I've been having with rats. I had 2 other companies out to get rid of the problem, they'd set up a box trap with bait and yet the rat problem seemed to be getting increasingly worse. I was at my wits end when I called Townsend and spoke with Lyle. He's the owner and he seriously knows his stuff. My nick name for him is "rat man" I'm telling you he's the master! He has these awesome bait rocks that he sets out, they look great in the yard! He was on it, changed the bait consistently, communicated with me and just gave it his best effort. The rat population is virtually non existent. We will be using this company for all our pest needs, they spray for bugs too.
