This is like my 6th stay here since October of 2024. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I have always been pleased with the rooms. And every morning when I go down for breakfast the ladies are always welcoming and love to hear me up a gluten free muffin. Oh those are so good. My husband and I had a one night stay at the TownPlace Suites in Front Royal and had a wonderful visit. We arrived much later than expected and the woman working the front desk during the evening shift was welcoming and extremely kind upon our check in. Definitely the type of greeting anyone would hope for after a long, late night drive. The TownPlace Suites in Front Royal is located in an area with lots of "life" surrounding it. There are places to eat and shop such as a Target, Walmart, Starbucks, and other popular chain establishments. There was ample parking surrounding the hotel and, even more noteworthy, all parking was complimentary. Pets are also welcome at this hotel for a small fee. Our room was extremely spacious for two adults. We were assigned to a two queen bed accessible room. There was a full kitchen with full size refrigerator, microwave, stove, and sink, a dining table, and a large bathroom. There were ample power outlets to charge multiple devices. Plenty of room to spare for just the two of us. A family or group of four could fit comfortably in this room. Perhaps, even a family with three small children willing to share a bed. Complimentary hot breakfast was served each morning. The breakfast had a good variety of items and was actually pretty good! Without a doubt, a five star stay for us. We could have been happy staying here more than one night as the accommodations really made us feel like we were at a home away from home. If we ever find ourselves back in this area of Virginia, we will definitely look to book at this TownPlace Suites again. read more

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! The staff here are the friendliest people I've ever met they go above and beyond to make you feel right at home. The hotel is spotless and pet-friendly, which is a huge plus for our family. There's so much to do nearby, and the hotel itself has great amenities like a pool, a grill area, and even games you can borrow for some extra fun. We absolutely love this hotel. It was clean the staff was very friendly. The rooms are set up with a full kitchen with a large refrigerator a table and four chairs and all the amenities you would need like glass plates and real silverware. The breakfast was very good and the outside patio was well thought through. I would stay in this hotel again for sure and will definitely look for other TownePlace suites by Marriott. Our experience was great! They even offered a free ticket to the minor-league baseball game in town as a perk. Amazing! read more

We stayed here to attend a wedding anniversary party for a good friend. We have not had good luck with Marriott lately, so we went with a newer one. This is a fairly new place located right off of Interstate 66. Everything was clean and nice. There is an outdoor pool area and a gas fire pit to sit around in the evening out front. There is a fair amount of parking and it is located near a lot of things... Target, restaurants, Lowe's, and 10 min from downtown Front Royal. It is a fairly expensive place to stay. Also, for a new place the walls were thin. We could hear the elevator running most of the night and you can hear plumbing from other rooms, showers running/toilets flushing. The room is set up like a suite with a small kitchen area that had a microwave and refrigerator with a freezer. The gym looked like all new equipment as well. It is well maintained so far! read more

The parking lot was crowded for the size of the hotel, we had to park on the street, and our sheets didn't look clean when we got in there, rest of the room was nice and the bathroom was spacious. Showers took a while to heat up but stayed hot after it got there. Staff was mostly friendly, breakfast was just bread / bagels and cereal from what I could find, which might make sense for covid, but I didn't think the amenities / Room warranted the price charged. Overall nice hotel and if I'm in the area again I'd consider staying, but would like to pay a lower price or see the amenities increased. read more

The hubby and I had stayed there most recently for a weekend. Although we had checked in at 6 pm and reserved a king bed studio with a sofa bed. Apparently all was mainly sold out and when we arrived, they assigned the handicap and hearing disable room studio to us. It would be okay to have this option, unfortunately my husband is 6 ft tall and the bed was way too low to the ground along with the sofa, that his knees hit his chest. Had I known that this would've been an only option upon check-in, I probably would've reserved elsewhere. We did try switching to another room and again our room type was not available or find one in the basement with limited sun. Who has a hotel room in the basement? I pass. read more

Honestly, given the good reviews of this place I'm surprised to be writing this. However, I am appalled that after spending almost $600, there is an extreme decline in quality at this hotel. 1. Hot water didn't work. I called the hotel front desk to get assistance with it and after the receptionist told me she would reach out to her manager, I never heard back. Takes the hot water 15+ mins to heat up. 2. Pots and pans were completely scratched up. Stainless steel should have been the option given nonstick pans do not last and can be quickly ruined if used incorrectly. Nothing like poisonous teflon in your food. 3. Breakfast options are very slim. All sugary choices, nothing healthy. Healthiest option was an over-boiled egg. 4. Was given a broken tv remote. 5. Room was VERY small and I was constantly trying not to smack my head on the tv since it was hooked up right next to the bathroom at a very odd angle. There was plenty of space across from the bed where the tv could've have been mounted, next to the bathroom, in the middle of the hallway, not a good idea 6. Now, I understand that early check-in is never guaranteed but I was given the runaround by multiple people about being able to check in early. I was told inconsistent things from three people who all said something different. I also never received my mobile key until 4:30 PM (check in is at 3) and had to call to confirm that my room was even ready. Unfortunately, it seems like all this hotel cares about is the overhead, not the actual quality of the services they are providing. This room was a failure I will not be staying here again. Spend your money elsewhere. Feels more like a motel. Very disappointing. I've spent numerous days in Marriott hotels before, but never one this trashy. read more

I stayed here after attending a nearby wedding. The room was very clean, fairly spacious, and had comfortable mattresses and a decent TV. We didn't have any unusual customer service needs, but the staff were friendly and seemed to have it together. All in all, pretty nice. I'd have no reservations about staying again whenever I next want a room in the area. read more

This hotel was conveniently located off the highway with lots of restaurant choices nearby. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. We had a full kitchen including a dishwasher. The only thing missing were wine glasses. All public areas are wide open making it ideal for those in wheelchairs. If I were planning a get together with friends or a family reunion, this would be the perfect location. They even have a pool for the warmer months. The staff was friendly too! read more

First of all, the hotel was 100% capacity so they put us in a two bedroom suite without an upcharge. Also we could checkin online which was clutch because we wanted to stay longer in Shenandoah NP. The hotel is very close to Dickey Ridge Visitor center. The staff was friendly and breakfast was served on time with coffee available earlier We are early risers so that was welcome! Stayed here for the night on a recent trip for work. The typical hotel was unavailable so have this place a shot. The hotel is a few years old and is conveniently located near a shopping complex right off the freeway. I arrived too early for checkin but the staff was very apologetic and friendly. Brand New hotel. Opened August 22, 2019. Checked in August 28th. Desk clerk was great, looked me in the eye, talked directly to me, and knew the area. The room is strange. I am 6' 2" tall, the bed is so high I had a hard time getting into it. Wonderful shower. The towel rack is across the bathroom from the sink so you drip water across the floor. The breakfast is terrible. 1st morning had premade pepper eggs. The toaster does not pop bagels or English muffins up. I saw 4 people use metal tongs to get stuff out of the toaster. No meat what so ever. Then both elevators broke. We had to walk up 4 flights of stairs. No hotel person told any of the hotel guests what was happening. Of course to leave we had to walk down. Next morning breakfast was two make your own waffle machines. No cut up fruit. No eggs. We have stayed at the town place suites North of Winchester, they put out a good hotel breakfast. Sunday morning at 5:45am we went to the elevator with our luggage. The door opened, I pushed my suitcase in, it fell over and pulled me with it. The elevator was 6 to 8 inches below floor level. I was not hurt but ticked off that a Marriott hotel would open under such dangerous conditions. I reported the problem to the desk clerk. She said they had been having elevator problems. There are over 30 hotels with in 20 minutes of this location that are safe and have a decent breakfast. read more

I am very picky about where I stay where I travel-I tend to prefer Resorts over Hotels - however when I had an unexpected last minute travel to Front Royal, I was pleasantly surprised at finding this wonderful little hotel! Very clean, new build, and such nice staff! Room was comfortable and had full refrigerator and microwave for use and the shower was comfortable and roomy- the staff always pleasant and always confirmed visitors before allowing them in hotel and the gym was spacious while I did not care for the treadmill, the weights were nice and I was able to workout every morning. This is by far the best hotel I have stayed in around this area. The staff was friendly and the room was PHENOMENAL. Everything was extremely neat and clean. I was very pleased to see that kitchen utensils are provided as well as a dishwasher and a good size fridge. Breakfast had a good amount of choices too. This hotel ensured me before booking that they required masks indoors. However, upon checking in there were 3 people sitting in the lobby at a table on their laptops with no masks, a woman speaking with the front desk agent with no mask AND no shoes, and tonight as I walked to my room there was a man with 4 kids (8+) not one of them wearing a mask. It made me feel very unsafe and question the other COVID safety practices/protocols this hotel claims to be following. The rooms are nice, the staff are friendly. It's unfortunate that they are not following safety procedures to ensure all guests are protected and comfortable. It's so risky right now with the high COVID spike in this area. They are endangering their guests, especially those that are older and with other conditions. I highly suggest looking at other hotels if you want to ensure that those around you are practicing safe pandemic behaviors. read more

Overpriced. It is basically a Super8 with a stove. The kitchen and closet coexisted in a narrow path to the bedroom. It certainly wasn't a suite. The gym was a disservice to the advertisement. However, I did find the staff to be delightful and overly accommodating. As kind as they were, the hotel itself did not meet the reputation of a Marriott or even a Holiday Inn Express. read more

I have never been so disgusted with the level of customer service or lack thereof. Josie Hoeffner was unprofessional since the day I had to deal with her. We wanted to stay at this hotel along with other guest for our wedding. Given a majority were out of town, I knew we needed over 25 rooms. Ms. Hoeffner made it clear she was not able to accommodate a block of 25 rooms at the time. However we could revisit the option if we ended up filling the block we were given. When we quickly filled the given block, I was told my guest could then book at the market rate. I was very confused why Ms. Hoeffner could not have done better beforehand, given I told her the first block was too small. Not only was Ms. Hoeffner not able to accommodate us, she then told us we could stay at other hotels down the street. I myself, will never give this location my service. If you can, go to the other location off 81, they were everything and then some. read more
