Updated store, updated review. New set up, new bottle return room, and even new shopping carts. Wider isles, but less stuff in a few categories. They took out some regular check out lanes ( which was never in use). And of course, added self service check out lanes. They even have sushi now. Never did when I lived in Monroe. But many of the same faces on the staff and same service is I was use to having the 15 years I lived here. Will stop monthly when I come down to have thoses white roots covered. read more

Kraft Mac and cheese dawg. Just get it and love it because at the end of day the only thing you have is your kraft.

This store is so POORLY Run, when it only takes you 35 minutes to shop for a weeks groceries and have to wait almost 50 minutes to check out it's just not acceptable. This store runs on a shoe string, the staff is constantly changing because they can't keep help. Several produce items I looked at either were rotten or had mold, shelves are not stocked and couldn't even get several food items. This use to be a Friendly well stocked organized store but it has Really gone down hill. I even chatted with a king time employee and they were very cautious saying anything like they were afraid someone would hear them. Best bet is shop at Kroger's in Monroe Michigan. read more

Since we moved to Monroe 18 months ago, I have been hospitalized, suffered a broken ankle, had PT and taken care of my disabled husband. The grocery pickup and delivery options to be most helpful. All the workers I've encountered have been helpful and most are cheerful to boot. Kudos to the grocery pickers and the delivery people. They should be recognized for their plain good old service. read more

A lot of comments already made about this place are SPOT ON! Nice place to shop for all of your needs but the store is poorly mapped out. The people who work here are nice - except for the managers. I had a bad experience one time but thought it might have been a "one-off" so I went back again. And saw that was not the case. Being open 24/7, Meijer is a convenient store that sells everything from groceries to clothes. Meijer is somewhat similar to the Wal-Mart stores. It's just a little bit cleaner with some better shopping options. Located on the corner of Telegraph and Stewart, you can't miss it with it's large parking area. Wendy's and Buffalo Wild Wings are also conveniently located in front of Meijer. This store is older but it's still kept clean and organized. Service here could be improved. It seemed to take a village to solve a question when checking out with my items. Their chain of command in getting things done was time consuming and frustrating. A word of advice: never steal from Meijer. Their loss prevention is the best. Fun fact: Meijer's greeters are part of LP and when they are alerted to a shoplifter they will organize the baggers to block the doors and apprehend thieves, so yeah, don't steal from them. This is a fine store for your one-stop shopping needs. They have good prices and variety. This location is kept clean. Unfortunately the stock runs out often so if there is a sale get there nice and early. The lines at the registers are usually kept under control. Be prepared to bump into everyone you know when you go. On the other hand, isn't it like that everywhere in Monroe? Well, anyway, don't wear your pajamas in unless you don't mind running into friends while you're in your slippers. read more

Meijer in Monroe MI closes it's bottle returns to add new machines. They are not accepting returns even though it is a state law that retailers selling these items must accept bottle returns. It's not bad enough that they make you lug them all the way to the back of the store. Now they are not taking them at all. I noticed they did not stop selling beer and pop though. I do not live in this area, but I love going here every time I'm in town. They have beautiful flowers as soon as you walk in. I love the orchids. I find their prices are fair in every section, even the groceries. Nice workers that are willing to help you. read more

Meijer is a generally great grocery store and where I do all my shopping however, I tried the grocery curbside feature at the Monroe location and am very frustrated!!! I ordered and was in contact with the shopper the whole time but she they never brought the groceries out and Meijer charged me. I have called 4 different times and spoke to 3 different people and have not been able to get refunded for the groceries that I never got.. It has been 11 days and nothing.. I will think twice before using this service in Monroe again!!!! read more

Usually have good gas prices. Has a nice clean convience store inside with a clean public bathroom. Employees are friendly. Has a wide variety of items. They are moderately priced. Last a knew at 11:00 pm or midnight they lock the door and have a window you can use to pay. You can still ask for store items from the cashier. read more

Usually have a good experience at our local Meijer. Use it almost exclusively. Love the MPerks, especially at the pharmacy. Had an incident at the checkout where we had a spill. A package opened and spilled quite a bit while moving bags. The cashier Sharon didn't handle it well. While she wasn't outwardly rude she was quite grumpy about the whole thing. I know it was a bad deal but could have been dealt with better. I've been going to that Meijer for years and know which cashiers I like and which I don't. Nora is great. I'd like to party with her. Bet she would be fun. I guess I'll just avoid Sharon. read more

I wanted to update this review because I think this location really goes above and beyond. Sometime recently I was at Meijer right before a giant snowstorm was coming. A mistake, I know. Meijer was PACKED. This was before Christmas, so it was snowpocalype and Christmas shopping rolled into one. There was a long wait at the front, and there were Meijer employees not only directing traffic to get us through the lines quickly, but they also had someone walking around asking if we wanted some cookies. FREE COOKIES! How can you get mad about waiting in line when you have a bakery fresh cookie to eat? Just another way that they show they do care. :) read more

Jus poorly managed. It was bad before Covid and this location is still poorly managed. Many items that are out of stock at this location are available at other locations. Usually long lines to checkout. Your better off going down the street to Wal Mart. read more

I was on the phone trying to ask a simple question and I waited for 50 MINUTES!!!!!! They overbook the curbside delivery so my order has been postponed 6 TIMES!!! I like their sushi and bread. I hats them. But I will go there tomorrow. 11/7 would recommend. read more

The bathrooms aren't very clean and the store itself is a little outdated. The selection and prices of merchandise is average. Garden stock is not taken care of very well in the growing season. read more

Meijer is my store of choice in town being that it sells just about everything I need and it doesn't make me cringe like the similar stores in town. The store is large and roomy and I don't get run over by kids pushing carts as much as I do in the other grocery stores, either. That's always a plus for me. Produce here is good... meat sometimes isn't great. Lots of freezer burn. Really annoyed by their marketing move to put the HBA on one side of the store and grocery on the other. It made much more logical sense to have them near each other, but I know they moved it so more people would have to travel across the store picking up random items as they went. Lots of self-scan lines if you prefer to do it yourself and get out of there (usually) a bit quicker. read more

When I grocery shop, I buy certain items at Kroger, produce at Walmart, meats & odds & ends at Danny's, & the bulk of my shopping is done at Meijer, mainly because of the MPerks reward. I really don't care for Meijer produce. They put out cut up melons & they are not ripe! I've had to return them. And I hate returning anything at Mejer because their employees act like the money is coming out of their pockets and they make you feel like you're doing something wrong or like you're trying to get something free when you need a price adjustment. Seems like I'm forever arguing with them! Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" It's not Meijer's motto! I hate having to go to the service desk! read more

Shopped here yesterday and saw Corelle dishware marked half off for a 16 pc service for 4. Picked up 2 sets, but when I checked out, I was charged full price. When I called the cashier on it, she made a phone call and evidently it was "mis-marked". I was also told that mis-marking happens more than "I might think". Needless to say, I didn't buy them. Methinks that if you advertise a product as being on sale you should honor your advertised price. Very disappointed. read more

Monroe's Meijer (not Meijers, people!) is exceptional. I've never had a bad experience there! The staff is helpful, fast, and friendly. The prices are never bad, and it's usually never that busy. Even when the parking lot looks full, it's still never packed inside. I'd say it's the best grocery store in town! read more

Meijer used to be my go to store for everything. I STOPPED SHOPPING THERE AS MUCH ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO BECAUSE THEY NEVER KEEP ENOUGH SALES ITEMS IN STOCK. IT WAS JUST EASIER TO GO ELSEWHERE TO FIND THE ITEMS. TODAY I decided to go check it out again. Give it another shot, thinking maybe it has changed. No it has not. Upon entry we went to the bathrooms. There is a supposedly handicap stall there but a garbage can blocks it. So we move the can and THE HANDICAP STALL IS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR A REGULAR SIZE PERSONAL WHEELCHAIR TO GET IN AND TURN . IT IS NOT EVEN ABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR IF HELP IS GIVEN FROM BEHIND BECAUSE THE DOOR SWINGS IN. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE STORE CART ONES, A I'M SAYING A PERSONAL ONE. The other bathroom is completely out of order and unuseable too. BLOCKED COMPLETELY OFF.. INACCESSABLE. An associate states that theres a bathroom in the back we can use. So we go all the way to the back and wait only to be told sorry no access.. employees only. So we stop at fish. THERE IS A 10 FOR 10 SALE.. YEAH I like that so we wait.. an extremely long time.The associate Shawna finishes the person she is helping and leaving. I remind her a 3rd time I need help and she says" Can I help him first?" Looks like he's her friend. I remind her I have already asked for help 2x before and have been patiently waiting. No I can't wait .She asks what I want and I tell her the 3 kinds of fish I want and how many. She turns around and says "its a 10 for 10 sale. This is crazy" to him. She goes and gets a cup and is talking to this man. Comes back and asks me again what I want. She leaves again and gets a bag repeats the same process of asking what I want for the # for fish and rubber bands etc.. each time having to go back there and talk to him for about a half hour. SHE WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD WHAT WAS NEEDED BUT NOT ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING. We literally had to explain over and over and over again to her what was needed and even had to let her know that you need to put more than 1 inch and a half of water in a bag with 4 fish . It was awful. If we had not had 3 kids there waiting for their fishies we would have left them. My daughter did the shopping while I waited and still had to wait at least 15 minutes for her to get 10 fish out of 1 tank, ALL THE TIME SHAKING HER HEAD IN DISBELIEF because of this lady's actions. I totally expected for at least 2 of the fish to be dead before we got home because she kept holding them out of the water. As usual at checkout ther lines were long and slow but that is how meijer lanes always are.We were looking for lysol wipes on sale but no luck there either. read more

I drove 30 minutes out of my way because I was sure Meijers would have Mens winter gloves. I laughed when I saw the swim suits and asked the manager how many people were looking for bikinis. Then went hunting for the winter gloves. There were none. NONE. On February 3rd With an outside temp of 15 degrees. The sales lady said she thinks there might be some at the Family Dollar store . What poor thinking on the part of Meijer's management.They make you go into the store to shop at the outdoor garden center. The outdoor area of the garden center was locked down so no one could enter. Really ? Why would any management force people thru their potential Covid-19 invironment.Since I know the store layout and I had a mask on I thought I'd go thru the first door by their pharmacy to get back outside as quickly as possible. NO Way. That was locked down also so I had to go further into the store to get outside. Then the garden center attendant didn't even know what perlite was or where it was located. He did let me out the locked gate so I didn't have to go back inside. They also have never been able to offer the curbside pick up like Gordan Foods. or Dannys, or Tractor Supply. I would advise everyone to just stay away for the next 2 years or until there is a treatment for Covid-19. They are not smart enough to protect the customers that they had. Needs more carts with the benches for people who have children. Also, they rarely have enough check out lines open for the amount of traffic they get. Also, the bathroom is located in a highly inconvenient spot. The store is large, pretty much always has what I need, and I've never met a rude staff member. read more

I've had bad experiences with mijiers over the years, they bait and switch with prices, you think your getting a deal because of the price on the shelves or peg but when you check out the item rings up at a higher price, this has happened time after time. They're counting on the customer not watching as the cashier is checking you out so you don't notice what they've done and if you call them out on it they call the department and miraculously all the items have been moved from the price point. I will be shopping at other stores from now on. read more

I travel over 15 miles one-way to shop at Meijer. The customer service desk is always helpful and friendly. Their sales are great; store is normally well-stocked. Their meats and produce are truly second to none. The produce is so fresh, it's like it just was picked out of the field and the variety of the produce is outstanding. The meats I've had are extremely tasty and great values. My ONLY complaint about Meijer are simply the cashiers. They are very unfriendly, and truly, the slowest at checking people out of any store I've shopped at. I don't know if these people are in a union, or if they are just slow to encourage shoppers to go to the "self check-out" stations or what, but again today, SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. They never appear talkative or friendly, and they take their sweet old time. Today, I waited for an "over-ride" from the customer in front of me. Then the cashier left her station to try to find the shopper who left without all of her items. Finally came back, after speaking to another employee for a few minutes while everyone in line waited. Offered NO assistance to the lady in front of me, who was in a handicap cart, and made her wait just like everyone else. If it takes you an hour to purchase groceries here, just plan on a 20-30 minutes check-out time. Lots of registers, just a few open . . and you can time them on a calendar. read more

This is a pretty decent store and usually has good prices on most things. I would say that it outperforms the local Walmart down the street. Employees also seem happier and friendlier. Pharmacy wait time is sometimes a little long though. read more
