I came out to my car on Sat and noticed that I had a nail in my tire so I called TFT when they opened at 8 AM. They said that there were three cars in front of me so they could get me in for a patch at 9:30 AM. I asked how long it would take and they said 15/20 minutes - and I was clear that I had to leave by 10 AM to pick up my daughter and they said that was fine. I arrived at 9:25 AM to check in and was told that now, there was a 45 minute wait just to get my car into the bay, plus another 45 minutes to repair the tire. So, we went from "You'll be out by 10 AM? to this process taking an hour and a half. I spoke with a manager named Caleb who said he didn't know what happened and I showed him my call log on the phone to show that I had called in at 8 AM, re-arranged my morning and drove to this location based on the information I was given and he seemed not to care in the least. I completely understand if that is how long the process takes, but don't quote me one time and when I show up tell me something completely different. Initially called and spoke with Neil, ordered tires and made an appointment to have the work done a week from the following Saturday at 11:00 a.m. When the day came, I drove from Mansfield to Manchester with my wife following in her car so we could run a few errands while the tires were being put on. Dropping off the keys, I asked the clerk (not Neil) when the car would be ready. He told me 4:00 pm. I argued that I had an 11:00 appointment and that it was only about a hour's worth of work. I finally got him to agree to 1:30 P.M. We called the store about 1:15 and were told by a female operator that the work was in progress. However, when we got there at 1:30, the clerk informed me that no work had ever been done because the tires Neil ordered had never come in. Amazing. There was no apology, just "I don't know who you dealt with." When I told him I dealt with Neil, he just shrugged his shoulders and asked if I wanted to reschedule. Right. I told him no way ever and left. Btw, got a call the following Tuesday (from a third guy, not Neil or the clerk) that my tires were ready and I could drop my car off any time. I've had some bad experiences with auto service centers in my time but this one takes the cake. These guys represent the trifecta of bad business : poor communication, attitude and service. Made an appointment a week ago and showed up on time at the 328 Middle Tpke W, Manchester, CT 06040 for replacing all 4 tires and an alignment. Well, I was told that it usually takes about an hour, but will be a bit longer due to having a few walk-ins ahead of me! WTH? What's the whole point of an appointment if you take in customers as they walk in. I went with it and even pre-paid for it. Came back in two hours, but the car was still in the parking lot. So, requested a refund and left. Definitely NOT going back and will NOT take any of my family vehicles there.. Called around and was fortunate enough to get an appointment at another provider for the same tires and can tell you that it took about 2 hours total from driving into the location to getting tires replaced, balanced, alignment completed to paying and leaving a happy customer. This is how it's done. Appointments take priority over walk-ins! Respect customers time. read more

So I made an appointment to have 4 tires and a front-end alignment on my Ford F150. Arrived to have the work done, and they said I needed to come back they didn't have my tires. I went back Saturday 9/10/22 to have the work done. They had my truck for 5 hours. They called said truck was ready. Arrived to pick up my truck and the tech said they couldn't do my alignment because the truck didn't fit on the alignment machine. They said I had to have the alignment done somewhere else. Complete lie I had a front-end alignment there on December 10th 2021. They just didn't want to do the alignment what a bunch of morons. So I took my truck and drove off as the low tire pressure light came on. The idiots put 36lbs in the front and rear. Heavy duty truck calls for 55lbs in front and 60lbs in rear. Don't go here stay away I've been going here for 30 years. I will never go back, but I will return to show these morons the paid receipt for the front-end alignment in December. Went in for a leaking tire and TPMS sensor replacement. When I went to pick up, the leak was still happening. They went back to work on it immediately and dug deeper until they found and fixed the problem. Very happy with their commitment to getting it done right. I own a BMW with 19" run flat for high profile. I developed a flat and was able to get to a town fair tire center in Southington. I did not expect them to have this specific tire in stock at the store because it's not your regular stocked tire. I came in at 10 AM. They rushed the tire to get it delivered and I was out by 3PM. The staff was extremely helpful and did everything to get me in and out with little hassle Overall a very positive experience and a great price almost $200 less than BMW's price. Brought my car in for a flat tire, but the tech showed me that the inside tire was ripped. So two new tires are needed. They showed me the tire options for my car at which Point I had some questions on tire speed rating that the tech couldn't answer of the top of his head. Had to look it up my self. So we finish up the transaction and he tells me it'll be two hours, they seem slammed so no big deal. They take my number and tell me I'll get a text once it's ready, which is awesome because I can go home and not waste my time waiting. Two and half hours later I get a text, 20 minutes later I show up and the car isn't ready. They tell me that it's a quirk in the system and it sends the text after the tires are mounted but before the alignment is finished. Wtf, why wasn't I told of this before instead of wasting my time coming back just to wait some more. I hate waiting so I'll knock down 2 stars for that and 1 star for the overall dryness of the customer service (I.e. You walk in and you do not get any acknowledgement and once it's your turn to talk to them still no acknowledgment). read more

I bought 4 new tires and got a 4 wheel align. but they could not do the front end because the bolts were rusted. As if this is something they never see. Then told me they did the rear end and I should have my mech. loosen the nuts on the front end and bring it back. So I just went to the Ford dealer and had them do a 4 wheel align. and they did it no problem. The rear end which town fair said they did was totally out of align. So I called the store MG. and he refunded me my cost at the Ford dealer. I thank the mg. for doing this but the ability of the mech. is marginal. The person at the cash register inputting my information was basically illiterate! He had to type with one finger and sound out each character as he pressed the keys! On top of it, the people in the back just threw my spare back into my trunk, and didn't put it back in the slot! Overpriced tires. Since then I have gone to tire rack in Windsor ct, much cheaper cost for tires, larger selection. I came here as a walk-in at the end of the day needing a replacement tire for a flat that could not be repaired. Rather than just selling me the one tire I had come in for, they took the time to look at all my tires and noticed that at least one was at 3/32 and really needed to be replaced. They did not pressure me in any way to get very pricey tires or extra services. They even managed to fit me in that same day. I was very happy with my experience here. read more

Not because it took more than 15 minutes but because no one acknowledges your presence when you arrive and they will let others who came in to pick up their car pay before they will look at you. I didn't mind too much that they were 15% higher than other shops with their little add ons. Today was the last straw. Not a fan of the way this place conducts business. Called on a Monday to set an appointment for a Friday to have one tire ordered and replaced. When I got there it took the manager 30 minutes to figure out what the person over the phone had arranged for me only to tell me he didn't have the tire I ordered. The way the techs operate customers vehicles is with a lack of respect to say the least. I told them clearly the car had very low clearance and to use ramps and blocks to get the car on the lift with no issues so what do they do.. just send my car right into the lift Evel Knievel style with no regard and got it stuck which did damage to the plastics under the car. Aside from all of this the alignment tech did exactly what I asked and did his job correctly. read more

This Town Fair Tire is NOT recommended. They'll break off your TPMS sensor, and not tell you about it. You'll drive in without any TPMS warning lights, and drive out with them on. When I returned, they took a two-minute look at my car, and told me that one of the sensors wasn't "reading," and there was nothing they could do. That's weird, because my car's sensors were just fine before the work was performed. So, I took the car to another place, where they actually dismounted the tire, only to find that the TPMS sensor wasn't broken or bad, but was completely missing! I called customer service, but after being promised a follow-up, no one ever returned my call. Nice! Do yourself a favor, and go some place else for tires. Never again will I spend money at this place, what a waste. read more
