We had a great time. The seating around the play area is comfortable, and you can easily move to a new bench as the children move from set to set. There is a covered seating area if the children need a break from the sun or rain, Smiles! The restrooms are well maintained and stocked with what you need. The parking lot is spacious, and lots of spaces are covered by shadows from the trees, so your car stays cool. There were several employees walking around just to check on visitors. It made me feel safer because I knew the attendants were there. The waterfront area is beautiful. I am going to come back with the hubby for a romantic walk before dinner.

Last month, I joined a friend of mine for a morning stroll. Let's see how the visit turned out. I met my friend outside of the information center on an early Saturday morning. The weather was cold but not to where walking was impossible. The path we took, Wetlands, was pretty good and mostly dry. It's the main one we take everytime I visit. I was surprised there weren't other people out and about since it had sunshine, but it was cold and breezy. Just the way a nice trail should be on a Saturday morning. Overall, a pretty good time to get some exercise in. This park is one which will continue to be one of my favorites. Till next time :)

I have been here several times and it's never crowded, usually only on or two other families. We really like this park! Just wish there was an actual bathroom . Update: park is open. Park was empty besides park workers taking their lunch break in the parking lot. No children at the playground. Park is still well kept. Park is not covered so depending on time of day, the sun beats down intensely. Picnic tables are accessible, drinking fountain is also available as well as a spot to refill your water bottle. They have a small area to exercise on the metal bars provided. Two porta potties on site. The side trail is somewhat overgrown now covering some of the path, luckily there are plenty of branches that can be used as a walking stick to move the overgrown shrubs out of the way.

I love it here! I…read morehaven't visited this park in years. And I must say, when I visited last I do not remember it looking as it did when I visited about a month ago. I toured the park on an early evening during the week. I am looking to host an event here soon and figured I'd check it out first before reserving. One must contact Parks & Rec to reserve the shelters located here. There is a huge shelter towards the back of the park that looks to be perfect for a party size of 100 or less. The park is beautiful. There is a body of water in which one can sit or stand and enjoy the views. Super quiet and I love it. There is also an area in which one can exercise by following the posted exercises in a sand pit. I love this feature! There is a playground for the younger and older children. Swings are even featured here! I love the swings :) This park isn't super huge but I think it's a great size and you are lucky if you are the only one renting a shelter... it's small enough to feature an intimate setting... like a private party but you only rented one shelter. Parking seems decent. I think 20 cars can fit into the parking lot without worry but if more start to show up, this could be a problem. I am not sure if overflow parking is nearby. There is a narrow street leading to the park so one may be able to park on one side of the street... if not...not sure what the back up plan is. I'd say there are plenty of trees at this park so shaded areas are definitely present. At least one grill is located near each of the three shelters. I'd recommend you visit this hidden jewel in Chesapeake. I'm looking forward to returning soon. Have fun and enjoy life :)

The park is in Bayside, around a mile East from Pembroke Meadows school on a dead end Pembroke Blvd. Pembroke Meadows Recreation Center is directly across the street. The park offers a beautiful water view with a canopy of beautiful tall pines for shade. There are around a half dozen picnic tables and a few charcoal grills. A drawback is no shelter, or restroom facilities. In the center is a small kids play area for 12&U which I find hard to believe a child over 9 would enjoy. It's in great shape and offers a curly slide and two small slides. There are also climbing elements. Also offered are swings for both toddlers and older children. Now from a nervous parents perspective. Also from a guy that lives at pools and preaches water safety. You MUST be extremely diligent when bringing small children to this park. Especially if they cannot swim and prone to gravitate to water. There is one large area that you can just walk right out in knee depth water and does get deeper. Come check this quaint city park out. Just don't tell the neighbors know I let cat out of the bag.

This location is on the Virginia Beach/Norfolk line. This is a neighborhood park maintained by the city of Virginia Beach. It's behind the Farm Fresh grocery strip mall at the corner of Diamond Springs Rd. and Wesleyan Dr. I am surprised that I never saw it before, but you can see it even though it's back a ways. Parking is off the street and plenty of it for a neighborhood park. Hours are sun up to sun down. The area is safe for children to play and recreate. The playground is nothing special at all. It's a very basic park with almost no amenities. The equipment is in good condition, I saw no graffiti on any surface. There are four pieces of equipment. The central playground, two sets of swings that include toddler swings and a climbing piece. There are two benches within the playground. The mulch appears fresh and no debris has been present. There is also a small shelter with a picnic table. However, there is no BBQ grill which you will usually find. I have been there on several occasions with debris present in the shelter area. A trash can is present by the shelter was had been recently emptied. There are no restrooms which is customary at these type of small local parks like this. This is NOT a Virginia Beach sanctioned dog park. There is no station for picking up dog litter at the park. The field behind the playground is humongous and not fenced. By far this green space is the best thing Cypress Point has going for it. The grass is not out of control, but on my last visit it was overdue for a mow. Bottom line, the park is extremely functional as a park and the green space makes it useful for both kids and dogs. I find the park convenient for me since I reside close and find myself at VWC several times a week. I am a 2.5, round to a 3.

This is a neighborhood park located in Broad Bay Estates off of Great Neck Rd. The proximity to one of my favorite parks in the area, Great Neck Park is incredible. It's probably only a half mile. As a matter of fact the neighborhood opens a gate on weekends that connect the park and Great Neck Rec Center. The equipment is pretty standard for Virginia Beach parks and is in great shape. It offers some slides and climbing area's. The age appropriate according to the sign is 5-12 yrs. I really cannot see child over 9 wanting to play on it really. There are also swings older children to toddler. No shade is offered around the play equipment, so bring the sun block during the day. The amount of real estate this park occupies for a neighborhood park is amazing. I would say at least three acres. Someone has put up a volleyball net and a soccer goal, I believe this is not park owned. It;s cool that they have two very small shelters, just enough for one picnic tables and a few grills. A drawback is no restroom facilities. Also at issue is parking, there is no formal lot, so I imagine street parking is permitted. If your wanting a play area to yourself you would probably find this one with much lower numbers than the adjacent Great Neck Park. The GN park however is superior and recommend over this one. The biggest benefit that I see over other parks is the amount of field space for all types of activities. I am a fan and my kids enjoyed themselves too.
