I made the mistake of walking in to this repair store off the street. We were looking for a simple…read morescreen replacement of an iPhone 6. The price quoted seemed reasonable and they offered to do it while we waited. After 30 minutes the phone was ready and the results seemed good enough for us. The next day we began to notice some serious battery drain issues with the phone, literally going from 100% to empty in a few hours. This was a surprise given there were no battery issues in prior use but my first thought was it just takes some time for the battery to adjust to the new screen. Three days later and the battery has not gotten better so we spoke with the store both in person and over the phone. The response was the battery is past useful life and they could replace it for a discounted price. I'm no electrical engineer but a battery's useful life doesn't just happen to end overnight - conveniently when someone opens it up and pokes around. This store is definitely some kind of sketchy telling me it is just an old battery. I reiterate that there were no issues with battery life until literally the day after they did their "quality" repair. Didn't offer a refund or any sort of help so I won't be going back or giving any praise. Maybe I'm wrong but I haven't seen a convincing argument proving their theory and most of what I read online says when a 3rd party does a repair and battery issues are seen the likely cause is a short or faulty wiring. Hopefully our loss can provide some help for others.

Replaced it, probably did a factory reset and turned around and said I needed a new hard drive. I was mad because the main reason I tried to get the laptop fixed was to regain access to my files. They lost them all I gave them permission to replace the hard drive. Picked up the computer and it wouldn't charge. When I took it back, they said I needed a new port. They replaced the port and then came back and said, it wasn't the port, it was probably the battery (one that they claim to have replaced). They swapped the battery and when that did not work, they said I needed a new motherboard. Like, really! I asked them to keep their battery, harddrive and port and give me my $330 that i had already paid for the battery and harddrive back. And i made it clear i wasn't going to pay for the port or let them replace the motherboard. I wasn't ready to give them another chance to screw up. They refused to give me any money back claiming that time to return the battery had expired. I asked them to look at the history. I never used that computer at all after the repaired it. I just turned it on and when i noticed that the battery was drained and it wouldn't charge, i turned it off. I have never sued anyone in my life but i am going to sue them. It is sad that this had to end this way but they left me with no choice. I picked up the computer on January 8th, 2025 but it wouldn't even turn on

I then came back and the cell phone technician told me I was doing it on purpose or perhaps I dropped the phone. I showed him the cell phone so that he could see that there were no abrasions or scratches anywhere on the device. The glasss itself remained in perfect condition. I called Mr Fixsmith in Forest Hills and talked to Mahmoud. I let him know of the situation and told him I'd be willing to send both phones to him via UPS so that he could look at it. The cost of the UPS was on me and that was ok. Mahmoud was great. The batteries in both devices needed to be replaced.
