I booked this Appartment online and it had great reviews. When we got dropped off, we couldn't get in the building. We dialed the number on the wall buzzer but there was no answer. Then we called the phone number on the receipt and a gentleman answered. He told us to call buzzer number 8. When we did, we were told to come up to the 3rd floor.
When we entered the building, there seemed to be construction going on as the floors were covered in paper through the corridors and stairs. The two elevators were very small (enough for one person with a suitcase comfortably or two people with suitcases and be very uncomfortable).
We went to the 3rd floor and one of the Suites was open. It was the management office. I checked in and the gentleman brought us to our room.
Typical Italian hotel room that's not very fancy. The shower and toilet were elevated and you had to climb steps for both. The shower was cramped like a cruise ship shower and since you have to step down after shower, it can be dangerous. There seemed to be water leakage every time we showered.
The bed was uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in your ribs. I got the worst sleep of my life the entire time we stayed here.
Now you wonder why I gave 3 stars...
You are literally steps away from Trevi fountain. The best part of Rome where you're 10 minutes walk from the Spanish steps, 20 minutes to the Coliseum/Forum, 15 minutes to the Pantheon and 25 minutes to Piazza Navona. Great restaurants all around.
I will be back to Rome again but next time, I'll be staying at one of the American chains. read more
