Well, I normally go to the chains to get a haircut. But in Herndon, I was 0 for 2 at one, and the other was thankfully closed today. So I tried the Town Barbershop. I think I've found my go to haircut place. Sun not only did a great job, but was kind, extremely thorough, and left no hair "untrimmed." You'll pay a bit more, and it will take a little longer, but I promise you it's worth it!! read more

They do not follow what you want. They will just chop off your hair with the machine and don't have any scissor skills to even call themselves a barbershop. Do NOT go there. read more

I have not had a bad experience here. Fair rate and they do keep it moving. They do give you a break for cash. It is a close walk for me and visible from the street. Recommend if what you want is a straight forward haircut. They will do courtesy trims like your eyebrows. Very professional atmosphere. read more

I was excited to take my son here for the first time, thought the atmosphere would be great because he has never been to a real barbershop. I called to ask their rates and if they work with organizations who accept hair as donation for cancer or alopecia patients. They said they are not willing to do the haircut. They turned us down. They are an excellent establishment. I was a walk in and I got served very quickly. I appreciate that they take cash and card because most local barber shops only take cash. While there is an upcharge for credit card, it's convenient. They pay a great attention to detail and the result was amazing! read more

My husband got a haircut here. The haircut was fine, but the service was extremely rude. The woman pushed his neck around so much he came out with a headache. She would not brush the hair off his face, and when he brushed it off himself, she would stand back, huff and roll her eyes. When he went to pay she snatched the credit card out of his hand until he left a tip. Not a good experience. read more

I just had my first great experience with a good AND fast cut, no waiting, and very fair price. I went right about 5 minutes after opening as I was hoping to sit right down and got lucky as there was still one open chair. My first post-COVID haircut was dramatic taking off inches of hair - He did it quickly considering the transformation and made me look professional again. He finished up with the straight razor on my sideburns and neck, applied the hot towel and did a final comb and sent me on my way. *I don't like it when the Barber takes an extra 10 minutes fussing around after it is obvious they are done. I don't need to be convinced you worked hard or are paying close attention if the cut is high quality. That wasn't the case here- he just did the job quickly and well - and it wasn't quick because there were people waiting or anything like that. I am new to the area and needed to find a new barber - I got lucky with my first try and will be going back here again and again. I recommend Town Barbershop wholeheartedly. read more

Place I usually go to is closed on Monday and Tuesday, my schedule gave me an opening today so I was disappointed. Then on my drive home I noticed this new place that is actually walking distance for me so I figured I would give it a shot. They gave me a precision haircut and exactly the way I wanted it, the service here is excellent and the attention to detail is as well. Walked in this morning after grabbing some baked goods from Great Harvest down the road. Great location, free parking, friendly people, very clean, all COVID precautions they could take. Loved the full sized mirrors and the free DumDum lollipop after they finished me up. I just had my hair cut and beard trimmed by an angel/butterfly. I am telling you that you could see her eyes smile behind her protective mask. I think her name is Sun? Town Barbershop is a great place place to go for a haircut in the Herndon, Reston, Sterling area. It's a small barbershop in the historic district of Herndon but the shop is clean and has a "traditional" barbershop feel. Sun cut my hair and did a great job. She listened to what I wanted and took her time to do it right. The hot towel and massage afterwards was incredibly relaxing. They also offer a cash discount and at $20 it is probably the most affordable quality haircut in the area. I will definitely be going back. read more

Awesome barbershop! Great place to get a great haircut at an incredible price. I'm pretty picky with my hair and how I get it cut but I'm happy to say that I've found my go to place for haircuts. Sun and Luis are both super familiar with all the styles and current trends and can give you a fade that'll put your other barbers to shame. The shop is also very new, modern, clean, and comfortable. They take the hygiene of their tools seriously and make sure each customer is getting the A+ experience. Honestly, when I saw the shop I thought the price was going to be more in the $25-$30 range. However it was less than $20 for a haircut! Only $15 for first responders and military too. Price for the service, location, and quality of service cannot be beaten. As a new resident to the Herndon/Reston area, I've tried many of the other barbershops around here (Worldgate, Salon Plaza, etc) and highly recommend this place. It exceeds the others on all levels. If you're new to the area like I am, not happy with your current barber, or just looking for a change to try something new, give this shop a go. I live in Reston and used to go to the two large barbers there, but there were so many babrers at each that you never get the same barber twice in a row. So you could never develop a relationship with an individual barber who knew how you wanted your hair cut. A month ago I noticed a new barbershop in Herndon. It looked smaller and thought I might have a better chance of developing a personal relationship, so decided to give it a try. Sure glad I did. I went at 11am on a Friday - usually a busy time. But I was the only person, and "Sun" put me right into one of the four barber-chairs. She did a great job! One of the barbers at North Point had given me a very lopsided haircut, and Sun did a wonderful job of straightening it out. The shop is bright and airy. Only two of the chairs had names of the the mirrors - Sun and Luis - so I'm guessing that for now there are only two barbers. I will definitely go back. read more

Stopped by this place today on my way to the airport. I don't live in the area, but needed a haircut bad. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice, neat, and tidy shop! The staff there was very friendly. Sun cut my hair and I also decided to get a straight shave. Both the haircut and the shave were great. I will definitely come here again when in the area. Luis used to be a barber at a shop at Fair Oaks Mall, one minute from where I live. He has been cutting my hair for over a year. I ONLY go to him for a haircut. With this new shop in Herndon, it is a bit further for me to travel (about 20 minutes), but I wouldn't think twice about making the trip. This new shop is comfortable and inviting and offers a quality cut (and other barber services) at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to give Town Barbershop my highest recommendation.
