First Post-COVID Dental Visit - A Positive Experience with Increased Safety Precautions NOTE: As seeing a doctor is an issue that many people are concerned about, this review of my experience will be quite detailed. I had scheduled a routine cleaning appointment back in January 2020. Last week I received a call from the office manager who said that they were prepared to see me at my appointed time, but would understand if I wished to reschedule. I asked about their safety precautions and the office manager stated that only one patient was being seen at a time, that all procedures would be done by my dentist (not a hygenist), and that they were taking numerous precautions to keep people safe. When I agreed to keep my appointment, I was asked a series of questions about my health and activities (Did I have a fever? Did I feel sick? Had I been traveling). When I answered no, they said that I would be the first patient the following Wednesday morning. They asked that I call before coming into the office. On Wednesday, I called from my car after I parked, and was told that the office was ready for me. I was met by the office staff that took my temperature, offered me disposable gloves and masks (I already had my own), and was led to the treatment room. The dental equipment and chair had been wrapped in plastic for my visit. There was a HEPA air filter next to my chair. I was asked to sit and given a hydrogen peroxide solution to rinse to reduce the number of bacteria/microorganisms in my mouth. I was also given a pair of safety glasses to wear. Dr. Azarian arrived. She wore a surgical gown, gloves, mask, and a face shield. As the chair was lowered into position, she situated a standing piece of plexiglass between herself and my face. Dr. Azarian said that she wouldn't use the sonic cleaning tool as it caused to much vapor to escape and instead used the standard dental tools. After those initial precautions, my cleaning was largely normal. When she applied the fluoride to my teeth, I was asked to hold a suction hose near my mouth to capture any participles that might escape. As I left, they were disinfecting the room to prepare for the next patient (who hadn't arrived yet). The experience was really good. Aside from being an excellent dentist, I felt that Dr. Azarian was trying very hard to keep myself and her team safe during my visit. I highly recommend Dental Care Studios. read more

My mom went in for a routine exam and cleaning and this time her appointment was with Michelle the hygienist. She really took her time to do a full exam of her mouth, take measurements and did a great job cleaning. She also recommended some products which was very helpful. The dental assistant, Roobina, is very sweet, nice and friendly. She took the xrays and helped Michelle in documenting the measurements. We finally met with the dentist to go over some concerns. This is an amazing office! Pain-free and EVERYBODY is kind and caring. I'm PETRIFIED of the dentist. I have PTSD from having my gums scaled at a dental college 15 years ago where the pain was so bad I literally WET MY PANTS IN THE DENTAL CHAIR! I had to have my gums scaled again, because I never go to the dentist out of fear. A friend recommended Dr Azarian, and I'm so glad he did. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time. From cleaning to drilling to filling to lasering my gums. Any time I was in pain, she stopped. She gave me another injection of Novocain and waited until I was numb again. How does this place have 5 stars?! I had terrible service from this place I went to a different dentist! I went in for a deep cleaning and they ended up doing all these other things in my mouth that I didn't need and in the end they slapped me with $900 total? Oh and because of my dental insurance plan I had to pay the full amount that same day. They did not tell me I would have to pay everything and they did not tell me there were certain things they did that my insurance didn't cover. I called my dental insurance because it was weeks since they reimbursed me and they said they already sent the check to my dentist... i immediately called them and told them to give me my check and they said tomorrow because they were about to close. A month later my wisdom teeth were coming out so I called them to check them out. I told them I need the dentist to look at my teeth and I need to get a referral for an oral surgeon. The receptionist said yes we can see you and do a deep cleaning for you.. I was like no.. I need the dentist to look at my wisdom teeth and then she said oh you need us to do this and that. They were trying to take more money out of me but I didn't let them this time. The dentists I am going to now was shocked when I told her how much I spent on this place when they didn't even do anything. Apparently I had two big cavities that were about to hit a nerve besides all 4 of my wisdom teeth coming out. Seriously, I can't believe they would do that. Horrible place. Dr. Jacjlyn Azarian is absolutely the best dentist I have ever had. I don't like going to the dentist office, I usually get extremely nervous before every visit but she made me feel comfortable. I came across this office by accident and I'm glad I did. I had an appointment today with them for a cleaning .. I arrived and told them I was feeling a little sensitivity and that I didn't want the cleaning so they told me that would be fine .. I could reschedule the cleaning and they would start working on the tooth that was giving me problems.. it took less than 15 minutes for them to finish working on me. Mel was also amazing and she was extremely helpful with whatever I needed. I have already made my appointment for my cleaning and will definitely be coming back again in the future! Great staff and environment!! Just an update... I went back yesterday for a cleaning and Dr. Azarian does an amazing job at cleaning teeth .. never have I ever had treatment like that. Once she was done Rubina came in to floss and put some Florida I believe it was on my teeth. Rubina is the one who first saw me when I walked in and made my fears go away just by talking to me.
