An old candy shop and a weird toy store had a baby, and it's Totally Cool. So when you need a KISS lunchbox, a bikini apron, a noise machine that makes monkey sounds, and some odd candy you saw one day on Unwrapped (like the Idaho Spud), this is the place for you. I bought something that makes a fart sound you can keep in your pocket. At least, that's what I told my wife. I paid extra for the one that smells like Taco Bell. read more

Auburn, the "Endurance Capital of the World", is a neat place for many reasons. One is the fact it has character and interesting stores such as this one. Stopping in at Totally Cool was a nice treat after dining at a delicious spot up the road, Auburn Alehouse. Prices at Totally Cool are reasonable and even though I usually just look at items in shops like this, I purchased a small exfoliating soap bar. I dig it. Stop in and take a look around at all of the fun items you could buy for yourself. Or for someone else for their birthday, graduation, Christmas, mother's or father's day, or for no particular reason at all! Support small local business and buy a little knickknack or two. I had a great time cruising around this eccentric store! Bought some candies that I haven't seen since I was little.

Oh this place just ain't any ole gift shop. It's filled with fun, quirky, kitschy, unique gifty merchandise like novelty socks with sarcastic sayings, retro replicated toys, old school lunch boxes, gag gifts, touristy gold in a bottle, safe fine paper products, handmade soaps, and retro hard to find candy. And that's just some of the stuff. I had such a great time browsing, a lot of the items made me laugh out loud or blush or both. It was hard to limit my purchases because many of the items had prices under $10. I especially got a kick out of the more uncommon items such as the sarcastic "1940s housewife " magnets. Plus I was a sucker for the touristy gold flakes in a bottle. I've been to Old Town Auburn tons of time, but never knew about this place until a couple of weeks ago. This place is not facing the street. It's off a walkway from the sidewalk. So keep your eyes peeled and head right in. read more

This store is a treasure in Old Town Auburn! The owner is super friendly and she carries some of the funnest gifts I've seen. I can't get over the Redneck Wine glasses. They are a riot and I want to buy them for everyone I know! The toy section is great! They carry real wooden toys as well. Which, with two boys, I need. Totally uncool. My son and daughter in law took me out to dinner for my birthday and told me about this neat gift shop down the street where I might want to pick out a gift, Totally Cool. We walked in with my 7 year old grandson and the door had not even shut behind us before the clerk announced that his parents needed to control him as she had just had an incident with a child previously. Mind you my grandson had done nothing but walk in the store. We all turned and walked out. Terrible way to treat customers. read more

An awesome little shop in Auburn that does everything right. They add charm to the Old Town section of Auburn, offering nostalgic candies and retro toys to those who venture in. A perfect stop for refueling energy and excitement for the rest of you exploration of the town. I know of the woman the other reviewer was referring to, and she is nowhere near as harsh or rude as described. She is a kind lady who simply has a lot of things she needs to monitor. Imagine having to make sure everything in that shop didn't get stolen or misplaced by little sticky hands. You'd be just as adamant about being respectful of the shop if you were in her shoes. The employees there are always friendly as long as you show them and their items with respect and put things back where they belong. You'd be surprised how far it goes to just ask where to put it back to instead of treating it like a Target or WalMart. read more
