I often find myself chatting with employees as I shop, and there is a woman at the front register who practically can't wait to talk about how happy she is, which is such a nice boost and welcome change! Store is always clean, even if there are 3-4 people checking out at once the second person on shift always comes up to get you through quickly. Pharmacy folks are also really nice; one even came out from behind the counter one day to help me find the cold medicine I was looking for and suggest something that would help with my cough (it did. When WE called to confirm on July 25 at approx 625PM we were told that there were only 91 pills instead of the 120 pills which is what was prescribed by my doctor. This Walgreens pharmacy had NINE DAYS to ensure proper inventory. We were then informed by the pharmacist that WE had to "call the doctor and have them prescribe the remaining pills of the prescription". This also affects the pickup date of my next prescription which creates a severe hardship since I do not drive. Any other prescription - we have received text messages/reminders of scripts waiting or that there was only partial and that we have to wait until there was inventory to fulfill complete prescription. NEVER before did a pharmacy demand that I call my doctor to receive my remaining prescription which was on file with this store. I have switched stores due to similar problems but I have no problem REVIEWING WALGREENS IN A VERY NEGATIVE FASHION and moving to another pharmacy ie- WALMART. Either BAD MANAGEMENT at the two North Port FL stores (other store 1009 N SUMTER BLVD North Port, FL) or they are making up stories as to why Walgreens is making it SO difficult to fill a simple prescription. Unnecessary inconvenience/hardship to customers. My health and wellbeing can not afford Walgreens pharmacists playing games with my medications. HEY WALGREENS PHARMACIST... They took my Covid vaccine card and said I could not get it back until I received my booster. I understand that things happen but it was very discouraging because I could not even reschedule. As they refused to give me my vaccine card, therefore "forcing" me to stay and wait. I was extremely upset and politely conveyed this to the person behind the counter. My concerns fell on deaf ears, she walked away, without making any comment, except to say " taking your card is our policy". You cannot have it back until you receive your shot. So although they provide a service, be prepared to wait a bit even though you may have a scheduled appointment. Most told me they waited 45 minutes to an hour.

The pharmacy staff proceeded, behind the gates, to speak unprofessionally and rudely of the customers (including us) who were waiting for the pharmacy to open. The one young gentleman behind the pharmacy to quote stated, "Why don't people just wait for the text that their prescriptions are ready instead of wasting my time asking if its ready." The older gentleman waiting just shook his head and muttered "are you serious?" while my husband stated loudly "If you hate your job that much, just quit!" At this point, they decided to stop their conversation and open the pharmacy. They were no more pleasant than they were before they opened, where they acted as if they didn't know what Zrytec-D was, couldn't find it, so they just stated that they didn't carry it. Which they do but I wasn't going to get into an argument as we were already annoyed. We just walked out and went to Walgreens across the street. This is why this store looks like it closing and always empty. I am copying this review to their corporate office. The pharmacy is not busy any time I drive by nor does the store parking lot have more than 5 cars in it. Just tear it down and build another store in its place.
