Stopped in for a quick bottle of liquor and the store attendant wanted to scan my id. The selection was okay and the price was reasonable but the last thing I want to do is have my personal information stored in their database open to identity theft. Great liquor store, awesome selection. If you want anything you just need to ask, if they don't have it they will likely be able to get it for you. It's slightly pricier than some of the biggest liquor stores but the convenience of have a neighborhood store is more than worth the extra dollar or two. And it has dogs that are super sweet waiting to greet you, can't beat that! read more

I just moved into the neighborhood this summer and have been to Ace a few times. I was told about the point system and how much I needed to spend in order to receive $10 off my total purchase. I was just there a few days ago and was told after I paid if I was aware I had a $10 reward waiting. I asked if she had applied it my to purchase and she responded that I had to tell her to use the reward in order for them to apply it. WHAT?? At Mr. B's in the Stanley (they offer $20 rewards BTW) they ALWAYS told me I had a reward and asked me if I would like to apply it. This doesn't seem like an unreasonable request to make. To add insult to injury, she then added, you have 30 days to use it before it expires. Complete BS. I won't be going back. I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to go back to Mr. Bs. read more

The owner was so friendly that we felt comfortable in sharing the sequence of life events that led my brother and I to her doorstep. With just a few pieces of information (Canadian immigrants growing up in Michigan with a long family history of alcoholism), she was able to prescribe the perfect limited edition craft beer that we had been searching for all of our life that we didn't even know we needed. It might be the sweet sweet beer talking, but this store has a great selection, reasonable prices, and friendly service! and once I spend my ten thousandth dollar there, maybe I'll be able to get my picture up on the wall as a special preferred customer. ;-) read more

I'm beyond impressed with the ownership. Stephanie did a fantastic job bringing Sam on as Manager. He is incredibly knowledgeable, remembers my name whenever I come in, and orders extra cases of the champagne I like. But what really blew me away was how far Stephanie went to right an accidental wrong. Union Wine Co.'s canned bubbles are my all time favorite. I stopped in 3 weeks ago for the two cases Sam ordered. The price per can seemed higher than usual so I made a passing comment to Stephanie about it. She said she'd look into it for me to make sure they were correctly and competitively priced. I didn't think much of it but about a week later I received handwritten card in the mail from Stephanie apologizing for overcharging me! Turns out they were priced $1 more per can than usual. In the card she provided her personal phone number so I could coordinate the receipt of either a store credit or a refund on my card. Wow. Talk about service. I'm not sure I know any other business owners that would go to such lengths to make things right. I'm wildly impressed by their customer service and will be referring all of my Stapleton friends and family to Ace's. read more

I am surprised by the negative reviews and think the 2 low scores are guests of Stapleton who must be too high and mighty. I lived off Colfax for 10 years; talk about shady.... Anyways. Great selection, big store, lots of options of cider which I like to get different varieties of, plus a discount program on top of decent prices. I met Stephanie briefly and she was nice. Chatting with some other folks from the area and taking her dogs for a walk the day I saw her. The cashier was also very nice and helpful. I thought the front entrance could have been in the middle instead of off to the left but signs made it clear where the entrance is located. I live in north Stapleton. When it was announced we were getting a 'spin-off' of Vic's from Quebec Square, the neighborhood mobilized and fought against a low-end liquor store. The owners promised us they would cater to the residents of Stapleton and carry high-end beers and wines and offer a nice customer experience. Well, I was skeptical, and they have proved me right. This place just opened, so it's as nice as it will ever be. And, it's extremely dissapointing. Fireball, Buzz balls, no wine over $14, very few decent craft beers. The atmosphere is generic and stark. We hope the owners read this and reach out to the community and change their business plan. Otherwise, Ace's will be exactly what they promised it would not be. read more

I love this place! I've had my eye on it during the entire build out. I am so glad it's OPEN! The shop is absolutely fantastic. It's beautiful and the people who work there are knowledgeable and friendly!! I think it's off to a great start. I really appreciated the request book at the counter. Ace's is a great store. Stephanie is super friendly and helpful. I was just in last night and she was quite helpful. Everyone was very friendly and professional. While there, I bought a bottle of LaCrema Chardonnay, which was very reasonably priced. Ace's definitely has a great selection of wine, to include some higher-end brands as well. I'm glad they are in our neighborhood - close by, great selection and friendly staff. Having friendly dogs to greet you is the cherry on top! Love Ace! read more
