Once I knew what I wanted, I looked over all the pastries available on display! Everything looked delicious. Between the Cruffin and the Pistachio Tres Leches Cake, I couldn't choose which was more appetizing. I decided on the Strawberry Vanilla Matcha Latte, since I've been on my matcha kick and it didn't take long for it to be ready. I took my first sip and I was in heaven! My drink tasted perfect!!! I opted for an Ethiopian pour over. The coffee comes in a large and priced competitive. It took a bit with being busy and a pour over, but boy was the wait worth it. Probably the best coffee I've had in any recent memory and I drink a lot of coffee. The space inside is compact, but they offer a side patio that's covered too! COVA is late to offering coffee, maybe 5 years or so. However, they are established with brewing award winning beer. I chatted with a female brewer a minute who was so sweet and invited me back for a glass. They also have a bakery case with offerings that looked good. So I need to return. So exciting to share such a gem in East Beach. Parking may be an issue, but off street neighborhood streets are available.

I can't help but wonder how many potential customers end up at Mea Culpa Coffee, which is right behind Toast and much easier to identify as a coffee shop. Once I went inside Toast and asked, the cashier explained that I was already in the right place. Mystery solved. I ordered the iced blueberry lemon zest matcha latte with coconut milk, and it was genuinely delicious. The blueberry and lemon complemented the matcha really well, making for a refreshing drink that wasn't overly sweet. My only hesitation is the price. At $9, it felt a bit steep for a drink that appeared to be about 16 ounces and was filled almost entirely with ice. While I enjoyed it and would order it again, I'd have a hard time justifying the price on a regular basis. Overall, the quality of the drink was excellent, but I think Kobros could make the experience even better by making their location more obvious outside of Instagram and offering a little more value for the price.
