This year was my first time attending the Fourth of July firework display here. My children had an absolutely amazing time and I enjoyed watching them have the time of their lives. There were vendors for food (the lines were not terrible while I was in line), but bringing food and coolers of your own were also allowed. The music, firworks, and energy of the crowd made for a good experience . If ever attending, please expect departure to be ridiculous. The parking deck was nearly at capacity when we arrived so we had to park at the very top, the elevator lines were long (we had a stroller) and the elevators were slow due to so many people using them. Despite this everyone was cooperative and rudeness did not exist that night ( thank God). Definitely don't mind going again. read more

This is a nice park on the waterfront that has a lot of shade trees and good paths for taking a stroll. There is an area for live music and family festivals. The park is across the street from many downtown hotels and businesses. read more

One of Norfolk's gems, waterfront park where a ton of spring, summer, and fall events are produced. For those of us lucky to work downtown, it's our quick "Serenity Now" moment when we need one. Wish I could give them 10 stars!! read more

I always have a nice time at Town Point Park and today was no exception. The NATO International Festival was a lot of fun. Great exhibits from the different Countries and fun music, as well. The food was tasty, too! Can't beat free admission either! read more

Got to love how this park in Norfolk can unite so many people for many different events and yet remain an open, public, beautiful space to relax in, have a picnic, or a pleasant stroll through - when not under event occupation. I love coming here to watch the sunset over the water on a normal evening, but I've enjoyed copious events such as Night Nation Run, Wine Festivals and other community led festivals without paid entry. It's a great space and remains clean and well looked after. Every city needs a park like this, so I feel blessed to have this particular one in ours. Enjoy! read more

I decided to attend Harbor Fest at Town Point Park this weekend, and boy, oh boy, was i pleasantly surprised. This park is located in the heart of Down Town Norfolk Waterside district and right off the river, so it's very magical, in my opinion. It has a lovely place to have events. It has a massive layout, so it is used a lot for festivals in the summer. There is plenty of space for vendors and even enough space for about three stages. The commute here is easy peasy, and there are plenty of options to park. We parked in a parking garage 2 blocks down from this park. There are so many restaurants to choose from right next door to this park and down the street. You have Nautilus and many other venues, a short walk, and an even shorter drive from this park. If you want to have a picnic, play some games or just chill by the water this place is it. So get your picnic baskets and blankets or grab and book and come here because this is a gem of a park. Outstanding job to the City of Norfolk! read more

I like this city waterfront park in downtown Norfolk at waterside. It's pretty and easily accessible with tons and tons of parking nearby. There are city garages and there are also some metered spots if you can snag them right in front. Walking paths follow along the waterfront and give a gorgeous view of the water and there are some boardwalk wooden sections as well as grassy sections to even things up. I like that it goes from Waterside area on a waterfront section past the boats to the Nauticus and then even continues through past the water to the Norfolk Pagoda garden. It's very pretty and a lot of the city races run through here. read more

Town point park is located nicely in between the waterside District and nauticus. I love the events held at this park. It's a rather large area that sits right next to the water. From here you can watch as the spirit of Norfolk takes sail. I find it best to park in one of the garages located across from the park. This is a beautiful area to take a walk around and let the kids get some energy out. I absolutely adore the water fountain area the kids always migrate to. Benches are located all around making it easy to take a break and take in the scenery. When events are held here, you can be sure to see a great variety of food trucks pull up. The wine festival is always a big hit here, and one of my favorite events held at town point park. read more

If you have small kids, this is a great park to take them to run around. It's a large green space by the water and several museums. There isn't a playground, but the nearby shops should keep kids entertained. There are statues throughout the park and the Elizabeth River Trail runs through it. I recommend taking it north to Cure Coffeehouse for a latte and bite to eat. read more

More than just a park, this is also a neat bandstand and spot for music and other festivals. Nothing like that going on tonight, so I just took the opportunity to enjoy a lovely walk along the water and the scenery. I strongly encourage you to visit the Armed Forces Memorial at the end of the walk. They have immortalized a number of letters sent home from soldiers. The one from the Civil War back to his wife, where he dies a week after writing it really broke my heart. read more

Our first time in Norfolk, and the first impression of this park was mixed. I personally like to see lots of trees in a park, closer to what it must have been like before this park was 'built.' I have a feeling though that the locals might enjoy this park in different ways than me, and I can see how the 'open field' would be a great site for. Festival, market, etc. ++ Benches Well-maintained grass Waterfront, downtown location - - Lack of trees/shade Lack of amenities read more

Festivities galore!!! Enjoyment for everyone!! There is something always going on at Town Point Park...especially during the warmer months. Last Saturday I attended the Carib Fest!! Such a grand time. The parade of flags...Carnival!!!! It was awesome!!! The parade started at noon...and I arrived right on time to witness it all. My friend was even apart of the parade. One of the Carnival participants walked up to him...gave him the cow bells...and he began to walk in the parade and shake shake shake!!!! Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuwe....this was so awesome to witness!! I understand this type of happening goes on quite often in the Caribbean countries. I love to party and to experience this every weekend...man O man!! I would be a party girl indeed!!! Everyone looked like they had a great time. The parade took place on Waterside Dr. which is adjacent to Town Point Park. After about 90 minutes the parade ended and the party headed over to Town Point Park. Entrance into the Carib Fest was $5 for children (6 and up) and $10 for adults. This event is not sponsored by Festevents. Therefore, money is collected to pay for security and clean up crew I'm sure. Most events here do come with a price tag. But I have never attended an event here and was unhappy at the cost!! Norfolk's Town Point has a lot to offer...check the fest event website or word of mouth ...trust me something is always going on here. Not just on the weekends, but activities for the kiddies are held on Wednesdays. There is also a 'Fresh Catch Friday' that goes down every Friday evening. Good music and big fun if I had to sum up this park. There is an onsite eatery (they sell alcohol beverages as well) as well as a few restaurants (Hooters and Joe's Crabshack) inside of Waterside (right next to the park). Now this park is mainly for entertaining. You will not find a playground, water fountain or kids running wild. Very seldom do people just show up here with no event going on. The park is great for running, walking and/or just relaxing while enjoying the breeze off of the water. So check your calendar and see when you are free to come. Have fun :0) read more

This is the prime location for most of Norfolk's summer events, very spacious and over looks the water. Lots of space for food trucks and vendors. When it rains too much the grass can get a little messy but they usually lay mesh down. read more

Really cool waterfront park in downtown Norfolk. Large green space, stroll around, check out the boats with corny names - 'Seas the day', 'It's aboat time' and 'Knot for Sail'. You can walk right along the water, but there is no railing. Not good if you had too much to drink? Evening cruises at 7pm. No parking adjacent to the park itself, you have to park closer into the downtown area, probably in one of the garage. Also nowhere to eat by the park, not even snack stands, but you are a quick walk from Granby st for example, where you can find plenty of options. There is an Armed Forces Memorial part by the corner of the park, where letters from soldiers of old wars to those back home have been made immortalized. This park is one of the best features of Norfolk. read more

Not a traditional park with trails but a great waterside view with sidewalks to sit and watch the sunset.

What a sweet location! Pretty much everything that I've seen hosted here is a free event. I just attended the Mid-Summer Fantasy Fest and it was a blast! I loved seeing everybody dressed up for the event. It definitely didn't hurt that there were Pokestops EVERYWHERE and they were lit up with lures. Honestly, if it wasn't for the Pokestops and people walking around, I wouldn't have known the Pagoda was right around the corner from the USS Wisconsin. Anyways, I love how open the park is and how it's set up. It's a great place for events to be and I can't wait to attend another! read more

Went here for Hampton Roads Pride Fest 2018 and loved it! Wasn't overly crowded or anything. Space was nice and clean however it would've been better with more shaded areas from the sun. Overall had a great experience at this park and got to see Jussie Smollett perform live! read more

Town Point Park represents all that is right with Norfolk. It is a great open space next to the river, and is home to weekly festivals and gatherings throughout the summer. Not to be missed is the Bayou Boogaloo, one of the best Cajun Fests anywhere outside of the Big Easy. The staff here is very experienced in putting on events, so everything is thought out and correct. Just enough security types roaming around so that the party doesn't get too out of hand, but not so many that you feel like you are partying at a Soviet Bloc country in 1978. Parking is no problem at all, there are tons of parking garages in the area, including the garage at the mall. Riding your bicycle is also a very viable option. The events seem to dry a really nice cross section of people, most of them friendly enough to strike up a random conversation here and there. During the larger events, there are often three bands set up and performing in this park, which is somewhat surprising because it doesn't seem large enough for that many...but it works! There are also events going on at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, but I almost never go to those. Instead, I come here and hang out and enjoy the music, the people, and the vibe. And, of course, the jambalaya during the Bayou Boogaloo. The old Waterside building looks like it is finally going to get the renovation that it has needed now for quite awhile, my only hope is that the developers will respect what Town Point has become and not screw with that vibe. read more

Town Point Park is just an awesome place that is right in the heart of Downtown Norfolk. It's one of those places that just adds to the special 'local' scene of the area. There are SO many different things that go on here, there are festivals such as Wine Fest, Beer Fest, Bayou Boogaloo, as well as the biggest festival this area has: Harborfest. There is live music that plays here from time to time and the area is always open just for walking around. Town Point Park just went through a huge renovation and it is better than ever. I highly suggest you go check it out as soon as possible, whether there is a specific event going on, or maybe just to stroll around on a lazy Sunday afternoon. read more

This park is the best spot to host large events. The water view is a nice change to look at over all the buildings. This was my first visit since the new Waterside area and I would like to take a closer look next time when it's less congested. I visited the Norfolk Harborfest events. I try to go early as its easiest on me with kids in tow. We park in Portsmouth and ride the ferry acrossed! We start our adventure with the 12 parade of sails! Followed by free samples, games and checking out the various boothes. Lastly we finish off with a stop at some food truck of which there's a truck for everyone's palette. Seafood, chicken, smoothies or tacos! The parade is nice to see and usually you can find a hole to see the show for everyone's perspective. You will see ships from near and far. Local ships, battle ships and pirate ships! There are concerts in the evening along with fireworks. Definitely a family friendly event and free admission is a bonus! read more

First time here attending the Harborfest. This was an outstanding fest. 5-6 ships from different countries on display and offer self paced tours. Plenty of food and drink choices from all the food trucks/trailers. There are little events and shows to entertain all ages throughout the 3 days. The military does a a few great demonstrations. Several local vendors selling/offering discounted prices on their services or products. Excellent event to be had by all. NOTE: bring sun block. read more

This is an awesome park on the water -- several places nearby to park in the garages and the scenery is beautiful. Apparently you can catch the ferry too - though we didn't do that. Post-renovation, Town Point Park gets five stars. I honestly tried to have a cynical thought about the place. Because that's how I roll, I guess. But when I dig down deep, I just don't. If you want to make visitors feel like they're somewhere where things are going down, take them to Town Point Park during a festival. Sit them on the nice green grass with a libation in their hand, live music on the stage, party people everywhere, a nice breeze off the water and seaworthy vessels of all shapes and sizes cruising to and fro just yards away in the Elizabeth River and dare them not to have a good time. The recent renovation helped tremendously with crowd flow and overall comfort. Town Point Park is where it's at. read more

Great space with lots of events in the spring and summer. Just wish they had complimentary parking.

Town Point Park is a beautiful place, right on the water, right next door to the future Waterside Live and home to many of norfolks great events including harbor fest and the many wine festivals. Its a pretty location and perfect for a good hashtag no filter instagram shot. But who in the city of Norfolk agreed that when designing this place that putting turf grass in a city location that has heavy rain and flash floods was a smart idea? Cross your fingers that whatever event you do attend here that it doesn't rain the week before or any days leading up to it. The turf gets so soft and soggy after it rains that its starts to ripple and become muddy. If you do venture out here after my warning, wear boots or shoes you don't care about. Other than that, its a great place to be. read more

Loved the vista from this park. We walked along the water and there was a lot going on. There was a marathon ending right at the park, there was the waterfront beauty, there was a foreign ship in port that we were able to tour. It was lovely and I will go back. More to see. read more

As a runner, I'm a huge fan of Town Point. It would've been very easy for the City of Norfolk to set up some sprawling corporate monstrosity here. The park has a lovely path right along the water, that actually continues straight through Nauticus, the Pagoda Restaurant, and into the Freemason district, which is perfect. While they did tear out literally ALL of the shade when they re-did the place, they added a lot of things that make festivals convenient, like power risers, etc... But as far as places for fairs and festivals go, due to the lack of shade, I've seen much much better. read more

My workday is something like this: Coffee. Need more coffee. What does this e-mail mean? This is a cool campaign, how can we make ourselves stand out more? Oh boy, I need to think of something clever. I can do this, it's why they pay me. But how am I'm supposed to do all this before tomorrow? Dang it, I have a meeting, I'll have to come back to this later. As a professional working in Downtown Norfolk, this park keeps me sane! Between meetings, during lunch, or any break I can get, I come here to walk along the water and get my creative juices flowing again. It usually takes me just 20 minutes to clear my head as I walk from one edge of the park to the other and back. I keep flip flops and tennis shoes under my desk for these occasions. I'm not alone. I see all kinds of professionals doing the same thing. Badges around their necks, business suits and white tennis shoes. The City recently renovated the park and it looks spectacular. It's mainly a hub for weekend events in Norfolk: Wine Festival, Bayoo Boogaloo, Harborfest, Jazz Festival, Caribbean Festival, on and on. There are grassy patches where tents and booths will be set up for these events, and connecting concrete paths for traffic between them. It's a great venue because there is tons of garage parking across Waterside Drive so it's easy to access. read more
