The housekeeping policy says we clean rooms every other day of your stay. Came back to my room after the second day and noticed the room wasn't cleaned when to the front desk and complained about my room they said we only clean the rooms once a week on Wednesdays I said why does it say in your app and website that you clean every other day. She said that sense Covid restrictions we clean once a week. The is May of 2023 federal Covid restrictions have ended. But as you can see by the vent the cleaning once a week isn't happening.

Hardest TP I've ever used. Ladies, just a heads up, use the Kleenex as an alternative... Other than that our stay was great. The young lady checking us in greeted us with a bright smile and cheerful attitude. She checked us in and gave us a beautiful Mountain View room. When we arrived to the room it was clean and ice cold, just how I like it! The room had a balcony that gives you direct view of the mountains. We woke up the next morning and requested a late checkout which was granted. Very good stay!

Empty beer bottles in breakfast area at 11:20pm 8/26/2022

It was a nice, clean hotel until Friday. Then, it turned into a party house. The room above me kept stomping around and I had to call the desk 3 times from 10pm-10:30ish and still never stopped. So, I decided to take a walk around the hotel to try to help me relax so I could try to sleep. Thats when I encounter 3 makes out front drinking beer and being loud. When I walked inside the main entrance, I seen a bowl of empty green beer bottles sitting on a table in the breakfast area. I also could smell what I believe was marijuana at main entrance. Avoid this place on the weekend. Update#1: I saw the guy sitting outside urinate on the front pillar of the main entrance. Staff called police but they came and did nothing. Way to go Strasburg Police dept., NOT!!! Update#3 spoke to police a second time. and they said urinating in public view is not indecent exposure. In Virginia, urinating in public view is illegal. Update #4 1:12AM, room above me is still being loud, stomping and talking loudly. Hotel staff has done nothing but call them.

Love this hotel! What a wonderful, competent staff! We stayed here several times in the last two weeks as we are moving from NY to SC. Twice we had to change our reservations and twice we were accommodated with no additional charges; they were so accommodating! Becky at the front desk was such a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful during this somewhat stressful move! Thank you to the entire staff who provide competent service with a smile! We love our room with a mountain view and free breakfast in the morning! We will be back! We highly recommend this hotel!

Mystery stain on the decorative throw!

Very nice end to a long day! After a full day in a class nearby, the experience here was certainly pleasant. We were quickly greeted and checked in (we were also able to choose the floor our room was on!). The room was clean and the furnishings were very modern. Only complaint was some stains on one of the decorative throws(?). Four out of five because the overall experience was great but the stains were a bit off putting.

Smallest rooms I have ever seen. Even Manhattan has bigger rooms. Morning breakfast was poor. The replenishment was virtually non existent. The rooms were relatively new, so I gave an extra star. The area is a rest stop basically.

It's charming, cozy, and full of character in a way that's hard to find anymore. We stayed in Room 15, the Bernstein Suite, and it was incredibly spacious. The bed was so comfortable, and I loved the thoughtful details -- especially the cute vanity room with amazing natural light and the cozy seating area. The decor throughout the inn and in the room really stood out to me and was easily my favorite part of the stay. It felt like such a unique blend of historic charm and comfort. This stay was extra special for us as it was part of our 10-year anniversary trip while driving to New York City, and it ended up being the perfect halfway stop to break up the drive. It made the whole trip feel even more memorable. We also dined at Clem's Kitchen during our stay, and the food was great. (I'm gluten free and there were plenty of options!) I really appreciated that it's part of the inn, which made the overall experience feel seamless and convenient. Overall, it's the kind of place where you can slow down, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy something truly special. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you're in the Shenandoah Valley area.

Charming Place, Comfortable Stay…read more We enjoy stays at both chains and independent hotels/motels, just do a lot of research to ensure a solid, restful stay at either. This piqued our interest as the longest continuously run motel and it lived up to expectations of being charmingly quirky while also very comfortable -- plus, proving to be easy to access as a quick pit stop. Spouse & I agreed when checking out that we wished we were staying longer, to get to enjoy the surprisingly spacious sitting room and glassed-in porch -- we stayed in room #15 / Bernstein and recommend it to both couples and small families. The bed was cushy and my husband slept later than his norm, always a good sign for bed comfort. It is higher than average, so I took advantage of the provided step to hop in/out. Because the tavern is onsite, there were additional bathrooms handy downstairs when ours was occupied. As noted in our welcome sheet, water took a few minutes to warm up. So if showering and in a rush, run it first for 3-5 minutes while doing other prep. But hot water arrives and pressure was excellent. The rooms were spotless, though of course tiles and other fixtures are vintage and show age -- it's a historic landmark. We also wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the porch rockers and both the tavern or (intriguingly combined) Irish-Mexican restaurant on premises. There appears to be patio seating in back, so ask if it's associated with hotel or dining, if looking for other outdoor space. Indoors, there are public spaces (two parlors plus other spots -- it's a rambling building!) with books and a checkerboard handy. Maybe more amenities but we ran out of time to explore. It's not a B&B -- there's just a stocked Keurig in the lobby and some packaged snacks and bottled water (free but donations welcomed). But if the Tavern is closed, as it was on our Memorial Dat visit, there's a small coffee shop just a half-block away, serving breakfast late as well as some sandwiches and bowls, plus good teas & coffees. Incredibly friendly staff. Looked like a few other dining options nearby plus historic sites and walking trails. We arrived very late, and management is not onsite at that hour, but instructions for arrival were provided, comprehensive and very easy to follow. Staff on site in am were very pleasant and helpful. Tip: If arriving late & lugging a ton of luggage, ask which rooms are closest to the late-night entrance. Number 15 is on the far side and up a flight of stairs -- fine for us with just overnight totes & computer bags but just something to keep in mind if you have a lot to unload. Overall, an enthusiastic thumbs-up. It looks like it would be a fun, relaxing hub for a weekend escape. But also great as a highway stop, as it is just a few minutes' drive from the exit.

They are now a vacation house rental; only one group can occupy the house at a time. We were a group of four who visited Pembroke Springs Retreat in the middle of August. Because we were the only group in the house, we took full advantage of the baths. There's nothing more relaxing than a full soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters. They offer one meal per day if you rent all five rooms; we only rented three rooms. But that gave us access to their amazing kitchen. They have fresh mountain water which tasted smoother than any city water and made incredible green tea and coffee. On checking in, we spoke to Lisa over the phone who was very helpful and friendly. Because of COVID, everything was over the phone. But Lisa answered any questions we had immediately. We were also happy to meet some of the dogs. :D

Anyone leaving a three star or above review has to be living in a fantasy land I missed. I fully understand there are "renovations" going on, but this "hotel" is unacceptable. As one of the reviews said... it doesn't deserve to fly the Hilton flag. Dirt and garbage all over the floors from the moment we walked in; just because you're renovating, doesn't excuse not using a vacuum! Bathroom sink was broken and wouldn't drain... shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor and had hair in it that wasn't mine... Heating/AC literally growled like a demon to the point that we couldn't have it on in 29 degree weather. Towels were scratchy, breakfast was NOT Hilton standard. I've overheard enough conversations from managers who actually care about their hotel to know, there is a set guideline. This Hampton inn falls short in all ways. After volunteering all week and traveling a long night, expecting the Hampton Inn standard, this was top 5 worst experiences of my life. I thought checking out/grabbing breakfast would redeem something but spoiler... they didn't have the Hampton standard pastries either. The missing lemon poppy seed scones truly was the cherry on top of an awful experience.

So when I called and the owner told me that the breakfast would be delivered in the room, I didn't think think anything of it. As it turned out, the "breakfast" was a collection of thoroughly mediocre food picked up at the grocery store--yogurt, bagels, orange juice. The yogurt wasn't event especially fancy. As a result, my wife was disappointed. The host did offer to give us a discount on our stay to compensate for the disappointing breakfast. But he refuses to change the misleading information on his website. To this day, the website brags, falsely, about having "the best breakfast in Virginia," creating the likelihood that other customers will be misled in the future. I could understand if it was still May 2020 and they just hadn't had time to make the change. But the pandemic has been underway for almost a year at this point. It could easily go for another year.
