I called to book the hotel and got a packet via email inviting me to join the Marriott Bonvoy and to become a member. I don't stay at the Marriott but this can be considered. On the telephone they were very accommodating. 5/5 Arriving at the Marriott turned out to be pretty impressive to me, being that it's my first time booking and staying, I'm feeling like I'm breaking Quora perspectives. A very huge parking lot offering pay for parking, I saw two shuttle buses available for complimentary shuttle service to LaGuardia. I went inside and spoke to the front desk person. I gave her a cue that I had just joined because she was speaking as if I'm a long timer. She either didn't catch the cue or could give to pennies less for my giving her a heads up, wanting to be recognized and given the full introduction of what's in store for me. I wanted to be reeled in like a wide mouth Bass that has just bitten the bait and got snagged. I can elaborate more on how she didn't show any interest or was unenthused about selling the features of the hotel but I'll pause, I'm not here to beat her down, in just stating facts. I asked her about parking, she told me it was $40 and I asked her to add it to the room but she just looked at me, disregarded my request, and told me to swipe my card. Service .05/5 I stepped over to her coworker and he at least gave 4/5 service, informing me of amenities and perks. I go to my room and I see what they did. They person taking the reservation on the phone was very intentional. He gave me one of the best rooms, if not the best room with a premium view. See pictures. 10/10 That gestures alone keeps this rating high. I mean, they didn't have a pool but they did have flavored water in the lobby, lemon and orange. There are improvements that need to be addressed. If someone ask about the parking, go the extra mile to ensure that they know what's expected and the procedures that encompass parking on site. I did address the issue with the lady in the graveyard shift and she was a bit costic with no inkling on how to handle damage control. So what's good about being a Marriott Bonvoy member if you're not going to be treated as such by the staff when you arrive. The hotels that I stay in (Sonesta Suites) go all out every time I stay, even when I get free rooms. I'm not in a hurry to get back even though I'm a nember now. Yeah it's closer than going to White Plains NY but the service here is subpar in my experience. I just want to be well informed when I'm on site so that I can feel happy so that I can be encouraged too .... Inspire more, Yelp more!

I called the hotel as I turned around (should have never done that) to trust housekeeping would bring them down. I get back to the front and the cleaner PHYSICALLY removed my engagement ring from my wedding band and staged it as though she "found" it under the bathroom sink. I asked to go up to the room and it was already spotless, mind you I checked out less than 10 min ago by now. Along with that, my other one just completely disappeared into thin air. The cops came and did a report but the manager has yet to even follow up, not one person from their staff cares or is making any steps to in the least try and make it right. It's beyond disheartening there are people out there that would do this. But I warn you do not stay or trust this staff. Learn from my mistake. The pilots I fly with who also have been staying at Marriotts for years and years have reached out to multiple people and they got no response as well.

One of the standout features was the spaciousness of the suite--much larger than typical rooms in Times Square. We called the hotel from LaGuardia Airport, and their complimentary shuttle picked us up promptly within 15 minutes. The shuttle was clean and roomy. Our suite included a full kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, and stove, though there were no dishes or utensils provided. It also featured a dining table with chairs, a desk, sofa bed, and best of all--a private in-room Jacuzzi. It was a perfect way to relax after long days out in the cold. The hotel also offers convenient amenities like a coin laundry, a gym, and a vending machine. Daily housekeeping was consistent and appreciated. It's just a short walk to the New World Mall, Tangram Mall and the 7 train, which made getting around very easy. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, space, and a bit of luxury near LaGuardia.

So the right thing to do was to be gracious and allow everyone to have breakfast. Kids customarily eat for free anyway. So the experience we had was that a weird man followed us around watching what we were taking at a breakfast buffet. OMG, this would never happen at a Marriott or Hilton. And there was no coffee. Then, when we complained to the manager, they said oh well, things cost so much these days. No hospitality or courtesy whatsoever. What kind of third world experience is this???!! Do yourself a favor and stay at a hotel where they have standards.

Unfortunately someone always stashes that piece of garbage and I'm usually the one who finds it. LOL. They do a great job of preparing flights from customer to customer. The attendants are always very friendly, courteous and professional. A great group of very talented and committed individuals. They should all be very proud of themselves. The seating is always comfortable and there is always enough legroom. (I'm 5'11"). The video screens are a good size and there is always enough entertainment choices. I'll give the snacks an ok. Nothing spectacular but OK. I definitely miss the blue chips. Their free hi speed WiFi is a definite plus. Easy to connect and use. I don't mind flying, really I don't. When I do, I find Jetblue does a great job. I'm not always thrilled about be put into a tube and shot across the country sitting for 3-6 hours but when I do, Jet Blue is the way to go.

At JFK, my wife and I were dismissed in a rude and unhelpful manner when asking a simple seating question. During boarding, I witnessed a gate agent respond harshly to a passenger traveling with an infant and stroller, repeatedly stating she was "by herself" and refusing clear instructions, leaving the passenger confused and embarrassed. The following day, my son endured a 6-hour delay with constant confusion, being sent between staff who gave conflicting information about rebooking and hotel options. Employee LISA abruptly accused him of "threatening" behavior simply for asking what his options were, which was completely inappropriate. He was later told to file a complaint elsewhere after being led to believe one was already being taken. Notably, only after he disclosed, he is a practicing attorney did the tone of staff noticeably change, becoming more restrained and less dismissive. Across both experiences, there was a consistent pattern of poor communication, rudeness, and failure to provide clear assistance during disruption. This reflects a serious customer service failure and lack of professionalism during high-stress travel conditions. I expect this to be reviewed and addressed.

I've stayed regularly at Aloft Harlem for the last (nearly) two years. As I've said, prices are reasonable for NYC. The Harlem neighborhood is bright and alive. Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. Housekeeping is wonderful. Because I'm a regular, everyone here knows me. Recently a new employee started, who did not know me. I introduced myself, explained I was a regular, and went about my routine. Two weeks later, I return and she remembers my name and my face. The staff who have known me longer have clearly told her I prefer corner rooms and I like a certain kind of wine. She said, "they told me you like . . . (Insert multiple things here)." I am impressed by the new employee who went out of her way to remember me, as well as the longer established staff, who clearly updated her on my preferences. And again, for the record, the staff here have always been friendly, down to earth, and welcoming. One more time: I've been staying here nearly two years. And I come back again and again because they are fantastic people.

The only real positive was the location, which was very convenient for the event I was attending. The hotel itself appeared run-down and poorly maintained. There were holes in the walls near the electrical outlets, and there was an awkward empty space where it looked like furniture had been removed from the wall without any repairs or touch-up paint being done. Overall, the room looked neglected and far below what I would expect from a Marriott property. Another odd issue was the refrigerator being located under the bathroom sink, which seemed very unusual. To make matters worse, it had a strong unpleasant odor. Customer service was equally disappointing. When we arrived to check in, the front desk associate was busy stocking shelves and paid no attention to us. He then stopped to have a conversation with another staff member while we waited. At no point did he acknowledge us or simply say, "I'll be right with you." A little communication and courtesy would have gone a long way. Based on the condition of the room and the lack of attentive service, this stay did not meet the standards I associate with Marriott hotels. I would not choose to stay here again.

My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch.
