I attended a children's charity event hosted here, after which the owners happened to arrive. When…read moreone of them wanted to set her drink down, she was offended to see a cup of ice cream in the cupholder, demanded everyone's names, and scolded the family who planned the kids charity event for not controlling their guests. She could hardly control herself in the moment. At this point, the event was over and guests had largely left. This all happened after the families cleaned up the entire event and threw out trash themselves, without the help of staff. Apparently they missed this, and that was unacceptable to the owners. Also, one of the bartenders inappropriately flirted with the wives of this event. I was considering becoming a member to join the many friends at this event who are currently members and watched this happen too. After seeing how the owners behave and treat their members and guests, I'm good.

The four of us shared two wine flights (3 wines each), with Chairetto, Norton, and Time Signature being our choices. The history of Balducci Vineyards traces its roots to Louis Balducci, who after immigrating to the U.S. in 1906, worked in the vineyards of California to learn the art of winemaking. After WWII, he established the Balducci Wine Company in 1946. Later in 1987, his son bought land in Augusta, MO, and began formal wine production in 2001. In 2021, the vineyards was purchased by the Hoffman Family of Companies (who also owns many other vineyards in the Augusta, MO area). Wine making operations is now handled by the 3rd generation of Balducci's.

On September 12, they were playing at Cottleville Wine Seller, which is a great venue to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, listen to some live music, and have some food and drinks. We met up with one of my wife's coworkers, who has also been following 5th Gear, so it made for an even more enjoyable evening. Holly was our server and did a fantastic job taking care of us. We ordered some soft pretzels, a couple of Shock Tops, a couple of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc, and a hummus dish. Everything was good, and the combination of great music, good food and drinks, and plenty of people watching made for a really enjoyable night. The only downside to the evening was that it was a little on the warm side, but it didn't stop us from having a great time. Overall, it was a great outing. The "shave ice" was more of a "shaved ice." it didn't seem shaved fine enough to be considered truly Hawaiian-style, but it was reminiscent of Sno Biz shaved ice, so I can't really complain.
