In addition, Right At Home does not guarantee coverage when caregivers are unable to be at work. Parents receiving caregiving have been left without caregiver support. Most recently caregiver arrived with cold symptoms with no screening by the agency and had to be sent home. Concerns brought to the management of Right at Home were dismissive. We have a very bright and efficient young woman from Visiting Angels in our home three afternoons a…read moreweek to help care for a 95 year old woman and to assist her partner who recently injured a knee. She does lots of errands for us including shopping for groceries, driving the patient to the doctor, going to the pharmacy, taking her patient for a short walk or wheel chair ride in one of our lovely parks. Around home she takes care of bed making and laundry and some minor indoor and outdoor chores. She is also here midday so prepares lunch as well. She is very efficient and is always on time and completes her tasks in time to be sociable and friendly with her patient. As a result, the patient likes her caregiver very much. Prior to this caregiver, we had another who was just as lovely and caring and efficient. We have loved them both and would recommend them highly for any caregiver or other job. In addition , we can't say enough about Visiting Angels and its staff. They screen and train their caregivers well and are very cooperative and understanding if there has to be a change of schedule. They are Johnny on the spot about any necessary substitution. The office pkeep us informed by phone and always give us time to make decisions. We hired them because we heard all of these good things about them. Believe me, they do not disappoint.

I'm particularly grateful for, and impressed by, Oliver's sincere compassion and care for the memory residents in the unit he directs. That's really what sold me on the place immediately, the first day I went, and he toured me through the memory care ward. I was scared to go because I had never been in a locked memory care unit before, and I imagined it would be some awful, dark, creepy, depressing, prison-like place full of anguish and suffering. It was anything but. Light, airy, clean, welcoming, with friendly staff being very attentive to everything that was happening. Every time I visited after my husband moved there, I had this same positive impression of the place. That very first day, I saw how Oliver interacted with some residents--one who was very frightened, and another who seemed very angry--and he just took the time to comfort them, listen to them, joke with them, and acknowledge them. He gave them so much dignity. It was very moving. Thank you Oliver, for doing this important work. Thank you Aegis for providing such a quiet and peaceful place for my husband to rest during his final days.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped with flowering plants and a lovely area for walking and we enjoyed several outdoor holiday celebrations in the garden with residents and staff. I am glad we chose Valley Haven to care for our father in this small, comfortable ame home-like environment.
