One and a half stars at most. Imagine my surprise when I saw such high ratings for Peabody!…read moreDifference is....those ratings seem to be written/assessed by outside agencies. This review is from a rehab patient....in "care" for approximately two weeks. Granted, this is a snapshot....but nevertheless it's recent and relevant. Unfortunately many do not visit such a facility unless they have a need to find a facility. I, like others, took the word of another. That was a mistake on my part. If you like privacy, Peabody may be the place for you. Attention to call buttons is not a priority, it seems. Excuses given were: I was drawing blood, I was helping in the other wing....so...pain meds are only sometimes administered in a timely fashion. At the other end of the spectrum is a two-hour wait. Also, if your CNA (most likely) did not arrive quickly for assistance to the bathroom, be ready to have an accident right in your bed. Sure made for excitement at four in the morning! Ineptness is a grand concern. RNs shadowing others seem to be clueless. And when asked what is this? Why are you doing this? etc., answers are bogus/inaccurate. I questioned the doctors, as well. I had a voice while rehabbing. God help those elderly who had no voice or did not use their voices. Three square meals? I needed to speak to the dietitian. Of my 20 some meals at the facility I would say that four were worthy of a trip to the table....the tables--men's and women's where patients are asked to congregate only to look at each other in silence during the mealtime. Alternative foods are available to those that don't appear too tasty on the menu, but many times, those alternates were not available. Grilled cheese became a first choice for me until I couldn't get anymore taste out of a single slice of cheese between two thick cuts of bread. Some of the staff members are truly loud and nosy. One thrived on any piece of personal information. The only saving grace of Peabody, in my opinion, are the OT and PT departments. There one finds compassion, encouragement, and knowledge. The ranking of this review--with any stars at all--is because of the these two departments. Please do your homework. If you place a loved one who does not have a voice at Peabody, you may be impacting healing tremendously.

If I could give this place a negative score I definitely would. Residents crying in their rooms,…read moreone resident was crying in her doorway and nobody came. I went and informed someone at he front desk and they went to check on her. She's in a wheel chair and it turns out her belt was so tight it was cutting into her belly. The neglect of my father when he was there for 2 days caused such a rapid decline that he ended up rushed by ambulance back to hospital. He was supposed to be on oxygen and when a PA came in to check on him the 3 rd morning his oxygen was off and he was being given room air! The PA asked WHO PUT HIM ON ROOM AIR AND WHY?! We nearly lost our dad due to complete negligence. NEVER EVER take someone you love to this horrible facility!!!

I was very disappointed when I found out that they had known my husband had gone from 130lbs to 123…read morein one week, he was also very lethargic and no one from the facility notified me. The next week his weight dropped down to 115lbs and you could see his bones in his back, chest, arms and legs. I was also told that he quit eating, was not taking his meds and was not responding to questions. Unfortunately even though he had been so sick for the last 2 weeks in January the staff never asked the doctor to see my husband or thought to have him sent to the ER. Fortunately by the time I found out he was sick I was able to request the doctor see my husband asap, they then ran blood work and everything turned out pretty normal. I am also his POA so I requested the dr see him again due to his symptoms and the only thing the the PA could determine was he was very dehydrated, so they put him on fluids and we tried that for a two days. I finally decided since he was not getting any better he need to go to the ER. The hospital ER did a series of test including a chest X-ray, which showed up positive for pneumonia. The doctor told me how sick he was when he came into the cER. He could possibly recover, but probably not returned to his base line, we might need to get hospice involved or since he is so sick he may die. The nursing home does not admit any responsibility in this. While they do have a few good RN's and CNA's the management does not take any accountability. If you have a loved one you may want to seriously consider places like Rennes or St Paul's.

I have not one, but two, family members at this assisted living facility. Let's get one thing…read morestraight. ASSISTED Living means that they provide some ASSISTANCE..These elderly people are on their own. When my family member in the facility had COVID and needed medical attention, she pressed her call button repeatedly for assistance. No one came. Finally, another resident went searching for staff and found ALL THREE staff members for that wing in the break room. This was not the first occurrence of no one showing up when the emergency button was pressed either. Upon trying to call the facility about these concerns, I found that - day after day - I received an automated message that the voicemail was full, and I was disconnected. When I finally reached someone, they took a message for the director to call me back. It's been a WEEK and still no call back. When my husband physically went to the facility, he buzzed the door to get in. He did this multiple times with no response. Then, he finally shook the door to set off the alarm. Only then did someone let him in. These residents pay WELL OVER $3K a month to live there. This should be enough to provide them with, at least, some BASIC assistance. But that is not happening. This is downright neglect. And it's sickening. If you love your family member, don't put them in this facility.
