First off, service was friendly, quick, and our food came out piping hot. Next, SIDES! The green beans were flavored amazing! They were a little on the soggy side but well worth it for the flavor. The baked beans were amazing as well, awesome flavor, not runny, not too thick, but excellent flavor as well. The mac&cheese was a disappointment since everything else was so good, it seemed old. Almost like it was refrigerated then heated again kind of taste. But I mixed it with my baked beans and I was a happy camper. The RIBS, OH MY GOSH. You must get the ribs. We got the full slab to split and had left overs. They were fall off the bone with mouth watering flavor. The Smokey taste is my favorite when it comes to ribs, rather than some sweeter flavors. He forgot his cell that day and walked the two blocks to Danny's to use their phone to call me to pick him up. It would have been another two miles to walk home on a hot day, and he is in his mid 80's, not a good idea. He walked into the store and asked the woman at the cash register if he could use the phone, he had a break down and needed a ride. "NO" was her response. Surprised, and with disbelief, he walked back to the meat counter where two men were working and said again, "could I use the phone please" ? Both totally ignored him as if they didn't hear!!!!! Very fortunate that a man my husband had worked with came in right then, and offered to take my husband home. What has this world come to that three people in that store refused to let a Senior citizen use the phone when he had a car brake down? This was stunning, shocking, surprising, and really CRUEL too, on a 90 degree day. He would have had to walk the two miles home if that customer had not come in. This experience has put a new light on this local business that we have patronized for years. It's the neighbors here who keep them open, and this is how they treat customers and neighbors! This will not be soon forgotten.

The side Caesar is not bad, covered in croutons as well. The white Italian bread is soft and billowy, not bad. The honey butter is good. They took out some regular check out lanes ( which was never in use). And of course, added self service check out lanes. They even have sushi now. Never did when I lived in Monroe. But many of the same faces on the staff and same service is I was use to having the 15 years I lived here. Will stop monthly when I come down to have thoses white roots covered.
