The first of three wineries during our tour of the Missouri wine country, the Balducci Vineyards…read morewas a great place to first try out Missouri wine varieties. The four of us shared two wine flights (3 wines each), with Chairetto, Norton, and Time Signature being our choices. The history of Balducci Vineyards traces its roots to Louis Balducci, who after immigrating to the U.S. in 1906, worked in the vineyards of California to learn the art of winemaking. After WWII, he established the Balducci Wine Company in 1946. Later in 1987, his son bought land in Augusta, MO, and began formal wine production in 2001. In 2021, the vineyards was purchased by the Hoffman Family of Companies (who also owns many other vineyards in the Augusta, MO area). Wine making operations is now handled by the 3rd generation of Balducci's.

There is also a bar inside for food/ drinks. Overall, the putt golf course is a bit run down but is still functional. Seemed like the bowling alley and volleyball are the main focus!

My partner and I had the whole course to ourselves, so we didn't feel rushed making it through the holes. Two years later, we found ourselves visiting for a second time on our spontaneous date night. Our most recent visit was on a Saturday night at 8 PM ish. The parking lot was absolutely packed, and everyone seemed to be inside bowling. To play mini golf, you simply walk inside the bowling alley and head over to the main counter. It cost $20 for the two of us to play mini golf. Clubs, balls, and scorecards were ready to grab on the side of the counter. The course itself is pretty cool, and at one point, you get to play inside a mountain/cave situation. However, it's obvious this whole place could use some love, upgrades, and maintenance. There was murky, stagnant water that looked like it had been sitting under the pirate ship for quite some time. And all the fun details on the course are clearly run-down and unkempt. Everything is still very playable though, and we had a great time once again! While we didn't have the whole place to ourselves this time, we definitely didn't feel rushed or anything to move through the course. I like how spread out everything is. Are there fanicer mini golf courses in STL? Well yes... but this one has some sort of raggedy charm that manages to keep bringing me back.
