My former dentist stopped taking my insurance so I made the move to Town Center Dentistry. My first visit, my intake, I came in and did X-rays... and sat. And sat. And sat. And eventually someone told me we were done because everyone went out to lunch. I didn't see a dentist, I didn't get a cleaning, they did nothing but the X rays and no doctor reviewed them. Fine. Things happen. But this was a pretty remarkable waste of my time. I came back for another appointment, this time a cleaning. The dentist shook my hand and that was about it - no real exam, nothing. A few months later, I had an issue with a tooth I wanted to have checked out. The dentist did actually meet with me and sent me off with an RX, but at the follow up I met with an entirely new doctor who I had never seen before. No notice. My last appointment, once again, there was no dentist at all - it was just the hygienist who did my cleaning. She made a big to do of gum issues that I had never been alerted to before, cited a lot of bleeding, and said I should get a shot of Arestin in two spots. I do not bleed when I floss at home, I have never had a dentist suggest a problem -- not to say there ISN'T one, but I just... did not have a great vibe. Given the fact that I have met my actual doctor maybe one and a half times over an entire year, I decided this office isn't for me and will be moving back to my old office. read more

I used to enjoy going to Town Center for routine cleanings, but when I needed more serious work, the experience was very disappointing. I went in for tooth bonding to repair a hairline crack, but I left the office with the crack still visible, which immediately felt wrong. Within a day, the bonding began chipping, and within a few weeks it had completely fallen off and took part of my tooth with it, leaving it in worse shape than before. I understand bonding is not a permanent fix, but this was clearly a poorly done procedure from the start. I didn't feel comfortable returning, so I went to another dentist who repaired it flawlessly. My tooth still looks brand new, feels strong, and has held up perfectly. I wasn't planning to leave a negative review if I could have simply received a refund, but Town Center refused. Since it failed within just a few weeks, I think a refund would have been the fair resolution. Bonding, done well, should last a while. In the end, I'm glad I went elsewhere because the new dentist did an amazing job. Town Center is generally a good dentist for cleanings, but I'm disappointed in their customer service. She has cleaned my teeth twice, and made it such a pleasant experience. She also got me into tongue scrapping the first time I saw her after I asked about having a bad taste in my mouth leading to nausea. This office is going to rip you off with its Arestin scam. I had an exam and cleaning here and was told I had multiple deep pockets and was offered an Arestin injection for each one, at a cost of $90 per injection (totaling over $700 and not covered by insurance). This office incidentally has Arestin posters all over its walls. I did some research, and Arestin is used for patients with advanced gum disease, which I do not have. I switched dentists, and my new dentist confirmed that I do not have any deep pockets, do not have gum disease, and Arestin would have been a totally unnecessary treatment for me. I haven't been to see a dentist in 6 years. After plenty of nagging from my gf, I finally went. Recommended by my wonderful British friend who also almost never goes to the dentist, I landed here at Town Center Dentistry. I had such a great first visit with Dr. Avanesian and his staff including Adrienne, Arpie, and unfortunately I forgot the assistant and front desk girl's names. I always hate the X-ray experience but the assistant was very kind and helped me through it. Dr. Avanesian came in shortly after and explained the X-rays to me. This guy is really friendly and has such a big personality. Just the type of person I like to be in charge. The hygienist, Arpie measured my gums and gave me a cleaning. She was also very friendly and there was something about her that made me trust her with my teeth. Now, Adrienne. She made me laugh right from the beginning with her Rocky impersonation. I will definitely remember her name. Going to the doctors, dentist, and optometrist can all be very nerve wracking experiences but I can happily say that the team at Town Center Dentistry really knows what they're doing and they are easy and fun to talk to. I have a friend who told me he would never allow anyone else other than Dr. Hamlet to touch his mouth again, due to past traumas with other dentists. I knew all fillings I had on my teeth were done more than 15 years prior and I knew they needed to be replaced. So, I took a chance and booked my cleaning and x-rays with him. I ended up having to do an "onlay" in one tooth and change a few fillings. I was very apprehensive. They facilitated my payment and got the job done quickly, and without pain! I would like to first say I've never left a bad Yelp review in my life. But this is the actual worst dentist office I've ever experienced. Messed up my fillings. I have been in extreme pain ever since going to them. Went back in and they said they "fixed" them, which was utter bs. I'm now unable to floss, getting food stuck in my teeth, in pain, and just miserable. I have been downing Advil for my teeth. Got back into town and drove 45 mins to get to them and was told by the rude woman at the front that my insurance card had expired and they wouldn't help me. I used to go here a couple years ago but stopped because the hygienist was too rough when cleaning and even told me "if it doesn't bleed it's not being done right." I brush 2x/day, floss daily, and don't ever bleed, so there's no reason my teeth should bleed during cleaning. Then one of my tooth got nerve damage from the cleaning and has been dark in color ever since. I don't have tooth problems and the damage became apparent minutes after the cleaning so it was a smoking gun. They denied any connection. read more

Hard to know where to begin. I had a gum infection that didn't respond to antibiotics. I've been to several dentists this year and each gave me a different story. However, the infection worried me because it was new. I went to this office because it is a provider for my insurance. I trusted the good reviews on Yelp. Avenesian said they could take care of it that day. I agreed. Before any work was done, they wanted $1300. I paid them. I don't know the name of the dentist that did the procedure. He extracted two teeth & put in a temporary bridge. I had four temp bridges fall out in the first week. When I went in again he told me he was going to try something else. I'm don't know what that was. He also put in a temporary crown on one tooth, which fell out in two days. I had contacted my insurance company because the prices didn't match the fee structure, and they opened an investigation. When I went in to get the mold for my permanent bridge, they said I had to pay their price or they wouldn't send it to the lab. I told them I wasn't paying them any more until I got the report from my insurance company. I was bullied by Avenesian & Adrienne, the fee scheduler. She kept telling me she had talked to my insurance company & they agreed that her pricing was correct, which was a lie. I walked out with hardly any teeth in my lower right jaw. My insurance company agreed that I was being overcharged & refunded my $1300. I went to another dentist who said the span was too long for a bridge. I am in the process of trying to decide what to do. Shouldn't a dentist know that a supposed permanent bridge won't work on such a large span? It probably would also have fallen out. I'm 81 years old and have had a lot of work on my teeth over the years. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. What they tried to do is called extortion. If I hadn't been so worried about the infection, I would have asked more questions and blame myself for not doing so. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this dentist. He's rude & has no business being an HMO provider since he doesn't want to abide by their rules. read more

Dr. Avanesian is the greatest! I've had an anxiety of coming to the dentist for years now but I urgently needed to go now to get a new crown right before my wedding. He made me feel so relaxed at the dental chair and eased my experience. He even expedited my case to get the crown on 1 week before my wedding!! Talk about great customer service. The staff were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable. The office was also very clean with plenty of covid precautions. The office is highly modern. The dentist is of a happy nature, kind, and does a great job. The hygienists are highly trained. And there's a lot of attentive on preventive care. The only reason for the 4 stars is because I feel that the office has acquired too many patients. I called in a while back to set up an appointment with the doctor. My English is not very good, but luckily an Armenian speaker was available. For this review, I asked my daughter to correct my typos and grammar mistakes, because I believe it is important for me to share my firsthand negative experience at this place and prevent others from experiencing what I experienced. The person on the phone told me that I needed to come in earlier in order to fill out some paperwork. I once again mentioned to them that I am not very proficient in English, to which they told me "Don't worry, WE WILL HELP YOU FILL IT OUT" A few days ago, I had to leave my workplace early to arrive earlier to my appointment, as requested. As I arrived, a Persian Armenian lady with dark hair at the reception handed me paperwork to fill out. I mentioned the phone conversation to have someone help me, to which this lady rudely responded "YOU NEED TO BRING SOMEONE IN TO HELP YOU". She rudely repeated that they couldn't help me and that I would need to RESCHEDULE my appointment and bring someone in to help me. How hard would it have been to help me fill out this one sheet? I understand offices get busy, and I would have been willing to wait a little bit if asked to. That is no way to treat a patient, unnecessarily rude. What's the point of brining in multilingual employees if they're not willing to put their skills to use, to help someone with a language barrier fill out a piece of paper?! I not only fell behind on my work, I wasn't able to even see the doctor and was greeted by an angry and rude lady. The last thing patients need walking into a doctor's office, is uncalled for rude behavior and added frustration. Do better. read more

What I love most is how the dentists explain everything to me. I have ongoing problems with my teeth and have lost trust with a dentist in the past so I find it so helpful and comforting when they take the time to explain to me the details and the health/science. They will even send your x-rays for free to another dentist for a 2nd opinion and I appreciate that so much. Waited two years for my crown treatment to finish. It was always, " This next one will be it," and before I knew it I wasted two years! I ended up switching dentist and finally got the work done correctly. I also felt uncomfortable with being referred to as "sweetie" all the time. I think it may be a cultural norm, but I think it would be better for them to refer to patients by their names. Just my thought and preference. Overall, wouldn't go back. read more

On the plus side let me say that Dr Avanesian is extremely nice, excellent demeanor and just very friendly. My dental hygienist Arpy (spelling?) is also very sweet and calming. I was a regular patient for 7 ish years. Aside from those things that kept me going there I should have switched to a new dentist sooner. I'm a cash paying patient and every single time I came in, which they told me I needed to come every 4 months, they told me I needed Arestin. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I didn't agree to it every time but I naively did agree to it multiple times, which as a cash paying patient is very costly. I was convinced I had horrible gum issues, which I thought was odd because my previous two dentists always told me how great my teeth and gums were. The last 3 times I went in I was in a different room than usual, a room with another patient. All 3 of these times I heard them saying the same exact speech to those patients, how they had deep pockets in their gums and could lose their teeth eventually and needed arestin and usually a deep cleaning. It's pretty obvious that they must get kick backs for selling this and push it on every single patient. I feel like I've been robbed for years and never should have paid for Arestin multiple times. My other issue is that I had one cavity filled here and had to have it redone two additional times, and it still aches me on a fairly regular basis. I absolutely hate dental work so to need the same cavity worked on 3 times is pretty upsetting. Lastly now that I have switched dentists I called 3 times for my dental records before anything was actually sent to me. I was emailed my recent xrays with no date... so I had to reach out a 5th time because I need the date. Also no other records were sent to me despite me asking 3 times over the phone and once over email. I guess it doesn't matter that I was a loyal patient for so many years, once you leave they apparently are done with you. Very disheartening. I should also add that I was never seen on time. Once I actually left after waiting for nearly an hour because I had to get back to work. I waited anywhere from 20 minutes to usually more, at least a few times an hour to be seen even though I had an appointment. read more
