The housekeeping policy says we clean rooms every other day of your stay. Came back to my room after the second day and noticed the room wasn't cleaned when to the front desk and complained about my room they said we only clean the rooms once a week on Wednesdays I said why does it say in your app and website that you clean every other day. She said that sense Covid restrictions we clean once a week. The is May of 2023 federal Covid restrictions have ended. But as you can see by the vent the cleaning once a week isn't happening. read more

Hardest TP I've ever used. Ladies, just a heads up, use the Kleenex as an alternative... Other than that our stay was great. The young lady checking us in greeted us with a bright smile and cheerful attitude. She checked us in and gave us a beautiful Mountain View room. When we arrived to the room it was clean and ice cold, just how I like it! The room had a balcony that gives you direct view of the mountains. My husband and I wanted to get an extra comfy motel and from the pics we decided to book it. Very disappointing. The beds were hard, there was only one staff member working. We asked for extra pillows and blankets and we only got a blanket. It had that overwhelming chemical smell. Won't ever be booking a Fairfield Inn room. A waste of money. read more

It was a nice, clean hotel until Friday. Then, it turned into a party house. The room above me kept stomping around and I had to call the desk 3 times from 10pm-10:30ish and still never stopped. So, I decided to take a walk around the hotel to try to help me relax so I could try to sleep. Thats when I encounter 3 makes out front drinking beer and being loud. When I walked inside the main entrance, I seen a bowl of empty green beer bottles sitting on a table in the breakfast area. I also could smell what I believe was marijuana at main entrance. Avoid this place on the weekend. Update#1: I saw the guy sitting outside urinate on the front pillar of the main entrance. Staff called police but they came and did nothing. Way to go Strasburg Police dept., NOT!!! Update#3 spoke to police a second time. and they said urinating in public view is not indecent exposure. In Virginia, urinating in public view is illegal. Update #4 1:12AM, room above me is still being loud, stomping and talking loudly. Hotel staff has done nothing but call them. read more

We stopped here while traveling up to NY. We don't make reservations in advance and will usually just decide to stop when we are getting tired, we pulled into this Fairfield Inn around midnight on a Thursday night and were relieved that they had rooms available. The room itself was pretty standard. I liked that there was a fridge so we could put our cooler items in it. A negative was that I thought the shower could have been cleaner. It looked like there was pink mold in the corners and around the drain. Yuck! The room served its purpose. We were in around midnight and out by 8am. I think there was breakfast available but we didn't have any. read more

Unfortunate stay. The sheets were like sandpaper, there were crumbs and even some small sticks on the floor around my bed, and the nightstand had something sprayed all over it. The AC made strange noises all night, which is unfortunate when you use the fan to drown out other hotel noise. Plus, I had to pay more for this one night in the middle of nowhere than I have paid at a Marriott in years, anywhere in the country. But they were completely booked--not other options for miles. When I expressed these issues at checkout the next morning, the lady seemed genuinely shocked and so apologetic that it was like that. She insisted on "taking care of me" by refunding some of the cost. I thanked her and went on my way. Now I see that she refunded me a whopping $20, which still made this unfortunate experience one of the most expensive rooms I've had at a Marriott. So much for platinum-level service. read more

I'm impressed. Pulled in after a looong day, we had a late check-in. We literally told the friendly clerk our name from the reservation, he handed us the key to our clean, perfectly climate controlled room, and we were checked in within 30 seconds! By "perfectly climate controlled," I mean it was chilly from A/C on high. Which was nice because today was one of those Virginia-in-July days that was hotter'n forty hells! We're tired and satisfied campers! Well lighted parking, nice smelling place, efficient process and staff, see ya at breakfast! :-) I mean, short of Charlize Theron personally handing me a warm cookie AND a winning Powerball ticket, the welcome doesn't get much better than what we just experienced. ------/------/------/------/------/------/ Breakfast was OK. Sausage & eggs, toast & bagels, cereal, juice, and the like. Hot tub and pool are relaxing. I'd like to loiter all day and soak, nap, and drink. Eventually eat again I suppose, but I'm still stuffed from breakfast. We ended up I the handicap accessible room. I don't require those amenities (yet), but they looked to be in tip top shape. There is even a chair lift gizmo poolside so you could get your laps in, get your soak on, get your dip dipped, and so on and so forth. And everything. Mama's happy. I'm happy. Love this hotel! What a wonderful, competent staff! We stayed here several times in the last two weeks as we are moving from NY to SC. Twice we had to change our reservations and twice we were accommodated with no additional charges; they were so accommodating! Becky at the front desk was such a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful during this somewhat stressful move! Thank you to the entire staff who provide competent service with a smile! Very nice end to a long day! After a full day in a class nearby, the experience here was certainly pleasant. We were quickly greeted and checked in (we were also able to choose the floor our room was on!). The room was clean and the furnishings were very modern. Location This hotel is well situated for a hiking vacation in the northern part of Shenandoah National Park, only 15 minutes from the entrance in Front Royal. However as we came to realize, many of the best hikes are in the middle and lodging near Harrisonburg would have meant less driving. It is also close to an Italian restaurant, several fast food joints and some gas stations. A couple miles down the road is a supermarket, drugstore and liquor store. Staff Check in was easy and most of the front desk staff were extremely helpful, especially Michele. The exception was Connie who quickly got an attitude with us anytime we asked a question. The lady in charge of breakfast setup was helpful and attentive. Room King room was small and basic but clean and it had a new feel. Free wifi and free hot or cold breakfast were very nice to have, though don't expect a gourmet breakfast. Cons Big downsides which lose it a star - room does not have a refrigerator like most Fairfield's and also does not have a room safe! In my opinion a room safe is more important than free wifi and breakfast. There is supposed to be free coffee until 10pm but the first 2 nights at around 8pm it was all packed away and the front desk staff got a bit of an attitude when asked if they were making any more! Summary Reasonably convenient for the National Park but otherwise an average place to stay. Mostly friendly staff. read more

Usually always stay at Fairfield Inn when traveling. This unit was easy to access from the highway, the desk people were nice and helpful. When into room which had a smell like someone was smoking in it. The desk around the Tv was dusty, the refrigerator was questionable and the air conditioner was leaking on the floor. Definitely needs some upgrades as it doesn't meet the standards I am used to. read more

Unfortunately, the heater in our room was incredibly loud so I spent half of the night trying to drown out the noise, and the other half cold when I had to turn it off. When we checked in I specified that I intended to pay with a gift card, and provided my credit card as a back up form of payment, which I understand was necessary in case we ran up room service or damaged the room. However, when I got up in the morning (7 AM) there was an invoice for the night letting me know that they'd charged my credit card. So instead of just being able to check out and go I had to go to the desk and make them correct their mistake. The breakfast was decent but small (but was free), and there was a pool we didn't check out. Our tub had moldy caulk and you could see that the floor had been walked on while it was still wet after being 'cleaned'. Probably won't be staying here again if I'm ever in the area, considering I'd like to get a comfortable night's sleep. read more

We stopped here on our way to NY, it was right off the interstate so perfect location for us. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Great selection for breakfast. They even had veggie sausage! To top it all off I left my room and the sweet woman in house keeping found it. The hotel called to let me know and FedExed to me! The staff were friendly and helpful. We scored a room with a mountain view and it was well worth the extra few dollars. The continental breakfast was good. With all of the positives, there were w few things that have opportunities for improvement. The person sleeping closest to the ac/heater unit gets blasted by cold air intermittently throughout the night. The noise and temperature swings were not all that pleasant. The sleeper sofa is not at all comfortable. I encourage the person who approved the purchase of these be forced to sleep on one for a week. We had to place the thin excuse for a mattress on the floor so that our kid could sleep. The towels and washcloths are possibly the thinnest that I have ever seen in a hotel. read more

It's a typical Fairfield Inn if you've stayed in them previously. It's right off of I-81, which makes it convenient. The lobby is well set up and inviting and the front desk personnel professional and efficient. One thing to note is that they don't provide bottled water to elite members, you have to pay for it. The room is spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is well stocked with toiletries and plenty of towels and wash cloths. There is a mini fridge, but no microwave at this location. One major annoyance was the internet service, which was extremely slow and kept cutting in and out. It made it very hard to get any work done and impossible to watch a movie because of constant drops and re-buffering. Maybe I caught it on a bad day. The breakfast bar is typical of Fairfield Inns with hot items as well as cereals and fruit, et al. One thing to note is that the sausage is vegetarian and I found it disgusting! Staff was very friendly and helpful! We weren't too keen on the bed and the noise was pretty bad from the road. Also a lot of interior noise between floors (thought we had a herd of elephants above us!) and could hear full conversations in the hall. Didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. Complementary breakfast was pretty good for a free meal...beware powdered eggs!! I repeat that the bed was tremendously uncomfortable and the heater either blew cold or waaaaaaay too hot. I quite often stay at Fairfield Inns because of their consistency, convenience, and free breakfast. This one, unfortunately, is not one I think I'll stay at again. For starters, there was a wait to check in as there was only one hotel clerk. Then we discovered the elevators were extremely slow, causing us to wait every time we needed to use it. I resorted to using the stairs even though I was on the 3rd floor as the wait was intolerable. Next, the road noise in the room was excessive. Normally I ask to be placed in a quiet room but this time I didn't because I thought we were far enough off the interstate for it not to be an issue. Wrong! By the time I discovered this it was late as we had immediately gone out to dinner after checking in. No problem I thought, I'll just turn on cooling system such that the fan runs continually. The system didn't work...at all!! There was a continual fan setting and I tried that but it was louder than the semi-trucks rumbling by. So I turned that off and resorted to ear plugs. But since the HVAC system didn't work the room gradually got too hot during the night and so by morning I had kicked off all the covers and was still too hot. I have to say this bad experience was an exception as I normally seek out Fairfield Inns for the reasons stated in the first sentence. This one I will avoid. read more

My husband and I are frequent travelers, for both pleasure and business. Marriott is always our first choice. This Fairfield Inn definitely is 5 stars. We checked in very late and was warmly greeted by the front desk lady. If I could give half stars it would be one half. The hotel was not what I've come to expect from a Marriott property. We had stayed there once before two years ago and had a great experience but clearly something has changed since then. When we checked in, Connie asked us if we wanted to use the card we had on file for incidentals. We said yes, then she made a big deal because we used points to book our room and made us show her our card that she already had on file. The elevator was super slow. The room was small and one mattress had a small bloodstain on it. The tv remote was broken and we had to manually push the buttons on the tv. The pool was a joke... big enough for 3 kids at best. My son got sick in the bathroom and the desk staff was unwilling to help us. They said nothing like that had ever happened before. They wouldn't send up someone to clean it for us and initially wouldn't give us cleaning supplies either. Finally after they called the manager we were given rags and a solitary bottle of disinfecting spray. We asked if they had any paper towels and were told no but they did; I found them I the downstairs restroom. We got up right before 7 to get to breakfast right when they opened... the food was already cold. There were only 2 highchairs and both were filthy with old pieces of sausage stuck to the seats. Let me reiterate that we were the first people at breakfast with a baby right when they opened so why hadn't the chairs been cleaned from the day before? All in all our experience left much to be desired. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. read more

I had a great time staying here during a weekend getaway to Shenandoah National Park for my husband's birthday. It is about 20 minutes from the park. It is right off the highway, but we got a room facing the other direction, so we enjoyed a view of hills and trees. Very disappointed!!!! The amenities list a whirlpool (reason we chose this hotel), well that has been removed!!! No reason why they didn't update the website! Also the entire hotel is experiencing a water issue.... there is NO cold water - so unless you are interested in scalding yourself don't get in the shower, or use the sink.... Management response "we will get to it soon".... we ended up having to leave to hotel and check into a Ramanda down the street. read more
