Multiple times I have had the current dentists try to insist on getting root canals, and not take the time to talk with me about what I think. My teeth are not very sensitive, and Dr Arnie would always take into consideration that each person is different- he provided me with multiple fillings where a root canal could have been an option, but in each case his excellent work has held up and limited the amount of pain & money that would have come from constant root canals. Instead of a focus on patient care, there seems to be more of a focus on financial gain - my last appt I was quoted for over $1800 of work that would need done and had to all be done at the same time. Did not do any of it, and still no issues more than a year later. The office staff is also very unfriendly, especially to a family needing to book multiple appts at once. They refuse to book cleanings any less than 8 months out (despite 6 months being the recommended time frame) yet take on new patients and give them priority scheduling. They seem to also have a shortage of dental hygienists, claiming they have more business than can currently be handled by their staff. We had gone to this dentist for more than 25 years without having any of these issues, but with the retirement of Dr Arnie it is no longer a good dentist office. I would highly recommend finding a different dentist to avoid the same poor service we have experienced.

To be honest I hadn't been to the dentist in over three year~yikes!~ so I had some plaque build up. I have had some negative experiences with my past dentist so I'm always skeptical. However, she did a great job and I felt very comfortable the whole time. Dr. Thomas came in after my cleaning and he was also very friendly and professional! He answered all my questions thoughtfully. I also really liked when I asked him about my bottom crooked teeth that mentioned visaline and how they had a specialist at their practice but he did not pressure me at all and just mentioned it for if down the line I wanted to consider it. Also my previous dentist told me that it was imperative that I got my wisdom teeth pulled Dr. Thomas informed me that there is no reason for me to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I loved how honest this practice was and that they weren't trying to nickel and dime you. This is the greatest doctor experience I have ever had! Would 100% recommend this place to everyone!

After a hiatus of not trying anymore, I decided to give Dr Morrow a chance. My first visit, his only concern was to fix the tooth I came in for. Unlike previous dentist, he did not berate me or spend 20 minutes explaining how this is all my fault. NO. NONE OF THAT. He treated me like a long time patient and completely fixed the tooth in one visit. Furthermore, I've been back several times now and have begun a long journey to repairing what's left of my teeth, and this is the only place I'd ever recommend. ****MOST IMPORTANTLY**** With insurance, my patient cost is far more reasonable than I had anticipated, and they accept Care Credit which makes it easier for the big jobs. Now here's the part that shocks me; recently I had 2 root canals, post (a screw inserted into the remaining tooth) and crowns put in side by side. It took an hour and I had absolutely NO PAIN or discomfort! Listen, I left the office and went straight to DQ for lunch. Not so much as an Advil was needed in the hours or even days after. ZERO PAIN. I have lost 2 teeth to this issue and ended up at urgent care again after having to get a tooth removed from another faulty filling that they put in resulting in another infection. I didn't wait too too long and the doctor and his in-house staff are very friendly. It was my first time there so they made me feel super comfortable. You can tell he's very experienced and knows what he's doing. He even fixed a little chip on my front tooth without even asking. It wasn't huge and only I could see it, but he simply shaved the tooth down and voila! Perfection. Here's what I have an issue with. Because of my insurance, I was told by the doctor that because the coverage was more than the actual cleaning, there would be no balance. Great! Not... In August, I get a voicemail from the doctor's office saying that I have a balance of $77 and it's due pretty much ASAP. I called and she explained to me something complex about my insurance which ended up being the reason why I have a balance. Not technically their fault, but the doctor shouldn't have told me I was fully covered. What bothered me more was that I suddenly owe this money ASAP, but I'm only hearing about it now over four months later. The woman claims they sent it out but I received nothing. I asked for her to send a new statement out in the mail that way I can review the charges and also have a direct name and address to send the check to. Fast forward a week and I receive mail from them. It's literally one piece of paper with hand written notes on it about when I visited and how much I owe. No official statement, no billing information, nothing. I have no problem paying the bill, but give me some instructions. Why are you making this so difficult?! It's now September and they forwarded the case over to some medical bill collector. I guess we can both take the blame for things, but c'mon... if you want your freaking money help a kid out and at least tell me who to write the check out to. Maybe let me know which address?! While the office is professional on the surface, my experience overall was extremely frustrating and costly. After my permanent crowns were placed, I developed persistent sensitivity in my right front tooth (cold and hot) that did not improve over time. I also felt a noticeable ledge/step on the back side of the crown near the gumline, which made me concerned about the fit/contour. Aesthetically, the crowns also looked longer and bulkier than expected with heavier incisal edges than what I was aiming for. When I tried to address these concerns, I was advised to pay for additional diagnostics (a wax diagnostic). After I paid for it, the office later terminated the patient-provider relationship instead of completing the planned corrections. What made the situation especially difficult was the refund process: the office confirmed in writing the refund amounts, but repeatedly stated the refund would only be processed if I signed a broad "release/indemnification" agreement exactly as written. The agreement was extremely one-sided. It went far beyond acknowledging a refund and included sweeping waivers and protections for the office, along with a "non-disparagement/online statements" section that, in my view, would discourage patients from speaking openly online about their experience. I was not comfortable signing something like that just to receive an agreed refund. Overall, I'm deeply disappointed by how concerns were handled. The communication and resolution process felt dismissive and, at times, misleading - more focused on protecting the office than responsibly addressing the problem. My takeaway is that the approach felt money-driven, and I left feeling I couldn't trust the process. I would encourage anyone considering treatment here to do thorough due diligence and not rely solely on online ratings.

That time came and went. I asked when I'd be seen and they said "we're running late." (At 10:18, I had asked if they were running late and was told that they were not.) At 10:25 I asked the receptionist how long my appointment would take. Was told an hour. Well, I'm already ten minutes into my lunch hour and had expected to be seen at my appointment time. I said "nevermind, I'm leaving; you can keep my money" (had to make a $25 deposit before anything happened at all). They said "have a nice day," and I said "f*ck off." (Yeah -- i know that's wrong, but was so frustrated, and also I'm old and have no filter.) It's a downtown office and downtown workers obviously use them and can't be away from work for hours on end because a dentist doesn't keep appointment times.) This place has zero respect for patients' time, but theirs is SO important that I received NUMEROUS texts in the days leading up to my appointment. "...you have an appointment reserved with Atlas Dental Specialists on Wed, Oct 1st at 10:20 AM." And ".."please respond with C to confirm your appointment with Atlas Dental Specialists for October 1st at 10:20 am. If your appt is missed, or cancelled / rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice, a fee of $50/hour of appt time will apply." So obviously THEIR time is important. Just not their patients' time. Also, every appointment is "separate." Cleaning is one. Examination is another. It's all about money money money with this place. They did refund my $25 deposit though. Terrible place. And now I have to find a dentist.
