Awesome salon! Haven't been anywhere else except for a tanning salon in my town and I must say I'm extremely impressed with this place. The bed I went in (silver bullet) was very strong with brand new bulbs and it was very clean. The music choice was great finally something I can listen to that I enjoyed. I got the pleasure of meeting the owner, John who was a very nice man who gave me two 7 day free trial cards for 24 hour fitness. The price was great it was about $69 for one month unlimited in the silver bullet because I am a student. For the entire month of February he has different specials going on so I suggest people take advantage of it while they can! This is my preferred tanning salon. Staff is always welcoming and friendly, prices are fair, and it's clean. I get the mystic tan every once in a while before an event and am always extremely pleased with the results. I've gotten a spray tan done at the another tanning salon in ramsey and was left looking very orange- so I'm always fearful about spray tans but the mystic tan always makes me look glowy and offers more of a natural looking tan. Would definitely recommend this place! read more

I used to go tanning by my old job but once I left there I needed to find a new place. Years ago I went to LA Sunset Tan which is right by Totally Tan, but after having my credit card stolen and late on my monthly payment, they wanted me to pay all these crazy fees which ended up coming out to be over $180. I popped into Totally Tan and was a little tight in the money department because of a vacation I had planned. I only ended up tanning for one session and then went to Beach Bum (right by my new job) because they were running a special for the month. After about a month tanning there I barely got any color and when my package was running out I got an email from Totally Tan about their promotion for the month. It was $90 unlimited tanning for a month in ANY bed which is a pretty sweet deal in my opinion. I noticed their student passes are a lot more affordable (for obvious reasons) but I am not a student which sucks, but I was happy to get the promo in my e-mail. I ran over there ASAP and purchased the package. I went in the Master Class bed, which is the highest bed that they have and I felt as though I was going to melt away haha. Despite the fact that it gets very hot (if you are not used to it) I had already gotten color. I find that the beds here have a tendency to get a lot hotter than beds I've visited in other locations but once you are used to the heat it really is no problem, I ended up enjoying it after some time. I've been rotating different beds for the past month and I have gotten way darker than I had ever gotten at Beach Bum. After only a few times visiting there, the owner knew my name when I walked in which was nice. I'm all about supporting family owned and local businesses. Although I only tan before vacations and occasionally during the summer months, I will DEFINITELY be returning here next time I go away. Thanks Totally Tan! read more

Recently went here after a 12-15 year hiatus (due to moving away from Ramsey). The place hasn't changed, in a good way, and I was actually pleasantly surprised to still be in their computer system. Also, way more reasonably priced than a lot of other salons for a spray tan. read more

I've had a couple of different experiences with tanning beds... a salon in my home town as well as trying them out at a couple of gyms I've been a member with. Even at the tanning salon in my home town, I got minimal results and ended up quitting because I felt my money was being wasted. I started visiting Totally Tan a few months after starting a new job here in NJ. I was really impressed. The staff is knowledgeable and they make sure they know exactly what's going on with the beds, so you can choose the amount of minutes you want to do accurately. They are clean and I like the versatility of the beds. Maybe I'm just feeling spoiled because I've only ever used ineffective beds in the past and I've dealt with bad customer service, but I get an awesome, even tan with these beds and I DON'T tan easily. Got a spray tan at totally tan in ramsey it was super blochy and streaky and uneven. I could have done it better myself with store bought tanning lotion. Then, it came off within 3 days but it was supposed to last at least 10! I want my 35 bucks back. read more

I discovered this place a little over a year ago when I first moved to the area. There is at least one other tanning place in close proximity to this location, but I was immediately won over by this place by the staff. They are always so nice, always in a good mood, and enthusiastic to help! They also have awesome deals that come up- I would say - on a monthly basis that I always keep an eye out for too. This means they don't try to up sell you on ridiculous packages, the staff is attentive and warm, the beds are clean, and they tan like they're supposed to. The prices are extremely reasonable. I am an experienced tanner and in my home tanning bed (Im from mich), which is 30 lamp, clamshell type, no facial tanner, with bulbs currently 9 yrs old, I get color after a 15 min session and after 3 sessions at home, I am dark. At Totally Tan, I used the 2nd highest level bed, multiple times and I got absolutely no color from it. I wasted $130 on a monthly plan. Id like to mention that their beds are very old and beat up. I tanned in beds like theirs back in the late '90s. The knobs that control the lights and fans are mostly broken and dont respond. They charge $12 for a packet of regular tanning lotion. I never saw a tanned person in there. read more

I've been going to totally tan for 5 years, the employees really know what they're talking about, the monthly specials are awesome, it's an extremely clean facility and the bulbs are changed regularly. It's great because someone always let's you know when they were just changed, so you never have to worry about being burned. read more
