Very friendly front of house staff. They were able to provide me with recommendations for my skin tone and tanning desires. I used their UV tanning beds. Prices are a little bit more on the expensive side, but the bed I used was something from the future. It was so advanced. I would definitely go back again, but be aware of the pricing. read more

Honestly, I had no issue with this company for years - I was a customer for YEARS - until I decided to come back to it and start up a membership again for unlimited monthly tanning 2 months ago. It was $234 and on top of that they charged me for $271 the next time I was there for some reason. I had a tragic family emergency, after I'd tanned maybe 6 times in a week and a half - only - then asked the management to make an exception since I'm dealing with a family sickness and death (clearly haven't been in there) and instead of do that, I'm told that the contract is solid and I've officially paid $234 + $92 for at most - 6 tans (haven't been there in over a month and a half). Unfortunately, this horrifying place seems to be the only option to get a fake tan in that area and that's so unfortunate. Because now that I've paid FIFTY-FIVE dollars PER TAN at a company that doesn't respect me or have any empathy whatsoever (obviously since I expressed my devastation both emotionally and financially during my family's time of need), it's so unfortunate that they're still going to keep doing this to others. I even have a body wrap session left there that I'll never see come back to me. Just another devastating blow during a very rough time. No such thing as humanity I guess. read more

What I like most about this tanning salon is the number of options available to you. They have a lot of different packages and beds so you can really customize to what works best for you. I ultimately chose the level 1 package that is buy 4 get 1 free. I only wanted to a few sessions to prepare for my upcoming vacation. I was really disappointed with the level 1 beds. I have been to tanning salons where their level 1 beds are not as basic and more advanced than beach bum. For such a huge tanning salon, I would have thought their level 1 beds would be good. There are no facial tanning bulbs in the lay down bed, and the upright is really cramped and has that old school tanning bed "cage" feel. Not really impressed with either of the level 1 beds. I did upgrade one day to the level 2, which ended up being a really good bed. I should have went for the level 2 package to begin with. read more

I'm a member of a beach bum tanning for several years and was always very satisfied with the services and staff members until today. My account was frozen for almost a year due to place being closed during the quarantine and me being scared to go back due to COVID after the quarantine. I went back today wanted to unfreeze my account. Lady working the front desk was extremely rude, she refused to tell me her name, when I asked about the mng, she said the mng is busy n refused to call her. OK so here i go, the place is great with the staff having knowledge and friendliness that makes me want to go back as needed. I am not one for how decorated the place is (decorated very nicely by the way) but i am one for the beds and stand up units that are available. I cannot believe with the demand for the stand up units and they only have ONE STAND UP UNIT AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL PACKAGE. This one stand up unit is falling apart, the air ventilation system is missing one acrylic tube that broke months ago and was never replaced missing air directional vent at the bottom and more..... The unit just looks like its been through hell and needs to be replaced with the addition of more stand up units in this category ( the staff always says they wish they had more stand up units in this category so please listen to them!!!.) Awful company! Would give no stars if I could. Absolutely Disgusted. This is the 2nd location where the Mystic Tan (first 2 was Rockaway) broke while I was in it. A quarter of my body was sprayed. Was told by staff in Wayne to drive to the "sister location" in West Caldwell and that the front desk checked with West Caldwell & I would have a free spray tan done right away. Drove 20 minutes to next location to find out that I could not get the spray tan. That I would have to wait a minimum of 45 minutes. Disgusted!! Lied to and misled. Will never return. I went to the salon to start up a membership and spoke with the "assistant manager" who knew nothing about the packages they offer. There was no one there to help me. I give 3 stars because the staff is usually friendly,but for tanning,I'd give 1 star.occasionally, I have to tan due to psoriasis on my legs.the sun helps it.at beach bum,your face might get a tiny bit of a tan,but your body will get nothing.you're better off trying to tan in Alaska, than Beach bum.they might occasionally replace the bulbs for your face,to trick you into thinking you got a tan,but the other bulbs in their beds do not work..I've only used their most expensive beds too.don't waste your money at Beach bum. read more

I am only in Wayne for a wk and the tanning chain I use does not have locations here. I read good reviews on Google about beach bum tanning so I went on their website for pricing and special offers. They offered a special for new clients, pay for a single visit and get a wk free! Perfect for my time line. I went with the lowest level bed. With tax I paid 11$ & change & I've been tanning daily for that. It's a large store with plenty of newer model beds,Clean and well decorated. Friendly helpful knowledgeable staff tops it off. The choice of music isn't my style but that is a minimal issue. If I lived in Wayne again I would have a membership @ beach bum tanning. read more
