I realize that some Bourbons have been hard to find lately, but that doesn't warrant doubling the price just because you can. Eh on the variety, decent location... but the reason I came here to rate a liquor store a 1 wish it could be 0 was the service today or lack there of. The guy behind the counter was just on his cell phone loudly laughing enjoying his call the entire time we're there even when my husband asked him a question about a product he blatantly ignored him/us. So I said "wow you're really just going to stay on your phone and ignore customers" guess that got his attention because he went from not even acknowledging us to saying in a challenging way "what, why don't you go somewhere else" when I asked him to repeat himself nothing but tried to stare me down until I asked for my receipt. Walked in to this huge store with amazing selection and the guy behind the counter was full on making out with his girlfriend. I was so happy for the couple because they were enjoying a moment and I wasn't in a hurry and love makes the world go round so I waited, and when they were done the counter guy was absolutely hilarious while his girlfriend looked a little embarrassed. Weird Denver moment! Store is near the airport and had everything I was looking for, even a strong variety of cigars and paraphernalia. I must say it's an honor to be the first one to review my favorite neighborhood liquor store. I need to clarify though that this review is for the large Tower Liquors on Green Valley Ranch Blvd (48th Ave) in the King Soopers Shopping Center. There's another "Tower Liquors" on Tower near Conoco. This is not that store. Anyway, huge wine selection and a healthy variety of import, micro-brewed and domestic beers. The prices are decent and if you look around you can usually find a quality 12-pack for between ten and twelve dollars. By quality I mean Becks or Tecate. You know a notch or so above Coors. And if you're looking for something cheap they have the full suite of PBR, Schlitz and that ilk for very low prices. It's a good combination of quality beers and wines but this is definitely not a snooty store and they also cater to the rest of us that just want a six-dollar bottle of wine or a 12-pack of Modelo. They also have a huge selection of liquor. The staff is generally helpful and courteous and the store is well-lit and entering it feels safe in the evening. read more

Because this is the closest liquor store to the bf's house, we frequent here often. Despite being in the middle of no where, this store is pretty cool in my book and deserves four stars... Star 1= They are always super stocked and nothing has ever "run out" because of their large shipments and wide variety of everything. Star 2= Their prices are better than most in the area. only $20 for 1800 Tequila seems like a deal to me :) Star 3= The staff is super friendly, attentive and definitely there to help. Went to this store yesterday to pick up some Cream of Coconut so I could make some Pina Coladas. I asked the clerk as I couldn't find. He had no idea what I was looking for. So he asked a woman that was behind the counter doing paperwork. She directed us to the aisle where the mixers are. I looked again and told her it wasn't there and explained again that I was trying to make pina coladas from scratch not already made. She said it was there and it is called Chi Chi. I again explained I did not want a pre-mixed drink but make my own. Her response: " I guess we don't have it." Really? You should know your merchandise. With the ghetto beat down LQ that shares a similar name down the street I didn't expect much when I walked in here. Man was I wrong this LQ is slammin' they have a huge wine selection! I buy a bottle of wine here and there for the ladies when they come over, problem being I live in GVR and haven't had any ladies over to the new house yet! yes that means I have lots of WINE! This LQ is always clean, well stocked and the employees are very helpful and courteous. I haven't seen many killer sales here but when you have the tasty beverage market pretty much cornered like them in GVR you can roll full price. There are of course the obligatory Micro brews, and all the mass marketed Domestic selection's as well. They also have a well stocked liquor selection with most of the low end and high end spirits that come in handy at that moment you feel so inclined to get twisted! I have never been so frustrated with a retail store in my life. I stopped in, as i do almost weekly, to grab my wife and myself a bottle of wine after a long day. Due to time constraints I had to bring my son, which is no big deal to me. He is very well behaved. Unfortunately, he accidentally knocked a bottle of sky vodka off the shelf and broke the cap ONLY! Almost immediately, an employee comes around the corner and treats me like a toddler with his condescending tone of "what happened?". I felt like saying i hate that stuff so I broke it. I decided to be nice and said I'm sorry it was an accident. Without hesitation he told me he was going to charge me for it. I already had about $35 of items in my hand. I asked him why they couldn't just damage it out, after all, it was an honest mistake. Frustrated as i was, I went to the counter, where sure enough, they remembered to charge me. I started to raise hell again because I know full well bottles break frequently in an alcohol store. Some old hag of a lady was not budging. So needless to say, I paid for it and left. I will never return. This store is THE most convenient for me, but i will still go elsewhere. Some simple customer service would go a long way. Mistakes happen. I wish I had a way to prove my point, but hopefully this will do for now. On other occasions I've been forced to have awkward political conversations with some war vet boasting an opinion I couldn't disagree with more. This place has a decent selection, I will give them that. But if you're going to have selection like that you need to have staff that actually knows about the products you carry. I brought a pack of beer up to the counter I'd never tried before and asked the girl if she had tried it and could tell me anything about it. She was very short with me and said "Nope. 1 Star because I have to and it's close to my house. If you go to this store in the morning/afternoon the staff is friendly. If you go in the evening the staff is horrible. There's a short guy that works at night and he is extremely rude and unhelpful. My 1st encounter with him I asked how his day was and he says "I just helped this rude bitch and she pissed me off." Kind of caught me off guard. The 2nd was a few days ago and my cousin sensed he had an attitude as well so my cousin asked him if he was ok and he just walked away. So we're leaving and my cousin says "hope your night gets better" and he responds with "if you don't like my attitude don't come back then." We just laughed and left. After a long drive from the springs yesterday, I stopped to pick up a bottle of wine to bring to a Maywether fight party. I had my small yochon puppy of about 9 pounds with me. Instead of leaving her in the car (it was 91 degrees outside), I opted to carry her inside with me. She is well behaved and doesn't bark. There are no signs saying No dogs allowed so I went inside and grabbed the wine and went to checkout. The RUDEST, most unfriendly cashier asked, "why'd you Bring your dog in? You can't bring your dog in, no dogs allowed and you are lucky I'm letting you buy this." I was shocked, appalled and embarrassed. What if she had been a service dog? After 6 years of our unsatisfied business there, I'm not going back. And I highly recommend to try some of the other, classier and friendlier stores in the area. read more

So don't pay attention to the hours posted for this place! They have a 10-15 minute grace period. I showed up at 7:45 pm on Sunday and they close according to the posted sign at 8pm. I knocked on the door and said it was too early. They replied with that "It doesn't work like that". There is another store down the street, go there instead. read more

About a year ago I asked them to get me a price on a special order keg. They took my name and number and never called me back. I tried to give them a second chance last week and the same thing happened. I tried to find out who the manager was so I could let them know what happened with their beer buyer. Some of the employees working here may possibly be former or current transients. Have met a few of them who have very off-putting personalities and have witnessed some of them try to start intrusive conversations with customers. Just food for thought, a lot of people who are moving to this area actually have money unlike the ghetto crap that used to live here and we will just go elsewhere to give our business if the mindsets of the the local businesses don't change to have a higher standard. read more

Great liquor store!!!! Stopped here before Phish, giddy with excitement! They have a lot of choices here with tons of liquor and a decent amount of beer selections. I'm not a huge beer person, but my craft beer loving friends found plenty to be happy with. I found some yummy porters and ciders too. Everything was super fair priced as well. Not a wine person, but there was a lot of wine to choose from. As we were loading our car up, the owner came through the parking lot and told us to come inside for some ice, on him!!! What a guy! Yes, we did buy a lot, but what an extra perk that was. He gave us some bags of ice, was really pleasant, and sent us on our way. Cool land, cool guy!!! read more

The two KEY words here are expensive and rude. This place is more expensive than any other store in the area, and is staffed with some of the worst humans possible. There is a much better store down the street and i have been going there. Today i decided to give tower liquor one more try and that was such a mistake. I watched an employee be absolutely disrespectful to an elderly man who didnt have his ID with him. I witnessed this and couldnt believe what i saw and how they treated this old guy. Unfuckingbelievable. Screw this rude ghetto establishment and go down the street to the new one by dairy queen. You will save mo ey and be rung up by people that are human. read more

I go here only because they have a better selection than the other stores in town, other than their beer. Prices aren't bad, but they seriously lack in customer service. There are a few employees who are polite, but most of them are beyond rude. There is a younger woman with red hair who is awful! She never provides good customer service and acts annoyed every time. I think she is related to the owner because I don't know of any other place where her poor attitude would be acceptable. read more

This store has an awesome beer selection as well as wine selection! I am not a liquor drinker however the liquor selection looks awesome as well! Most of the staff is awesome and very friendly! The manager, Lois, however has the worst attitude ever. If she chooses to speak to you that day it will be a cold hello.....
